Chapter 160: Chapter 159: Taking the System to Chase Stars Live

After changing her clothes, Rian Sinclair prepared to head to the live venue for *Idol Debut*.

With the first live public performance of *Idol Debut* fast approaching, the production team had opened the audience channels. Fans would attend the live show, which was also being broadcast in real-time online. Netizens could chat in the livestream room, and whenever a performance wasn’t actively happening, their comments would stream across the giant screens at the venue.

Since Rian was the boss of Radiant Entertainment and the primary investor for *Idol Debut*, the production team had been incredibly "generous," gifting her a massive stack of VIP tickets. However, Rian didn’t accept all of them.

The VIP section was located right by the front stage, offering the best chance for close interactions with the idols. Because of this, VIP tickets were exceedingly rare and highly sought after, with scalpers driving prices up to tens of thousands of yuan each.

Rian held the tickets, feeling a bit bored, and looked over at Quentin Sinclair. He hadn’t returned overseas yet, so he had plenty of free time. "You’re coming with me later."

Rian had only taken three tickets: one for Quentin, one for herself, and the last one reserved for the System. Even though the System couldn’t physically manifest, she insisted on making it feel included.

[Thank you, Host!]

The System’s voice echoed in her ears. Rian simply smiled and said nothing.

On the night of the performance.

Wearing a light blue knee-length dress, Rian raised an eyebrow as she glanced at Quentin. The guy was still wearing his eternal, unchanging suit. She smiled but said nothing.

After all, he was technically going to inspect the work on her behalf, not just going out to play.

Quentin held an umbrella in his hand. Mid-September was still somewhat hot, though not as scorching as the previous months. Like a true gentleman, he shielded his young lady from the harsh sunlight.

Rian looked at the crowds of people lining up. Every girl and boy held a glowing light stick supporting their favorite idol.

The girl groups had finished their performances last night. Today was the boy groups’ turn, so the crowd consisted mostly of female fans, though there were quite a few male fans as well.

A sea of people surrounded them. Most of the attendees were young fans of the various trainees or mentors, and everyone radiated a vibrant, youthful energy. Some were chatting eagerly amongst themselves, seemingly discussing their favorite idols.

Rian retracted her gaze. "Let’s go."

Quentin protectively guided Rian while several bodyguards approached to flank her. They escorted her toward the VIP channel, ensuring she wouldn’t be jostled by the dense crowd or harmed by anyone with malicious intent.

The surrounding fans were drawn by this grand entrance. They pulled out their phones to record, whispering and gossiping among themselves.

"Who is that?"

"Could she be an idol?"

"Wait, isn’t this the boy group performance?"

"Then who is she? Someone’s secret girlfriend?!"

"Holy crap, no way! Getting involved in a scandal before they even officially debut? Who can relate to this pain, guys?!"

"Don’t talk nonsense! Sagan has already debuted, so... holy crap, what am I even saying?!"

"Sister, what are you talking about?!"

"What?! Sagan has a girlfriend?!"

"Stop stirring up trouble! Don’t make blind guesses!"

"This woman has such a huge entourage. But if our Miss Innocent were here, could her entrance even compare to Miss Innocent’s?"

"Holy crap! You’re a fan of Miss Innocent too?!"

"What? Where are the Miss Innocent fans?! I am too! Look over here!"

Just like that, the crowd of boys and girls who had come to watch *Idol Debut* began loudly discussing who else was a fan of The Innocent Heiress and why they loved The Innocent Heiress so much.

Rian thought to herself, "Please, my little darlings, this is the home ground of *Idol Debut*. Please give your attention to them."

Meanwhile, if the trainees of *Idol Debut* could hear this, they would surely say, "No, no, no, just focus on the boss! We don’t mind at all!"

The show wouldn’t officially start for quite a while. The final ten remaining trainees hadn’t gone straight to hair and makeup yet; instead, they were busily practicing their upcoming songs and dance routines.

Although they had already secured their spots to debut, they were all trying their best to fight for the center position.

After Quentin handed her off to the venue staff, he took his leave. However, Rian politely declined a guided tour from the manager, choosing instead to wander around the venue with Aiden Sinclair.

Back when the show had just started, all the trainees shared a single large practice room and took group classes with invited instructors. Later, they were divided into five tiered classes—Class A, Class B, Class C, Class D, and Class E—each assigned to one of five separate practice rooms.

Now, in all likelihood, Sagan—who had the highest vote count and was already locked in for the center position—had his own practice room, while the other nine members debuting in the group LE shared another.

As Rian and Aiden walked, they noticed one of the practice room doors was left wide open.

Rian approached but didn’t enter the room, choosing to stand by the doorway.

An intense, upbeat instrumental track blared from within. A stylishly dressed young man wearing a headset microphone was singing and dancing in front of the mirrors. The back of his oversized short-sleeved shirt was thoroughly drenched in sweat.

Having undergone systematic training, the young man moved his limbs with fluid grace. He possessed a strong sense of dance, grasped the rhythm perfectly, and conveyed genuine emotion—he was a far cry from the soulless, dancing robots some people described.

Still, there were occasional minor mistakes. An instructor supervising from the sidelines immediately shouted, "Stop!"

Sagan didn’t say a word. He stopped at once and looked up at the man. The instructor looked Sagan up and down before speaking slowly, "You’ve made immense progress.

"When you first arrived, you hadn’t undergone any systematic training. Your limbs were a bit stiff when you danced, and you struggled slightly to keep up with the rhythm. You looked completely flustered, like a short-circuiting robot.

"I could tell you were working extremely hard back then, but your dance foundation was weak. Dancing requires basics and time; it’s very difficult to improve significantly in the short term.

"But now, you are completely different. Even though you make some minor mistakes, you correct them instantly. Your ability to learn is incredibly strong. Both your sense of dance and your musicality are fantastic. Earning the center debut position fully proves that you have the skills to back it up."

The instructor looked at Sagan and smiled. He had personally witnessed Sagan’s growth the entire time. "I hope you can deliver an extraordinarily brilliant performance in this final show."

Sagan was still panting slightly from the intense routine. Hearing this, he nodded and replied, "I understand. Thank you for your guidance, sir."

The instructor nodded and patted Sagan on the shoulder. "Take a break for now. I’ll head out to the front hall first. Keep it up!"

With that, the man walked toward the door.

Rian stood quietly by the doorway, watching. As the instructor exited, he spotted his boss. Just as he was about to call out a greeting, he saw her shake her head.

The instructor knew Rian was the boss of Radiant Entertainment. Although he didn’t know why she wanted to keep quiet, he nodded respectfully and walked away, harboring a trace of confusion. Rian said nothing, her gaze resting quietly on Sagan inside the practice room.

Leaning against the doorframe, she clearly saw that Sagan had barely rested for five minutes before he stood back up. He hit play on the instrumental track and resumed his singing and dancing practice in front of the mirror.

Seeing this, Rian furrowed her brows slightly, noting that he was being disobedient at such a crucial juncture.

CLAP CLAP CLAP.

The sound of applause echoed through the room.

Sagan stopped his movements and turned around.

"Boss."

Rian lowered her hands, looking at the youth before her. He was panting slightly as he spoke. The stray hairs on his forehead were plastered down with sweat, and beads of perspiration rolled down his cheeks. His already refined face looked even more flushed and fair, and his soaked shirt clung tightly to his chest, giving his innocent aura a subtle, alluring edge of sexiness.
