The other side of Reincarnation
Part one hundred sixty five — Seven Facilities and Too Many Potions
The assembled group — Elaine, Himari, Chloe, the elf elder, a handful of visiting Tearmoon scholars, and several of the household's other regulars — gathered in the facility's largest open space.
All of them watched as Kai laid out an entire production system with the same energetic thoroughness he'd once brought to trade negotiations.
"Seven materials," he began, "each with its own dedicated facility."
He gestured toward the first set of plans.
"Dragon Forge produces Dragonsteel — refined iron, heated in a proper Dragonfire Furnace, infused with dragon-attribute energy stored in reusable Dragonfire Cores, so I don't have to personally supply the energy for every batch."
He moved through each facility in turn.
"Void Foundry for Voidstone, requiring careful stabilization or risking a miniature spatial collapse."
"Astral Refinery for mana-storage crystals graded from Civilian up through the restricted Astral Grade."
"Null Forge for Anti-Mana Ore, dangerous enough to require specially trained craftsmen working in total isolation from ordinary mana."
"Worldwood Grove, a renewable resource cultivated rather than manufactured."
"Celestial Furnace for nearly indestructible transparent glass."
"Genesis Workshop for stone that accelerated structural repair."
Kai finally stepped back.
"Each facility has a Master Production Core," he finished. "Contains the formula. Means none of you need me standing there personally for every single batch."
He smiled.
"Common Grade, High Grade, Royal Grade — I've structured the whole thing so this kingdom keeps functioning whether I'm here or not."
Himari stared at him, genuinely stunned.
"How? When did you even do all this?"
"I was bored, I guess?" Kai said, entirely sincere.
The room stared back at him in collective, silent disbelief.
Kai moved on before anyone could properly recover.
He laid out an equally extensive alchemical system — every potion built from Base, Catalyst, and Essence.
Precise recipes for healing potions graded from simple cuts all the way up through near-fatal S-Grade injuries.
Mana recovery potions calibrated to different capacity levels.
Stamina potions.
A growing Poison Archive for rapid antidote development.
"Curse-removal medicine," he continued. "I got the idea from your own experience, actually."
He glanced toward Chloe.
"Treats the magical information affecting the soul, not just the body."
Chloe blinked.
Something touched crossed her expression.
Kai kept going.
"Soul-Recovery Potion, capable of repairing fragmented memories and stabilizing souls after possession."
"Regeneration Elixir, inspired, I admit, by the artifact that once blinded Eris. Capable of regrowing lost limbs entirely, provided the alchemists work from a proper Life Pattern Formula."
"Longevity Medicine, ranging from a modest five to ten extra years up through mythical grades measured in centuries."
"How," Himari said, her voice rising into genuine frustration, "were you even able to make that?"
Every eye in the room turned toward Kai.
"That one's not for sale," he said quickly.
"Were you planning to sell it before?" Chloe asked.
"I guess? Maybe? I don't actually recall," Kai admitted.
"You'd better not," Elaine said flatly.
Kai pressed forward anyway, considerably more excited than the room's mounting alarm seemed to warrant.
"Dragon Blood Elixir. Legendary-tier. Strengthens the body, magic, regeneration, resistance, even lifespan — though compatibility's a real issue. A normal human drinking a concentrated version could genuinely die from it."
"You have got to be kidding me," Himari said. "Dragon Blood Elixir? Really, Kai?"
"You have no idea what Null mana's actually capable of," Kai said, grinning.
"Watch this."
He raised a hand.
"Genesis Elixir."
The room went silent.
Kai explained it properly.
It wasn't simply a stronger healing potion.
It was something capable of repairing what conventional magic considered permanently irreversible.
Destroyed organs.
Severed magical pathways.
Broken spiritual cores.
Damage caused by conceptual abilities themselves.
"Hell no," Himari said, immediate and absolute.
"Nope. You went too far. Do you have any idea what other kingdoms would think if you actually put that on the market?"
"War would follow," the elf elder said gravely.
"Exactly," Chloe agreed.
Elaine was already taking charge.
"We'll market everything else," she said. "But not the Genesis Elixir. Not the Dragon Blood Elixir. Not Soul-Recovery. Not Longevity Medicine."
She looked directly at Kai.
"All four, off the list entirely."
"Why?" Kai asked, genuinely confused.
The entire room simply stared at him.
