Chapter 101: Chapter 101: Scott Sutton’s Other Identity

Inside the car.

Quentin Sinclair looked at the casually scattered papers and reached out to tidy them up. Then, glancing at the land deed, he spoke up, "Miss, what do you plan to do with the land rights to this shrine? Are you going to sell it back to the Sakurans at a high price?"

If the young lady wanted to go that route, he could make the Sakurans bleed a fortune.

Rian Sinclair glanced at the documents in Quentin’s hands and joked, "Since this piece of land is mine, get some people ready. We’re going to blow up every single building on my property."

She looked down at the land contract in her hands. There was a clause stating that if the other party refused to cooperate, the owner had the right to use forceful measures against anyone trespassing on their land—such as forced demolition.

Rian read the latter part of the clause. It truly resonated with her. She wondered how a mere arms dealer like Scott Sutton could wield such massive influence.

Remembering something, Rian turned to the side and said, "Quentin, look into Scott Sutton’s background."

Quentin nodded in agreement. He opened the laptop resting beside him and started typing away. It didn’t take long before a background profile appeared on the screen, but one glance told Rian it was incomplete. This guy had hidden his identity quite well. Although Quentin had dug up a considerable amount of information, it didn’t include the specific details Rian was looking for.

Thinking of the system that hadn’t shown up in a while, she called out inwardly, "System, can you look him up?"

[Yes. Please wait a moment.]

[Scott Sutton does indeed have another identity. He is the biological son of the current head of the Brown Family, the most powerful of The Five Great Families in Meridia.]

[The majority of the Brown Family’s current corporate assets are being tilted in Scott’s favor. He took his mother’s surname. His father loves his mother very much and has no history of infidelity.]

Rian leaned back against her seat. The Brown Family? The head of The Five Great Families in Meridia. And Scott Sutton was the heir. Then he must be insanely rich. No wonder the Sakurans gave Scott some face. The forces backing him were indeed quite intimidating. But that still didn’t change the fact that the Sakurans were nothing but bootlickers.

Quentin put the laptop away as the car sped down the road. He had already begun making preparations for the young lady’s explosive plans.

Upon returning to the villa, Rian led the way and sat down on the sofa in the first-floor lobby. Quentin stood to the side, holding two notebooks.

"Quentin, find the person who sold these notebooks in The Undercity," she ordered.

Quentin nodded.

Rian waved her hand dismissively. "Keep these two notebooks safe for now. Tomorrow, we’ll head back to Veridia and hand the items over to the museum. After that, we’ll go straight to Sakuran."

Having given her instructions, she headed upstairs. After all, it was around midnight Vestria time, and Rian was genuinely exhausted.

After freshening up, Rian’s head hit the pillow, and she fell asleep in seconds. Even the system couldn’t help but admire her incredibly high-quality sleep.

Early the next morning.

With sleepy eyes, Rian looked at herself in the mirror. She leaned softly against the wall like she had no bones while brushing her teeth.

[DING! You are currently at a check-in location! Would the host like to check in now?]

Rian had been steeped in drowsiness, but the system’s sudden voice made her jolt, nearly causing her to swallow a mouthful of toothpaste foam. Shooting a resentful glare, she rinsed the foam out of her mouth, freed up her lips, and said, "Check in."

[DING! Check-in successful! Congratulations to the host for receiving Giggle-Gaggle Isle.]

[The island is currently covered in a tropical rainforest. If the host wishes to develop it into a resort, please construct it yourself and pay close attention to safety!]

Hearing the check-in reward, Rian wondered why it was yet another island. Lately, she seemed to be inexplicably tied to islands. But then she noticed the system’s explicit warning to "pay close attention to safety." She wondered just how unsafe it could be.

"Tell me the details about the island," she said.

[DING!]

[Giggle-Gaggle Isle covers an area of 1,268 square kilometers and is surrounded by the sea. Small tsunamis occasionally occur around it. It is recommended to travel to the island via helicopter. Giggle-Gaggle Isle is the largest island in its region. Its interior consists of approximately 1,043 square kilometers of tropical rainforest, which harbors many hidden dangers, including giant ferocious beasts. Proceed with extreme caution!]

Rian listened to the island’s conditions and wondered what use it could possibly be. She couldn’t live there, traveling to it was a hassle, and it was fraught with danger.

Losing interest in the reward, Rian changed her clothes, went downstairs, and had breakfast. She sat on the sofa by the floor-to-ceiling windows. The soft morning sunlight spilled in as she curled up in a corner of the couch, head bowed as she played on her phone.

The moment she logged into Sharkstream, Rian’s phone lagged and crashed—yet again!

After waiting a moment, she tapped the app again. Once more, she was greeted by a "99+" notification on her message list. Rian opened her profile and saw that her previous post about giving away red envelopes had gone viral once again. Looking at the staggering number of likes, comments, saves, and shares, Rian fell silent. Staring at the analytics, she wondered if she had become an internet celebrity.

After a moment of silence, Rian opened the comments section. The most popular comments were pinned at the top, and she read through them with a sense of helplessness.

[I hope Miss Innocent can help me find a girlfriend!]

[I hope Miss Innocent can help me find a boyfriend!]

Looking at these two comments, Rian wondered how they managed to avoid interfering with each other and just looked for their respective partners. It was exactly like a university confession wall, where the two groups of people looking for dates never crossed paths. Moreover, Rian was just an unpretentious wealthy person! She wasn’t some magical turtle in a wishing well!

She continued scrolling down.

[I hope The Innocent Heiress can let me experience the joy of being a rich woman! I want to be a wealthy heiress for once!]

[I hope Miss Innocent starts a live stream. I’ve never tipped a rich person in my life.]

[Can The Innocent Heiress gift me a sports car?]

[Can Miss Innocent give me an apartment?]

[I want to get up close and personal with my idol!]

Rian finished reading the top thirty comments. Simply put, it wasn’t too bad, though overall, each request was more outrageous than the last. Someone even said they wanted to have her babies!

Rian felt it was necessary to step up and speak out for herself. She immediately posted a comment.

[Don’t make your wishes too outrageous. I’m just someone with a bit of money, not a magical turtle in a wishing well.]

After posting it, Rian pinned her comment to the top. After all, the netizens these days were truly ridiculous! They didn’t want money, but instead wanted relationships? Were their words really trustworthy? Were they just hopelessly romantic, or simply thirsty?

Seeing everyone making wishes in the comments section, Rian actually found herself intrigued. She decided to pick a few people and make their wishes come true.

Curled up in the corner of the sofa, she was reading the comments with great interest when she suddenly heard Quentin’s voice.

"Miss, it’s time to head back to the country."

Rian stood up. "Is there any news from their side?"

"Are we returning to Veridia with Mr. Kyle?" Quentin asked.

"Go ask him. If we can go together, we will," she replied.

Quentin nodded and stepped away to make the arrangements. It wasn’t long before they received Kyle’s reply.

Rian looked at Venus and instructed, "You’ll stay here at the manor."

Venus paused her steps, then nodded respectfully, watching as the group departed.

At the airport.

The two parties met in the terminal. Aiden Sinclair walked over, leading Mr. Kyle. Rian smiled and extended her hand. "Hello, Mr. Kyle. I’m Rian Sinclair."
