Chapter 122: Olivia Is Jealous?

"Judging by the slight twitch of your hands and eyes every time the word killer is mentioned," Detective Riley pointed at who she was convinced was the killer, "I believe Liam is the killer."

The hitman silently looked at her for a while before looking down at his chosen card and asked, "Are you certain?"

"I am." Riley had a confident smile on her face as she pointed at him.

It seems the kid had forgotten that even without her factor, it would be impossible for her to miss any detail, no matter how obscure it was.

Liam continued looking at the card for a while longer before letting out a sigh and slowly turning it around.

Riley’s smile slowly dropped as she looked at the card,

Decoy.

A smile appeared on Liam’s face as he said, "I guess that means I win."

Of course he knew that Riley would very easily figure out who the killer was by reading everyone here, so he decided to throw her off with his microexpressions.

He successfully had her think that he was the killer whilst not acting out of character for a butler character.

And thus, he had won the first game.

"Does that mean I also win?" Eli suddenly spoke up with a grin, revealing his card,

Killer.

Riley truly was shocked at how the siblings had thrown her off.

Liam being able to control his reactions and expression was expected, since she had witnessed it during their first meeting, but Eli too?

The kid had managed to go through all her questioning sessions without giving anything away, which was quite surprising for someone his age.

"Am I getting old?" She couldn’t help but ask, especially when she considered that she had just been bested in her field by two kids.

Of course, she wouldn’t exactly go all out in such a game, but still.... This should’ve been quite easy for her.

"Alright then!" Tyler, the gardener, spoke up as he put his card on the table. "Round two?"

Ding Dong!

Before the game could start, though, the doorbell rang again, pulling their attention towards it.

"I’ll get it!" Eli was the first to stand up, and he quickly moved towards the door.

Opening it, he froze when he was faced with an unfamiliar face.

"Oh, hello." Standing there was a woman with short pink hair and eyes to match. She had a warm smile on her face as she looked at him. "You must be Eli. I’m Rose, Liam’s friend."

Eli...was frozen still, looking at Rose’s face as he experienced something for the first time in his eleven years of life,

A Crush.

"May I come in?" Rose asked again, snapping him out of his thoughts.

"Y-yes," Eli answered as he stepped aside, letting Rose walk in.

Out of all the people here, only Sable knew who Rose was and about her business relationship with Liam; the rest were left to try and figure it out.

Liam looked at her as she walked in, before saying, "You’re late."

"Sorry," Rose replied, "I got held up."

Raika subtly looked toward Liam. "Friend of yours?"

"Yeah," Liam answered.

Well, they weren’t exactly friends, but he couldn’t tell them that Rose ran a company he had initially created to launder money, and is now quickly evolving into an organization of its own.

Also, she was addicted to sucking his blood.

Yeah, no, ’friends’ should suffice for now.

"Want to join us?" Eli spoke up, "we’re playing detective."

"Sure," Rose nodded with a smile on her face.

She moved toward the table, but before she could sit d.wn, Eli quickly stood up, "You can take my seat."

Everyone immediately looked at him, and he froze.

"I mean..." He awkwardly scratched the back of his head. "It’s closer to the table

"Thanks, Eli," Rose said and the boy’s ears turned red.

"You’re welcome."

Liam looked at him and then at Rose, before a grin appeared on his lips, but he chose to say nothing....for now.

The chance for teasing his baby brother would present itself.

Unfortunately for him, a certain someone misunderstood the smile on his face as one meant for Rose.

Rose, completely unaware of the situation, simply took Eli’s former seat and looked at the cards on the table.

"So, how does this work?"

Liam was about to explain when he noticed Olivia’s expression, which confused him for a second before he realized.

’Oh,’ He immediately understood what had happened.

She probably thought he was smiling at Rose when he noticed his little brother’s reactions to her.

The hitman had to suppress a laugh, finding the fact that she was jealous... cute.

He leaned toward Olivia and whispered, "What’s with that face?"

"What face?" Olivia responded, feigning ignorance.

"That one," Liam pointed out before adding, "are you jealous?"

"I am not!" Her voice came out louder than she had intended, pulling the attention of the others and causing her face to become just as red as Eli’s.

Liam chuckled at this, before he leaned closer and whispered again, "I was smiling because of Eli."

Olivia seemed confused for a second, as she asked, "Eli?"

Liam nodded toward his younger brother, "Look at him."

Olivia followed his gaze.

Eli was sitting on the floor now, doing his best to look completely normal even though his ears were still bright red.

Lea was staring at him with the biggest grin imaginable.

Olivia’s eyes widened slightly as she also understood why the kid was like that. "Oh."

"Yeah," Liam nodded, his smile getting wider, "it seems my little brother has a crush."

She nodded for a while before the fact that Liam had immediately realized that she was jealous, set in.

Olivia’s face immediately went red again, fortunately, Raika came to her rescue as she said, "alright then, since everyone now understands the game, shall we get started again?"

"Hmm," Liam nodded before he picked a card from the deck and smiled, "let’s play again."
