The People's God: Sacrificing Trillions to Ascend
Chapter 1083 - Arriving at the Great Dragon Territory
Three days later, Long Qi and the others watched as the Jade Dragon Emperor brought Han Wu away.
Long Xiang stood beside Long Qi with a worried expression. “Grandfather, you’re really letting Han Wu leave with the Great Dragons just like that? Aren’t you worried they’ll bully him?”
Long Qi watched as Han Wu and the Great Dragons disappeared into the distance. “Han Wu has the Defier title protecting him; he won’t be taken advantage of. The next time you see him, there’s a good chance he’ll already be someone you have to look up to.”
“No need to wait for the next time,” Long Xiang muttered under his breath. “Han Wu’s already my idol...”

Han Wu followed the Jade Dragon Emperor to the very edge of the Divine Civilization. The Jade Dragon Emperor raised a claw and tore through space. A spatial passage appeared before Han Wu.
“Step through this passage, and you’ll enter the Great Dragon territory,” the Jade Dragon Emperor said, patting Han Wu’s shoulder with its claw.
Han Wu winced. His shoulder throbbed with pain.
The Jade Dragon Emperor was wonderful, but it simply didn’t know its own strength. Even Han Wu’s Mesocosm rank base state didn’t change the fact that a regular human body couldn’t compare to a Great Dragon’s. The Jade Dragon Emperor could probably kill him with a single poke at full force. Thankfully, it still had some restraint on its power.
Carefully wriggling out from under the Jade Dragon Emperor’s claw, Han Wu glanced at the passage. Stepping through meant leaving the protection of the Divine Civilization’s Will. The Will couldn’t rescue him in time if anything happened in there.
The Jade Dragon Emperor noticed his hesitation and assumed he was being respectful by letting an elder go first.
What a well-mannered child! Far more polite than those whelps back home, it thought with an approving nod.
With that, it dove headfirst into the passage. The five Dragon Kings had been itching to go home and scrambled in after it. Han Wu went last.
Before entering, he split off an avatar using his Everchange Jurisdiction to leave behind in the Divine Civilization as insurance. Only then did he finally step through.
He emerged in the Great Dragon territory between one blink and the next. A chorus of dragon roars hit him like a wall of sound. Lined up on both sides of the passage’s exit were thousands upon thousands of Great Dragons.
Enormous pairs of dragon eyes fixed on him as if gazing at some rare exhibit. Han Wu felt exposed from head to toe. It felt as though they were seeing straight through his clothes.
The Jade Dragon Emperor shifted into a Dragonkin form roughly Han Wu’s height and walked over to explain, “Esteemed Defier, these dragons all heard the news of your arrival and came to behold your majesty. Now, please don’t hold back. Release your Defier aura in full. Let every Great Dragon here know that the Defier has come home!”
With this encouragement, Han Wu released his Defier aura alongside his full pressure. The Defier’s presence stirred an involuntary sense of reverence in the Great Dragons.
Han Wu was just starting to relax when he spotted a black Great Dragon flying toward them, a group of smaller Great Dragons flanking it. As it landed, it shifted into an elderly man. The animosity in his eyes was hard to miss.
“Romantis, has water gotten into your brain? Or have you simply been eating too much meat and turned into an unthinking animal?” the old man scolded the Jade Dragon Emperor. “How could you bring someone from the Divine Civilization into our territory on a whim? Are you trying to expose our location to them?”
Han Wu quietly stepped to the side, allowing the Jade Dragon Emperor and the old man plenty of room for their arguing.
“Umbrathur, did a giant gnaw on your brain, or have you gotten too old to think?” the Jade Dragon Emperor fired back. “Can’t you smell the Defier’s aura on him?”
The old man, Umbrathur, was the Demonfire Dragon Emperor. Of course, he could sense the rich Defier aura on Han Wu. This was simply a matter of not wanting to acknowledge it.
“A mere humanoid has tainted the Defier title! That makes the Defier no longer part of the Great Dragons!”
“You bastard, what did you just say? Have you forgotten our ancestors?” The Jade Dragon Emperor lunged at the Demonfire Dragon Emperor’s conjured clothes in a fury and tore off a large strip.
It realized a moment later that it had ripped away nothing but a wisp of Demonfire. The Demonfire Dragon Emperor stood unharmed a few steps away with his gaze locked on Han Wu.
Crushing Dragon Fear slammed down on Han Wu. It felt as if invisible hands were pressing on his shoulders, trying to force him to his knees.
But Han Wu was stubborn to the bone. He not only refused to kneel, but even fought back against the pressure.
A Great Dragon Ring materialized behind him. Pure Dragon Fear laced with the Defier’s aura expanded out from him.
Given their gap in strength, his Dragon Fear naturally wasn’t strong enough to faze the Demonfire Dragon Emperor or the Jade Dragon Emperor. However, for the other Great Dragons, this combination of his Dragon Fear and the Defier’s aura hit with the weight of a superior dragon’s authority.
Quite a few Great Dragons lost control of their legs and dropped to their knees. These included some of the Demonfire Dragon Emperor’s own followers.
Han Wu’s retaliation only infuriated the Demonfire Dragon Emperor further. A mere being from the Divine Civilization dared to stir up trouble in the Great Dragon territory and even force its followers to kneel!
In the Demonfire Dragon Emperor’s eyes, this was no different from him relieving himself on its head and asking it for tissues!
The Demonfire Dragon Emperor moved to attack, but the Jade Dragon Emperor blocked it from approaching Han Wu at every turn. It also released its own pressure to neutralize the Demonfire Dragon Emperor’s Dragon Fear.
The weight on Han Wu vanished. Relieved, Han Wu immediately doubled down and amplified his pressure, aiming it specifically at the Demonfire Dragon Emperor’s followers.
His Dragon Fear probably couldn’t even pass as competent in terms of raw power, but that didn’t matter. With the Defier’s aura mixed in, even the weakest Dragon Fear became an absolute trump card.
The Demonfire Dragon Emperor glanced back mid-struggle. All of its followers were on their knees.
“I told you all to train harder. You didn’t listen. Embarrassing, isn’t it?” the Demonfire Dragon Emperor fumed. Still, they were its subordinates, and no matter how badly it wanted to deal with Han Wu, it had to get its followers back on their feet first.
“Let’s stop this pointless fight. It’s a loss for the Great Dragons no matter who wins,” the Demonfire Dragon Emperor said loftily, attempting to take the moral high ground.
Han Wu wasn’t having it. You’re losing, so you want to switch tactics and guilt-trip me instead? Dream on! I’m going to show you what it means to not have any moral boundaries!
