The People's God: Sacrificing Trillions to Ascend

Chapter 1025 - The Destruction Clan’s Trail

  • Next Chapter

In Wildlion City, in the Beast Tamer Civilization, stood an arena where two young men were sparring with their Summoned Beasts.

After the bout, one of them slammed his fist into the wall in frustration.

This man was Gu Bei, the most talented young member of the Destruction Clan’s Gu family. The force of the slam split his fist open because the Beast Tamer Civilization sealed all personal power.

“When will this miserable life end?!” he grumbled in pain.

“Brother Bei, why are you being so careless? Did that hurt?” One of the younger generation of the Gu family worriedly tore a strip of cloth from his own clothes and wrapped Gu Bei’s fist.

Gu Bei was pissed. This godforsaken Beast Tamer Civilization had too many rules. In the Divine Civilization, he could’ve crumbled ten walls with a wave of his hand.

His companion tried to comfort him. “Elder Gu Feng said the Beast Tamer Civilization’s strict rules would protect us from pursuers.”

It was true. Even a God King would be heavily restricted if they wanted to enter legally. It would be nearly impossible for them to use even one percent of their true strength.

Naturally, their enemies would suffer the same fate as well, and the strength of their pursuers would be greatly diminished.

Gu Bei scoffed. “Damn the Death Faction! Damn the Death God King! Why isn’t he dead yet?!”

In his eyes, both the Death and Wisdom Factions were supposed to make way for the Destruction Clan, given that their clan had once brought the Divine Civilization to the peak of its glory.

“Brother Bei, please calm down...” the younger one coaxed.

An alarm suddenly blared through the arena. “Beast Tamers, alert! Massive numbers of undead skeletons are approaching from outside the city walls. All Beast Tamers are requested to help defend the city.”

The alarm looped on repeat. Some Beast Tamers heard the alarm and rushed to the gates.

Gu Bei followed suit. These skeletons came at the perfect time. He needed something to vent on.

“Come, let’s go kick some skeleton ass,” he said, heading for the gate with his nodding companion.

Han Wu and his companions watched from a comfortable distance behind the skeleton sea. Qin Shuang sat beside Han Wu, peeling bananas for him as her Thunder Sparrows circled overhead and scouted.

“This is already the sixth city. We haven’t found any trace of the Destruction Clan so far,” Qin Shuang said, a little put out.

“No rush. If six isn’t enough, we’ll hit seven, eight, and keep going until we find them.” Han Wu comforted her, chewing on the banana she had peeled for him.

The Beast Tamer Civilization’s natives probably saw them as villains, bandits, and butchers, but Han Wu didn’t care. There was no morality to invasions. It was a simple matter of the strong taking from the weak. Even if he didn’t, someone else would. That was the rule of every civilization. Those who were constantly robbed and taken advantage of could only blame themselves for being weak.

Jing Jing focused on directing the skeleton sea. The city’s Beast Tamers fought back hard, with powerful Summoned Beasts destroying skeleton after skeleton. Fortunately, this posed no issue to Jing Jing.

Every shattered bone was simply turned back into part of the skeleton sea. As long as the skeleton sea existed, new skeletons could be endlessly rebuilt. Before long, Summoned Beasts were being dragged into the bone tide, killed, and raised as skeleton soldiers to fight for Jing Jing.

During the fight, Jing Jing sensed something amiss. At the edge of the skeleton sea, large numbers of her skeletons weren’t just being destroyed; their bones and souls were forcibly annihilated instead of returning to the sea.

This matched the Destruction Clan’s techniques perfectly.

Focusing her senses on the area, she found two Beast Tamers whose Summoned Beasts used Destruction techniques. She recognized it instantly. After all, even the skeletons feared Destruction power, as it eliminated both body and soul. It was a brutal technique.

“My God, I’ve caught the Destruction Clan’s trail,” Jing Jing reported.

Han Wu jumped to his feet. “In this city?” 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ

“Yes. Their Summoned Beasts are using Destruction techniques. I’m certain.”

This stunned Han Wu. He hadn’t expected the Destruction Clan to perfect their Destruction techniques to the point that even their Summoned Beasts could use them.

“There’s no rush,” Han Wu said. “Just send more skeletons their way. Let them fight until their beasts run dry.”

This would drain their Summoned Beasts of energy before the real confrontation.

Jing Jing nodded and followed his orders.

Gu Bei and his companion’s Summoned Beasts hacked through wave after wave of skeletons to vent their frustrations, but their numbers only seemed to grow. There was no end to them.

“There are too many to deal with!” Gu Bei called out to his companion. “Let’s finish this wave and retreat inside the walls! Let the other Beast Tamers deal with them.”

The instant they recalled their Summoned Beasts, two terrifying auras locked onto them. The Pride Dark Tyrannosprite King and the Wrath War Tyrannosprite King grabbed them before they could react and carried them to the back of the skeleton sea.

Gu Bei stared at the Pride Dark Tyrannosprite King and the Wrath War Tyrannosprite King in despair, already aware of who he was about to face.

“Long time no see, Young Master Gu!” Han Wu greeted him.

Gu Bei raised his head to see Han Wu, seated on a towering throne of bone, flanked by an army of overwhelmingly powerful units. Five of these units were at the Subcosm rank.

One thought filled Gu Bei’s mind. The Destruction Clan is finished.
