The Primordial Record

Chapter 1656: Shades of The Throne

Chapter 1656: Shades of The Throne

Among the many mysteries that still eluded Rowan, one of them was the presence of the Underverse. This realm that lay just below the material universe was filled with darkness, where creatures that could not withstand the light of day dwelled. Space and time behaved erratically in this realm, and it was mainly used as a form of transportation by lower immortals who used the spatial folding aspect of this space to cross vast distances inside the material universe.

To Rowan, such a space was nothing special; in countless higher dimensions, there were many special spaces like the Underverse that held even more fantastical traits.

However, Rowan could not understand why some universes had an Underverse while most did not. Using his angels, he had searched through trillions of universes in the lower realm, and he had barely seen a million universes with Underverses.

All of these universes were different, and the only commonality between them was the Underverse, but after searching for the purpose of this space, Rowan placed it aside as a mystery that he would solve in the future.

Primordial Life, unlike Rowan, understood the Underverse far more than Rowan ever could, because they were created by him; they were tiny pockets of death essence he was experimenting with, and in one of the Underverse, Rowan Elythia had been born to Elura.

The three separate universes under the power of Primordial Life slammed together, but the calamitous explosion expected from these three massive heavenly bodies crashing together did not happen. Instead, the three universes fit together as if they had always meant to be one.

Every universe had a unique shape; they were far too massive to ever be exact, and the merger of these three universes created a shape that resembled a throne.

Seed, who was watching Primordial Life, drew in a deep breath. As shock and awe filled his gaze, an inkling of what he was witnessing touched the edge of his consciousness; still, he could not fully grasp what it was.

“The shard of his existence was born in the Underverse, and it drew the power of the first Singularity. That bastard never forgave us for his destruction, and even to this day, his malefic touch follows us everywhere.”

The words from Primordial Life were unexpected, and Seed looked at him with a frown. He did not bother asking for clarification. With the attitude of Primordial Life, he would give Seed the answers, but that knowledge would kill him.

Instead, he asked, “What am I looking at here?”

Primordial Life chuckled, “Something that should be impossible. Something that should not exist. Take your pick, it’s all the same. Either it is or it is not, but still I find myself thinking it all to be real.”

Seed whispered under his breath, “That makes no fucking sense.”

“I know, right?” Primordial Life smiled, the smile appeared alien to Seed, who knew he would never move his face in that manner; he knew that Primordial Life was aware of this quirk, and everything he did was purposeful. Seed growled in anger,

“You are here to torture me, do your worst, and let’s get on with it. Your presence is tiresome.”

The eyes of Primordial Life widened, “You dumb child, why would I want to torture you? From your madness, a true miracle has been produced. It may end up being nothing but a mirage in the end, but it does not change that by your sheer stupidity in allying with my brethren in a foolish act to become independent of my influence, you have tapped into the forces of creation that had been forever barred to Primordials.”

Now Seed appeared more confused, and Primordial Life sighed,

“Do you know why we are here? Can you grasp the reason you were carved from my tears?”

Seed’s eyes tightened, “The Primordials always hide their intent, but I have lived long enough to know…” He paused, and Primordial Life gestured,

“Go on,”

“I have lived long enough to know the behavior of a raider. You are here to take, I don’t know what it is, but nothing you and your kin had ever done was for the betterment of Reality, in fact, you all seem to despise Reality, else why would you give the orders that you do.”

” Ah, Seed, I sometimes forget that within that thick skull of yours filled with nothing but the lust of battle, you have a bit of wisdom inside of it.”

” No, you did not,” Seed shook his head, “You never forget, you just pretend that you do. More than any other Prime, even the fickle Memory, I have always hated you the most.”

Primordial Life smiled, “I know, why else do I keep you alive, despite your countless acts of insubordination? You see, I had a thought: What could be born from the extremity of despair and rage? You are a pleasant experiment, one that I thought would bear fruit in many eras in the future, and if not in this reality, then in others. Yet, look at the work of your clumsy hands, Seed, you have given birth to this…”

Primordial Life gestured towards the cluster of universes that resembled a throne, and Seed’s eyes tightened in irritation. This was the first time he was seeing Primordial Life being this animated, and if he genuinely had a hand to play in the happiness of this entity, then Seed greatly regretted whatever he did.

The fact that out of every Primordial in existence, Primordial Life was the only one that could easily create Thrones out of seemingly nothing. His mastery of Life was at the zenith of all existence, and reshaping reality to suit his needs was effortless.

There was no practical reason for Seed’s existence; Primordial Life could easily make a billion of him. However, appearing before Seed, wearing his exact flesh and speaking with his voice, was a subtle reminder to this Old One that his existence was nothing but an experiment for this entity.

“Why have you awakened me?!” Seed roared in anger.

“I awakened you to serve as a lure for the one who is to sit up on that throne. Ten years from now, there shall be a battle, the Demon will win, but you are not going to let him achieve victory.”
