Chapter 2106 Realization And Horror
Chapter 2106 Realization And Horror
Death was satisfied with the place that Eos had made for it, although the realm was missing the essential essence of Death, but that was not a great problem. With the usage of the technique given to it by the Temple, Death would be able to regain back all it had lost and more.
The Beast would have been suspicious if it had seen Essence of Death lying around because it knew that these essences would only come from the Ancient Primordials, and would have clued it in that Eos may not be doing this alone.
Being so close to its salvation, the Beast decided to pause and think about this situation for a moment. For one, it was already beaten, and Eos would find it better to kill it than to trap it, but if Eos killed it, then he would still have to face other enemies, including the Ancient Primordials that were growing extremely powerful.
But with the help of the Great Death, Eos could be sure that the Ancient Primordials would be eradicated under its fury. If it were Eos, then this would be the option that it would pick.
“You picked the right choice, Eos. Your help to me in my time of need would not be forgotten. Do not worry, I do not forget these moments, and I shall repay them in full.”
Raising its broken head up, it drifted elegantly through the door to its realm of rest, but the moment it crossed the outer membrane and looked around in satisfaction, already thinking of raising an altar to begin summoning the fiends of death to this realm that it would make into its new domain, Eos struck.
There was no warning or any grand speech, just the edge of Destroyer’s blade falling on its neck, as Eos sliced downward. On the edge of the blade, Eos had coated it with part of the enlightenment he had gained by seeing the weight of the Tenth Dimension’s glimpse.
He had imbued this weight with the power of his Proto-Dimensions, causing the edge of the Destroyer to glow with a blinding silver light which resembled the color of the road beyond all roads.
The edge of his Destroyer was matchless, and it sliced through the flesh of Death, driving straight into the Beast’s core, and the impact of this devastating cut was silent, but the effect… apocalyptic.
The Beast screamed, a sound that would have torn fractures across the ten thousand Origin Realms, but Eos had made sure that the outer membrane of this realm was covered extremely well by countless runes of defense made from the pure Origin Essence of his New Primordials.
Death convulsed after its screams became choked in its throat, thrashing wildly as the insight inside the Destroyer rewrote its very nature.
Where the silver light touched, the Beast’s stolen Deaths began to unravel in reverse. Harvested extinctions that had made it strong now turned toxic, devouring it from within. The Beast’s shadow-body began to collapse inward, shrinking, cracking, and leaking torrents of raw Origin Force into the void that was hungrily devoured by the realm around it.
This move that Eos made did not come out of nowhere, but he had perfectly imitated the moves used by the Golems against the Ancient Primordials, and as it turned out, his first test was a rather stunning success.
There were many things about that battle that did not make sense, including the ease with which the Golem was able to reverse the powers of the Ancient Primordials and use them against them, or how it could attack without any trace.
The shocked and dying Beast must have realized that Eos had just used the same moves that the Golem had used, and something inside Death broke, because from all indications, Eos was also working with the Temple of End.
Great fury erupted in its dying core as it howled with a fractured voice, “TRAITOR! You promised sanctuary!”
Eos’s face was calm, but there was an almost sorrowful light in his eyes. “I promised you would live long enough to serve a purpose. This is your purpose.”
He stepped forward and drove both hands into the Beast’s fracturing core. The unfiltered light of his Origin Land that had become purer after it was tempered by the insight he had gained after perfectly refining his core poured into the wound, causing the Beast’s body to convulse violently.
“Stop… please stop… do not kill me, I can be of use to the Temple. I can stand at your door as its guardian, looking no further beyond my station. Please stop killing me.”
Eos was silent as he continued purging the core of the Beast. The challenge he had here was not in killing the Beast; it was doing it in such a way that its death would not be felt by the Temple of End.
Death, as he had learned, was not just an entity born by the Existence; it had become tampered with when it decided to serve the Temple of End for more power. Of course, that power came with restraints; there were the obvious ones and the hidden ones, and Eos would have never been able to understand what these restraints were if he had not moved outside of Existence and seen the true nature of Existence and of the higher dimensions.
Inside the body of the Beast were countless locks, made with not just the power of the first and second Proto-Dimensions, but with the Parallel Realities power of the sixth dimension.
Death had so many hidden chains inside it that this Beast could as well be the pet of the Temple of End, and yet it did not understand this. Eos, using his Will as a scalpel, began to cut out all of these locks from the Beast.
Because the essence of Death was so powerful that even if he cut out these locks, those pieces would not die anytime soon unless he destroyed them, and so if he could cleanly remove all the restrictions inside the body of the Beast, the Temple would not know of its fate.
The Beast had been crying for freedom all of its life, but at the moment of its death, it began to truly sense what that freedom was like, and it was not a fool as it quickly realized what was happening.
If Eos was a part of the Temple, there was no reason it should be removing all of these restrictions, and if Eos had the power to remove these restrictions, it meant that somehow this child that was born not too long ago had been able to discover the hidden secret of the Temple that made it a dominant force above all creation.
Realization and horror flooded the eyes of the Beast as it looked at Eos, who was slowly dismantling it into pieces.
How could this have happened? When did everything begin to go wrong?
Even in its fear and horror came a slight bit of hope, and Death felt great regret that when Eos was weak, he had not allied with him and damned the Temple. It knew that this power that Eos was using would never be released by the Temple, and that meant that alone, he had figured it out for himself.
