Then I dug through the ground continuously until I found something, and I heard a crew member say he found it, so I went to him and we all began to dig it up as well.

Then I finally saw the treasure chest, so we dug beside it and removed all the dirt from it and lifted it up onto the floor.

Then I saw the lock, and with a heavy attack from my sword I broke it.

Then we saw the treasure inside, and my eyes caught a bracelet, so I grabbed it.

[Congratulations. You found a hidden item. Reward will be awarded to you at the end of the floor.]

My eyes lit up at the sight of a secret item. It must be something important.

Then I looked at the other loot. They are normal loot: gold and other stuff. I let my crew members take them.

And we returned to the ship with all the members, but as soon as we returned a foreign ship came and began to attack us. I screamed for them to get into position and ordered them to repair the ship.

And others went to the cannons and began to attack as well.

The other ship isn’t going to let us go just like that, so while our crew began to retaliate,

Nyx and I went to their ship, and I used my fire to compress into a small ball that holds power to destroy them.

I used most of my mana. My mana is now over 400, so it’s a really powerful attack.

Then I threw it at them.

The fireball went and exploded in the middle of their ship, and I got many kills from it, but their bodies got destroyed.

Then Nyx went and attacked other members, but one strong member of the enemy team stabbed Nyx.

My eyes widened and I went into absolute rage.

I sprinted toward him, and as soon as he retreated his sword to attack me after seeing me coming for him, I didn’t give him the chance and stabbed my blade into his head.

It’s glowing with dark fire, and as soon as my blade passed through him he began to burn to a crisp.

I didn’t even look at the notification. I went toward Nyx and got a high-level healing potion and let her drink it before she even had time to bring out her own.

I looked at her, worry palpable in my eyes. She saw it and just smiled and said, "I’m fine. Go and finish the job, Captain Asher," she said with a half smile.

But I didn’t move. I looked at her wound and made sure she is absolutely fine, and I stayed with her till the end.

And our crew went and dealt with the others, and the mission in the tower completed.

So I didn’t even check the ship loot. I pressed the button to exit the tower.

Then Nyx and I both went out of the tower.

Then we came to the original world.

Nyx came to me, crossed her arms, and looked at me with her icy blue eyes and said, "Hey, I’m not made out of glass. Don’t you go and panic like the world is going to end."

"But..." I opened my mouth to refute.

She shut me down and said, "No buts. You understand death is normal in the tower, and that sword stab didn’t even do much to me, so keep a cool head at all times."

I looked down and nodded. I too wanted to keep a cool head, but for me who had never had family or a person to love, when Nyx entered my life she automatically became the center of it, so I got panicked automatically.

But she is right, so I nodded, and then Nyx said, "I’ll take 10 fruits and the Black Cloak. You can take the other things."

I nodded and got the Volcano Gloves, then looked at them.

I nodded at that and ate all the fruits I have.

Then Nyx and I walked toward our rooms, and I said, "How about we go to the tower tomorrow morning after eating?"

She nodded and came with me to the room area, and she waved at me and left for her room.

I reminded her, as soon as she is ready let’s go and eat at the cafeteria.

She nodded and went to her room, and I went to my room.

Then we took a shower and got ready and went to the cafeteria and ate.

After that we talked about tomorrow’s new floor, then we walked toward our rooms and greeted good night to each other.

Then we both slept in each other’s rooms, and as soon as I got up I took a shower and made my bed.

Then I put on casual clothes and went to wait for Nyx, but she came after only about a minute I was there.

So we both went to the cafeteria again, and I began to get all kinds of food onto my plate and went to a seat with Nyx and began to devour all the food while talking with Nyx.

She looked at me devouring food and said, "You’re cute when you devour all of the food. See, your cheeks are puffed out."

I looked at her, and she laughed at that, and we talked for a few more minutes and went to the tower.

We have to go and gain power there.

Nyx and I went through the portal and went in front of the tower.

Then I went to the tower interface.

[Welcome back to the Tower of Ascension]

[Do you wish to enter the 5th floor of the tower?]

[Yes / No]

I pressed the Yes button, and I got to choose.

[Do you wish to enter solo, duos, or squad?]

I pressed duo, found Nyx’s name at the top, pressed it, and entered Yes.

As soon as I did that, a portal opened and dragged us into it.

While in the darkness I thought about what kind of mission we would receive this time.

Then we arrived at a location that looks like the first test trial in the tower.

There are massive walls on all sides, and I looked around and saw Nyx and many others this time on the tower floor.

So I went to Nyx’s side and asked, "Hey, they look like other people who participated in the tower. Is this something like we have to compete with them or something?"

She shook her head and said, "I don’t know either. Let’s ask one of them."

I nodded. "Good idea."

Then I looked at a guy with blonde hair and immediately decided this is not the guy I’m going to ask, so I looked at the other one who has black hair and looks timid.

"Hey, did you enter the tower alone?"

He shook his head and told me, "No. I came with my party. I’m the scout."

I nodded and asked, "Do you know anything about this floor? Because on previous floors we didn’t meet other people who entered the tower. We only met people inside the tower."

He nodded and said, "Same for us. This is the first floor I saw other people like us."

"I saw a message from the tower that told us to wait until sufficient people gathered and then the mission will be started."

I got surprised by that, and I thanked him for the information and went toward Nyx.

"He said this is his first time as well for something like that, and when he entered the tower gave him a message that it’s waiting for other participants, so I think it’s still waiting. So let’s go to a corner and wait until this starts."

Nyx nodded. "Hm. That’s good. And from the look of it we might have to kill others, so be prepared."

I grinned at that. "Oh, are you worried? I’m pitying them."

"Do not worry. If that comes, I’ll kill them like killing flies."

She nodded and laughed a little.
