Chapter 331 - Elemental Spirit Beast! - Part 1
Chapter 331 - Elemental Spirit Beast! - Part 1
Hemforth City was situated by the river, and it was previously the stronghold of the Sylvia Kingdom built to stop the Armen Kingdom from invading into the plains behind it.
But after the fall of the Sylvia Kingdom, the Noble ruling the Hemforth city defected to the Armen Kingdom, delivering them the way to invade further into the Sylvia kingdom easily.
But the coalition of Armies between Baron Regan and Viscount Bardrick and with some help of Count of Nehmor, they stopped the Armen Kingdom's army at the end of the plains next to the borders from where Baron Regan's fiefdom started.
Now that Alex had defeated and captured the Armen Kingdom's troops on the plains, the vast open and fertile grounds till the Hemforth City was his for the taking.
There came three towns and some villages in between, but Alex's puppets ignored them as their goal was to reach the Hemforth city as soon as possible.
While they were on their way, Alex had already appeared inside a room located in Hemforth City's Inn. It was only midnight, there were many hours left until sunrise.
Alex sat crosslegged on the bed while he listened to the report about the situation on the borders that his spy puppets delivered to him. This was also the time when the terror for Commander Iran and his troops ended and they retreated back from the forest to their camps.
Soon after discussing with his two disciples, Oliver hung over a red-colored cloth outside his tent, which meant he was ready to be taken as a prisoner of war tomorrow.
Sparrow narrated this event to Alex.
'Now that the problem of Oliver, Elaina, and Melinda is solved, let's think about the next part of the plan... Hm, tomorrow I will show the Armen Kingdom what it means to have their backyard catching fire, Hehehe...' Alex laughed aloud.
Thuk Thuk!
A loud banging sound came from the room next to him before its occupant shouted angrily, "Stop laughing you crazy bastard and let your father sleep."
Seeing that the angry occupant next to his room was really tired and trying to sleep, Alex did not pursue the matter and stopped making noises so as to not disturb anyone's sleep. It was after all, past midnight. Anyway, no one will be able to sleep in this city tonight once he starts his operation.
Alex then started cultivating as he had nothing to do until his puppets arrived. But just as he had started his cultivation, The heavenly Spirit stopped him midway as she spoke with an urgent tone, "Alex, wake up, I sense a Sprit Beast nearby."
"Spirit Beast? Where?" Alex immediately opened his eyes and asked. Alex also released his spiritual sense and started scanning every corner of the city and its nearby area.
Sprit Beast are treasures that are rarely encountered, Alex cannot afford to lose it.
"It's somewhere in the direction of the river. I think it's a Water-type Spirit Beast therefore it could inside the river. You need to hurry, it may swim far away and get out of my range."
Alex did not waste time and used the window to rush out of the Inn. He immediately started running towards the northern city wall as the river was right behind it.
"Alex, hurry, it's going to get out of my range anytime now."
Until now, Alex was ruing while keeping in mind that he should not expose himself to the Patrolling guards but after the heavenly spirit warned him about losing the spirit beast, he exploded at full speed. The Spirit Beast was worth more than capturing the Hemforth city, therefore, even when some of the patrolling guards spotted him, he did not stop or tried to hide himself at all.
"Fuck! What was that?" exclaimed a spooked patrolling guard watching over the streets from atop a watchtower.
He only saw a blue blur passing in front of his eyes. When he followed the direction in which the blur was heading, the guard exclaimed in alarm.
"Oy, ring the bell and alert the guards atop the city walls."
Bong! Bong!
The guards on the city wall looked in the direction of the sound, they also spotted the bluish bur heading towards the northern wall.
Alex did not mind their attention on him, instead, he scaled the stairs of the city wall at an incredible speed. He used the Origin of Lightning to increase his speed to the maximum.
"Aim and shoot. Shoot goddammit!"
"But Captain, it is moving too...!"
Swoosh!
Before the subordinate guard could even complain, that bluish shiny person reached the top, streaked past them, and jumped off the city wall in a blink of a moment.
"My God, who was that fellow?" someone asked from the group of guards watching the unknown person freefalling after jumping off the defense wall. Very few cultivators would dare to jump from such a height, and they might think twice if there is a dangerous river running right next to the wall.
Who knows what they will hit once they dropped straight into the river.
But the guards saw the unknown person vanishing into the dark river with a splash.
No matter how much time they waited, no one could spot the person resurfacing again.
"Go and inform the Chief." Commanded the Captain that watched over the northern wall of the Hemforth City. In this time of war, any abnormality and incident like this need to be reported to their chief as soon as possible.
"Yes, Captain."
...
Just before Alex dived into the river, plum appeared and enveloped his whole body. While Alex was in the air, he had also located and locked the position of the Spirit Beast swimming inside the river some distance away.
Alex summoned Kraby inside the water and ordered him to head in the direction of the Spirit Beast.
"Alex, I can't believe your luck. No matter what happens you need to contract this particular Spirit Beast. It's a pure Water-type Elemental Spirit Beast." The Heavenly Spirit could also see what Alex could see therefore, she immediately recognized the worth of the Spirit Beast.
"Kraby, move faster, we cannot lose it." Alex communicated with his Demon Beast through their soul connection.
The Spirit Beast seems to be running away from something. To Alex, it appeared to be afraid of something.
Alex scanned the whole river till the distance his spiritual sense could stretch and cover but he couldn't find anything or anyone that could threaten the Spirit Beast.
It seems the Spirit Beast had sensed Kraby therefore, it increased its speed. The gap between his Demon Beast and the Sprit beast was now increasing. If it goes on like this, he might lose Spirit Beast.
"Alex, try to ignite your bloodline. Activate the bloodline of your eye." the voice of the heavenly spirit sounded in Alex's ears.
Alex didn't know if it would work, but he still tried doing as she advised.
Hong!
Though there was no target, Alex still used all his energy to incite his bloodline through his eyes.
The distance between Alex and the Spirit Beast was now more than six hundred meters and continuously increasing but after some minutes of activating the bloodline, the Spirit Beast suddenly stopped in its track altogether.
"Fuch yeah, it worked." Alex was ecstatic seeing that the unknown spirit beast finally stopped.
"Does my Bloodline have any special attraction towards the Spirit Beast?' Alex asked in his mind to the Heavenly Spirit.
"Yes, but not to all of them." came the reply.
The water type Spirit Beast moved. Luckily, it was in Alex's direction.
"Huh?" Alex's brows creased together as he felt something was wrong.
He felt the current inside the river changing. A circular vortex suddenly formed right in the middle of the Spirit beast and Kraby. It was the doing of that Water-type Elemental Spirit Beast. The whole water around them was in control of that Spirit Beast.
"Is it trying to attack me?" Alex looked confused. He immediately formed a protective cover around himself and Kraby with his Qi.
The whirlpool in the middle of the river became stronger and stronger. It even causes the Kraby to have difficulty in moving forward. She might have gotten sucked inside the whirlpool if Kraby wasn't a Peak Stage Rank 2 Demon Beast.
"Plum!~"
"Look above!"
The Heavenly Spirit and Plum alerted Alex at almost the same time. But even if they had not said anything, Alex had also sensed the danger that had suddenly appeared above the river in the air.
It was a man clad in a green robe, surrounded in cyan light and standing freely in midair.
