Chapter 1657: The Soul of Souls
Chapter 1657: The Soul of Souls
Seed chuckled, “You will let me fight Romion? Ah, why do you believe he would lose against Demon? Look at the state of Reality and the things he has achieved, and still the arrogance of the Primordials does not waver.”
Primordial Life shook his head and smiled sarcastically, “Will you lose against him? The man who killed your daughter and used her body as a receptacle to enter Reality.”
Seed sneered, but he did not reply. Some truths were not to be acknowledged because, with the power of the higher dimensional levels, acknowledging defeat or loss was already moulding your Fate and Destiny, and in battle, this was enough to tip the advantage to the side of your enemies.
Primordial Life nodded his head towards the fused universes ahead, “We as Primordials are beyond such notions as Fate and Destiny, and you should have to trust my words when I say them. Everything that has happened was only made possible because one of us allowed it to happen.”
Seed knew that no matter how much he hated these words from Primordial Life, it was the truth. As impressive as the feats that Rowan was able to accomplish might be, it was only possible because, in some shape or form, the Primordials had allowed it to happen.
For a long time, Seed had reigned almost unchecked in the Land of Miracles, to the point where he refused the summons of Primordial Life. He had imposed his Will upon the Land of Miracles, and everyone feared his wrath, but all of this was a smokescreen, and no matter how high his ambition had reached, he was nothing in the end.
Seed spoke softly, “I know that this is what you will want me to think—the futility of our actions against the might of eternity. I have watched the other Primes break their Thrones in this manner. But do you think I am such trash?! Do your worst, Primordial Life. I shall not face him on your behalf.”
“Then you are useless to me.”
With a flick of his fingers, Seed was vaporized, and Primordial Life sucked the fused universes into his palm, leaving an empty void in front of him. He waved his hand, and a massive plain appeared filled with trees and green grasses, and a bright sun hanging overhead.
Settling down in the middle of the plain, Primordial Life gestured, and eight flat stones grew out of the ground in a circle. In the center of the circle, a shallow pit filled with burning wood appeared.
Sitting on one of the stones, Primordial Life closed his eyes and waited. He sat here for an entire month before a presence appeared beside him and took their seat on one of the eight stones.
Primordial Life did not open his eyes to acknowledge that presence, and the new presence did not acknowledge him either. It was unknown how much time had passed, but four new presences had arrived and taken their place around the fire.
Finally, Primordial Life opened his eyes and looked around at the five Primordials sitting beside him. Then he looked at the fire pit, where a massive beating heart had appeared and was being roasted over the flame.
“Is that the heart of the Primordial Ouroboros Serpent?”
Primordial Light spoke out, wearing the shape of an eight-year-old boy with bright white hair and eyes that resembled two beams of white light. His face was expressionless, as if he were a marble statue of a child. He was breathing, but his chest did not rise; only the air rippled in front of him.
Primordial Life continued speaking, but his inward inhalation never ended, painting an extremely weird scene,
“Chaos, you have outdone yourself. Surely you did not need to bring such a massive boon to the gathering.”
Primordial Chaos, now wearing the form of another of his Chaos Blood children who resembled an old man with fiery red hair, smiled, his mouth was toothless.
His black eyes were unblinking, with his pupils expanding and contracting as if his eyes were breathing. From the corner of his eyes, a dark fluid poured down that soaked his threadbare robe and fell to the ground where it disappeared.
Primordial Chaos answered, his voice sounding shrill and metallic like an insect,
“This is a gathering where we shall drop all pretenses and grievances for the moment, and deliberate on the pressing matters on the ground. The heart of the Ouroboros is my sincerity.”
Primordial Memory, still wearing the body of the Adjudicator, slapped his thigh, saying, “Good talk. Then I shall bring forth something worthy of this gathering. Seeing that we have someone special beside us.”
Saying this, he pulled out the head of a woman and threw it into the fire pit, where it hovered above the flame.
Primordial Demon, wearing the form of a horned demon creature with bat-like wings, peered curiously at the head in the flames, and when he noticed the features of the face, he burst into laughter.
“Don’t tell me you had the head of Soul all this time, and you never used it to get any advantage from him. Memory, I am truly shocked by your generosity. Well, I am not one to hold back in a time like this. Here is what I have to offer to this gathering.”
Saying this, Primordial Demon brought out the spine of a nameless being, still dripping with blood, the spine moved like a dragon, attempting to escape his grip, but when thrown into the flames, it settled down alongside the heart and the head.
“My domain has been awakened early, and my light is weakened. I cannot reach for the depths of my vault to bring out something great,” Primordial Light spoke, his voice far too profound to be emerging from the body of a child. But I do have this, and it should suffice.”
Reaching beside him, he pulled out bleeding internal organs of an unknown being that held lungs, kidneys, intestines, and other internal organs except the heart, and he threw them towards the flames.
Bringing his bloody hands to his lips, he began to mindlessly lick them, his bright white eyes turning to the last members here who had not yet offered anything to the flame. There was a clear threat and madness in those eyes that could not be deciphered.
With the rise of the New Light, the Domain of Primordial Light suffered a significant blow, and his rage was only checked by the other Primordials; otherwise, all of Reality would have been put to the torch under his rage.
Primordial Light was on a tight leash, and that leash was on the verge of snapping. This gathering was pushed for by him, and he was eager to see propriety being broken so he could finally gain an excuse for going out and slaughtering all of Reality who had accepted the glow of the new light.
Primordial Life raised his hands in mock surrender, “I made the earth and the flame, and that is more than enough contribution, but I can see that more is needed to show my sincerity, so I am bringing this forward.”
With a flick of his finger, the skin from a scaly beast was thrown into the fire, and it floated beside the head, spine, heart, and the rest of the internal organs. Primordial Light looked at Life and nodded before his gaze turned to the last mysterious Primordial here.
“You have always wanted to return to Reality. Now is your chance to state your case. If not, this meeting is cancelled, and our age-old agreement will be broken. I tire of this Reality, and if it is time to end this Era, let it happen.”
“Hehehe… I also want to know why your Eye was inside my Throne, as it was sabotaged. Still, I understand the allure of disruption, and this is the place to lay it all out.”
The last primordial sighed and leaned forward so that the light from the flame could touch his figure, which had been hidden in shadows. Purple tentacles stretched from his face, caressing the air, and his five eyes, shaped like cubes, glared at all the Primordials sitting around.
Bringing a clawed finger towards his head, Primordial Time pointed towards a gaping hole in his skull,
“As much as I would like to answer your question, Chaos, I believe that my Eye was taken by you. The way I see it, you should be the one informing us all of its whereabouts, or do you need my skin to hide your duplicity?”
Primordial Chaos smiled, his toothless mouth growing wider like a crocodile, “Well played, Time, but do not forget that the interference of my Throne was clearly observed by Light and Life, and this answer does not belong to me alone.”
Swiping his hand in dismissal, Primordial Time growled, “This is not the moment for such petty nonsense. I am here today to show my stance, and offer to the flame the one thing that you all cannot bring to this gathering, and for that reason, I will not stand for this squabble.”
Reaching into the gaping hole in his face, Primordial Time pulled out a piece of glowing amber. It was the shard of a soul.
“I have the last shard of the Soul of Souls… who dares deny my presence in this gathering?”
