Chapter 182: Chapter 181: Reward: Medium-Range Stock Trend Chart

Thinking of the stock trend chart from earlier, she realized that with an initial capital of ten billion, a tenfold return would yield a hundred billion. That was far more lucrative than running a typical company. Stocks were truly always the most profitable venture.

But they were also the quickest way to lose money. If the market moved against one’s position, the immediate scramble was figuring out how to sell.

[DING! An anomaly detected in the mid-range stock trend chart! Target: A certain foreign luxury brand—Dolce & Gabbana—has engaged in anti-Veridian behavior. Host, please seize this opportunity!]

Hearing the system’s broadcast, Rian Sinclair pressed her tongue against the roof of her mouth and turned to Quentin Sinclair. "Have the traders come see me later."

Quentin didn’t know what Miss was planning. After a moment of thought, he said slowly, "Miss, if it’s urgent, Helios Financial has a branch right here in Argent. We can call them over immediately."

Rian’s eyes lit up. "Have them come over now. There’s a big fish for them to catch."

Quentin nodded and immediately went to contact the company’s traders. Gauging the urgency of the matter, he ordered them to arrive at the villa before noon. To give them extra motivation, he naturally dangled a financial incentive. After all, Quentin despised making empty promises; he preferred to keep his subordinates compliant with cold, hard cash.

Rian picked up her coffee and took a sip. She was familiar with Dolce & Gabbana. Although she had never bought a single item from them, she hadn’t expected the brand to engage in behavior insulting to Veridia. As a result, the brand’s image in the hearts of the Veridian people would plummet. When that happened...

Rian’s lips curled into a faint smile. She looked at Quentin and asked, "Are they here yet?"

Knowing exactly who she meant, Quentin checked the watch on his wrist. "Miss, the traders should arrive in about five minutes."

Rian nodded and turned to Ethan Sinclair, who stood nearby. "Find a room and get things ready."

Ethan had been standing off to the side for a while and had overheard bits of the conversation. He deduced that Miss was about to trade stocks. As a qualified butler, Ethan had learned a great deal about a vast array of subjects. He immediately went to prepare everything needed. Security was already a given, with guards stationed all around the villa. Confidentiality was also guaranteed; aside from himself, almost everyone nearby belonged to Miss’s core staff.

Once everything was set, Ethan stepped forward. "Miss, everything is ready."

Seeing the newcomers, Ethan correctly guessed they were the arriving traders. Rian gave a slight nod and looked at the row of people standing before her. "Let’s head to the workspace first."

She walked over to Ethan, who led the way to the prepared workspace. Seeing the setup before her, Rian couldn’t help but sigh in her heart. She thought, "Even butlers are fiercely competitive nowadays!"

Displaying excellent professionalism, the traders took their seats. One woman stepped forward. Aware of Rian’s identity, she bowed slightly and asked, "Ms. Sinclair, what do you need us to do?"

Rian looked at the person before her, her eyes filled with appreciation. Whether it was her speech or her professional demeanor, the woman’s caliber was exceptionally high.

Quentin approached Rian, whispered a few words to her, and then took his place behind her.

Rian took her seat and smiled faintly at the group. "Take a seat, everyone."

The woman didn’t quite understand, but she sat down nonetheless.

Rian cast an appreciative glance at the seated woman. She wore a black blazer paired with a knee-length pencil skirt that complemented her excellent figure. Rian asked slowly, "What’s your name?"

The woman was momentarily stunned but replied composedly. "Hello, Ms. Sinclair. My name is Rose Young. I am the general manager of Helios Financial, Valoria Branch."

Rian nodded. Rose Young. She remembered seeing that name in the folder Quentin had handed her earlier. Her professional capabilities were outstanding.

"I know you. You graduated from Harvard University in Meridia. During your time there, you won various awards, practically sweeping every honor available. Your professional competence is quite impressive."

Rose smiled faintly. "Thank you for the compliment, Ms. Sinclair. You are even more remarkably accomplished at such a young age."

Rose’s words were no mere flattery; they were facts. Even though she had some idea of who the behind-the-scenes boss was, meeting her face-to-face was still profoundly shocking. Such a young woman was actually the true master of the Sinclair Group, an empire whose reach spanned a terrifyingly vast number of industries. Technology, medicine, biology, entertainment, finance, catering... They had a hand in all of them.

Rian didn’t waste any more time on small talk. Looking at the seated group, her lips curved into a slow smile. "I called you all here today because I’ve received some inside information.

"I won’t mince words. Our target this time is a massive one. It’s the luxury brand from Country Y—Dolce & Gabbana. I believe everyone here knows this company."

Dolce & Gabbana?

Dolce & Gabbana was a brand founded in 1985 by Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana. Headquartered in Country Y, it had become one of the premier international conglomerates in the luxury sector.

Everyone in the room was astonished by Rian’s words. This was a top-twenty global luxury brand. Ms. Sinclair actually wanted to make a move against this powerhouse?

Since the Dolce & Gabbana incident had not yet occurred, the rest of the team looked entirely bewildered by Ms. Sinclair’s declaration. After all, why would a perfectly healthy company suddenly present the kind of opportunity she was implying?

But Rian had already seen the company’s fate on the mid-range stock trend chart. Knowing that the brand was practically courting its own destruction, she certainly didn’t mind playing the role of a modern-day Robin Hood, delivering a crushing blow right to Dolce & Gabbana’s face.

Rose’s expression quickly shifted. The moment Rian finished speaking, Rose turned to her computer and began analyzing Dolce & Gabbana’s recent stock trends.

After reviewing the data, Rose looked momentarily puzzled. She asked with a hint of uncertainty, "Ms. Sinclair, Dolce & Gabbana’s stock has consistently remained high, albeit with some volatility. At times, it’s even higher than Hermès, the aristocrat of luxury goods. If we buy their stock, there won’t be much profit to make, right?

"The current share price is already quite steep. If we buy in, it’s virtually impossible for it to rise much higher."

Upon seeing the stock information, Rose immediately broke down the pros and cons of buying in. Given the current situation, there was absolutely no reason to enter a long position; they wouldn’t make any money.

However, Rian was Rose’s employer. Rose wasn’t foolish enough to interrogate her boss. After all, she had no time to engage in such a thankless task.

The others quietly agreed with Rose’s assessment, though no one stepped forward to voice their opposition. Having only just met Ms. Sinclair, none of them were sure what kind of person she truly was. Consequently, they all kept their mouths shut.

Rian read the skepticism in their eyes and knew they disagreed. But Rian possessed a system; the advanced technology it rewarded her with was bound to be infinitely more reliable than the rumors traded by ordinary people.

Hearing Rose’s words, she couldn’t help but laugh. "Who said I wanted to bet on it rising? I’m shorting it. I’m betting on a total collapse!"

Rose’s mind raced at Rian’s words, mentally reviewing the brand’s recent activities. After a long moment, she spoke up. "A total collapse? That’s impossible. It’s a legacy brand. How could its value suddenly plummet out of nowhere?"
