Chapter 2116 A Piece of Truth (4)
This move from Elgorath was not the finisher that he thought it would be. Xyris was still howling from the pain of Eos’s Origin power ravaging his body, and when Elgorath scratched out Eos’s eyes, the power of his Origin burst out from within his head with so much intensity that all the power of memories in Elgorath’s fingers were washed away and his sight was instantly restored in a flash of silver fire that scorched Elgorath’s hands to golden char.
Elgorath staggered back in shock as he looked at his hand that was slowly transforming to glass under the relentless encroachment of Eos’s powers, but this distraction was dangerous when fighting someone like Eos, who grabbed Elgorath’s throat.
He applied force on his thumbs, and they dug deeper into Elgorath’s throat, crushing his windpipe with a wet snap. Elgorath gurgled as blood bubbled from his mouth, and his eyes grew crazy with anger and fear. Like an animal, he lunged forward despite his head nearly falling off and bit into Eos’s shoulder, and began moving his head from left to right like a shark, causing his teeth to tear the muscles on Eos’s shoulders into bloody chunks.
Xyris, who had been screaming in pain and acting as if he could not move, unexpectedly crawled forward while picking up the rib of Eos that had been thrown to the ground from Elgorath’s savagery.
With his one arm, he quickly crawled behind Eos, who was trying to tear the maddened Elgorath away from his body, and he stabbed Eos in the back with his own severed rib. The bone punched through various organs inside Eos’ body, and Xyris twisted the bone, causing a dull grinding sound to emerge that would set the teeth on edge.
It was important to note that while this fight seemed incredibly primal and barbaric, this was simply because of the perception of the combatants. Anyone else who would view this battle from the side would simply see enormous clouds of power that stretched for infinity that were colliding and tearing themselves apart.
If this fight had been happening outside the Hollow, then a lot of it would have been destroyed in the clash, and if there were Realities along the way of the battle, then they would have been destroyed. When the elephant fights, it is indeed the grass that suffers.
From the beginning of the fight, the Ancient Primordials had been burning dozens of Origin Force every second just to maintain themselves at a level where they could even hurt Eos.
Unlike them, Eos did not have any Origin Essence barriers over his flesh. It made sense because even till this moment, the madman refused to reach the ninth-dimensional level.
However, he had a passive shield on his flesh that was hard to tear through, and even then, his flesh and bones were impossibly durable and thick, and only with fighting at their peak could they tear through his flesh.
Elgorath could feel his hands cramping when that should be impossible, and he thoroughly hated himself for falling in this situation where he could be shattered at a moment’s notice because of one act of carelessness.
Nyxara, who was hiding in the distance, watched this fight in stunned silence. The battle had grown red hot in a manner that was not expected in the least. She could easily trace this to Elgorath, who had attacked Eos with unbridled savagery, and Eos had responded in kind, causing her to rethink all the interactions she had with him. Whatever was coming, she had to be ready, Nyxara thought to herself white ignoring the painful sensation in her heart as Mercy shook.
The fight continued in ernest and one crazy fact that Elgorath picked upon was that despite all the damage they had poured upon the body of Eos, his regeneration still surpassed their own. Xyris had barely healed a single leg, but Eos was already standing, both of his legs healing to more than forty percent, and before long, he would be fully healed.
Xyris twisted the rib again and stabbed Eos several times, trying to reach his heart. Eos roared from the pain of being impaled, and he headbutted Elgorath again, smashing his mad face to pulp. Golden blood sprayed, mixing with Eos’s own.
He pulled the Destroyer free and swung blindly, and the blade caught Xyris across the face, splitting jaw in a fountain of purple sand and teeth. Xyris’s scream was wet, garbled, as his tongue lolled from the wound.
“Myy fascceh…” the Primordial of Time screamed as Elgorath, whose face was also ruined, grabbed Eos’s arm and twisted, causing the bone to snap with a crack like thunder.
Eos’s scream was raw, almost animal-like, but unlike the Primordials here, he did not run from pain but embraced it.
He dropped the Destroyer, but kicked it toward him with his still healing leg, causing his bones to grind together painfully, but this motion was enough to shift the blade towards his other hand, and he snatched it up and drove it into Elgorath’s chest, tearing his heart in two and slightly nicking his Origin Core.
Elgorath coughed, his eyes wide with panic, and he stepped back, pulling his body away from the Destroyer’s blade that was greedily drinking the essence of the Primordial, and as the blade left his body, golden light exploded from the wound, sending out a shockwave of memories flooding out in a torrent that burned Eos’s skin like acid.
This explosion was as if a trillion trillion gigantic supernovae had gone off at once, and even Nyxara in the distance flinched when the flood of painful memories washed through her position.
The walls of the Hollow could no longer contain the reverberations of this fight as the entire Ten Thousand Origin Realms above trembled, causing the New Primordials to look around in shock.
Deep in the center of the explosion, Xyris, jaw hanging, saw that Eos, who had received the majority of the blast, was stunned by it, and he screamed in pain, carving out another piece of his Origin and freezing Eos’s heart in time.
Eos’s powerful heart stopped mid-beat, causing his chest to seize in agony. He gasped as he could no longer pull power from his core into the rest of his body.
“Fuck this game,” he grunted and pulled upon more power from his core, and his frozen heart shattered the barrier of time, causing Xyris to be knocked back by the backlash as Eos’s heart stuttered back to life, but still in that short moment, the damage was done, as his arrhythmia pounding in his ears like war drums, since his heart was still filled with the essence of time.
“Is that the best you can do?” he growled as he reached for his Destroyer.
