Chapter 2105 Greed Winning Over Reason

Chapter 2105  Greed Winning Over Reason

Eos’s words carried the power of his Will, and so it brought with it all the information the Beast would need to know about the sanctuary that Eos was offering.

It was a world built from the essence of his Origin Realms, which was hidden in its shadow. This was a space that only Eos knew of, and if it could hide here, no one would be able to find it until it revealed itself or the Origin Realms were destroyed.

The Beast knew that the Origin Realms would not be easily destroyed even if they were conquered, and so it was greatly assured of this realm’s safety.

In addition to this, there were the words Eos had said about its interaction with End. Only a fool would not see that the Beast had lost most of its Dominion, and soon it would not be able to stand at all in the stage of Existence, and if it does not want to be devoured, it either serves a higher power, or becomes the Avatar of End.

However, in its present state, it would not be able to bargain for any suitable benefit in this arrangement, and the chance to recover to pick any choice that suits his needs was almost too good to believe.

The Beast answered Eos almost immediately. Its shattered form coalesced in front of him like a ragged shadow, tendrils trailing like torn intestines from its body, and one cracked eye glowing with desperate suspicion.

Even after this time, the Beast had not been able to heal, and the taints of the Ancient Primordials still lingered in its flesh.

The once mighty ruler of death was now a pitiful thing, barely holding itself together, its leaking essence painted the void behind it in slow, black spirals. Death was powerful, but its nature also worked against it, as the way it healed was to cut off, and if it stil had its domain, it could have all the resources needed to heal itself back again, but without this option, and with the constant harassment from the Ancient Primordials, it could not gather any Essence for Existence for its use.

It also did not help that Limbo was shrinking, as a lot of power that Death consumed came from the corrupted essence of End and Existence, and it was extremely barren, with barely any deathly essence for it to consume.

Looking at Eos, who seemed to be in perfect shape with eyes glowing with impossible vitality, the Beast shook.

“You expect me to trust you?” it rasped, and Eos could hear the deep tiredness in that voice. The Beast was under far more pressure than he had anticipated, which was a good thing. Manipulating it would be easier.

Eos opened his hands wide, ensuring that the suspicious corona that was currently circling him was dismissed. After he lost this corona when the Painter attempted to point at him, he no longer saw this light as something simple, and was determined to hide it until he fully understood what it does.

“Trust is unnecessary.” Eos slowly spoke, making sure he was looking deep into the one eye of the Beast so it could see his intent clearly, “Survival, however, is not. The Ancient Primordials hunt you, and the Golem sent by the Temple of End, does it not only watches as you dance on the edge of damnation. You are wise enough to understand what this means. The Temple has given you to the power of End, but they want you to be broken so your power is restricted. Tell me if you think I am wrong?”

The Beast hesitated, its cracked eye narrowed. It would be a fool if it did not see the obvious connection between the Temple of End and the power of End.

Perhaps the Temple had sensed its growing strength, and they knew they would not be able to control it for long, and knowing Lumen, Death knew that it had been sold out to End.

It was a painful reminder that in this realm, there were no eternal friends, just eternal benefits. It was good enough that the Temple had not sent the Golem to restrain and bring it to End, but knowing Lumen, it would prefer seeing the broken form of Death come to the Temple to beg for help, only to be rejected.

Truthfully, Death was about to do this, even when it knew that it had most likely been betrayed, but desperation would make a man dying of thirst to drink poison, and Death was a billion times more desperate than any mortal could ever be.

The silky words of Eos entered its ears as Death felt space shifting, and beside Eos appeared the realm of darkness he had created for it, and Eos gestured towards the realm,

“Inside this place, you may rest, heal, then take your road. The only payment I want is for you to ensure part of your consciousness remains alive after you fuse with End, and to remember the favor I gave to you on this day, and it is my payment for sparing my children if I fail.”

The Beast cocked its head far too much to the side, “Are you so sure that I would follow the path of End, Eos?”

Eos smiled, “Where else would you go? All I know is that this is the best option for me to be able to gain anything from a losing hand. You know me Death, I make plans for everything, for my victories and losses. If I do not call you here and grant you sanctuary, you would soon fall into the hands of End, but if I can give you the strength you need to stand toe to toe with that power, then something might change.”

The Beast shivered; it could hear the truth in the mouth of Eos, and it was indeed going to be picking the path of End, but it knew that in its present state, it would be nothing but a shell just because it was coming to End to flee its doom.

In the height of its power, End had to come to it to request its aid, promising him power beyond measure, and now if it went to End in its present state, it would be lucky to be taken as prey.

Eos was many things, but he was a realist, and he must surely understand the magnificence that was inherent in the body of Death, and knew when to bow to the situation.

It knew that Eos wanted to use its hands to destroy the Ancient Primordials, and Death would give Eos this grace. For one, the Ancient Primordials were now its blood enemies, and after it was done with them, it would go for the Temple and destroy it.

The power that End offers was ridiculous, and Death would take it, and all of Existence would tremble, and Eos would be allowed to live as its slave.

Greed won over reason, and the Beast drifted closer to the edge of the opening to the realm where it would find rest.

It sent tendrils probing the edges like a starving animal sniffing bait, and took several hours checking the depths of the realm with all the information that Eos gave him until he was satisfied.
