Just as he would when using his Magic Bag, Qiu Nuoya imagined the pen in his mind and reached his hand into the box.

Just as he expected, the pen returned to his hand.

There’s no doubt about it. This is literally an "Item Box"!

Until now, Qiu Nuoya had stuffed all of his belongings into the Magic Bag Viktor had given him. He never imagined that he actually possessed a skill with the exact same function himself.

It was almost the definition of having a treasure and failing to make use of it.

Well, in the end, it was entirely his fault for never noticing it!

Qiu Nuoya began transferring his personal belongings from his Magic Bag into his Item Box. However, it seemed that his Item Box had nowhere near the capacity of his Magic Bag. Once he had stored around fifty items, it reached maximum capacity and would not accept anything else.

"Ah, this might actually be pretty useless. If only it had a little more capacity... Wait, come to think of it, wasn’t there something called Expansion?"

Qiu Nuoya opened his status screen again and tapped Spatial Magic. Then he tapped "Expansion" from the list that appeared.

However, nothing happened. The text did not even change color.

Instead, another line of text appeared, displaying an explanation that said, "Allows spatial expansion."

Yeah, I know that already!

Qiu Nuoya mentally retorted at the utterly unhelpful explanation.

Hmm? What’s going on? Do I have to say it out loud?

As a test, Qiu Nuoya tried chanting, "Expansion!"

After a slight sensation of something changing, he suddenly realized that his room had expanded to roughly one and a half times its original size.

"Huh? What? What happened to my room?"

Qiu Nuoya had only wanted to increase the capacity of his Item Box, so why had his room suddenly become larger?

Worried about what this expansion might have done to the rest of the house, he hurried out of his room to check. However, the only thing that had changed was the interior of his room. There was no sign of anything unusual from the outside.

"Hmm?"

As Qiu Nuoya stood in the hallway, tilting his head in confusion, Viktor apparently sensed his magical power and poked his head out of his room.

"What happened?"

"My room got bigger."

Even as he said that, Viktor leaned into Qiu Nuoya’s room. After confirming that the room, which should have been the same size as his own, had expanded considerably, he turned to Qiu Nuoya and asked,

"What exactly did you do?"

"Come to think of it, I have skills that I’ve never actually used before, so I decided to try Spatial Magic. Then my room suddenly got bigger."

"I see. Spatial Magic, you say? In that case, it is not particularly surprising that your room became larger. But you were the one who expanded the room, weren’t you? Why are you so surprised?"

"I didn’t intend to expand my room. I only thought that perhaps I could increase the capacity of my Item Box because it was so small."

"Your Item Box... I see. Come to think of it, Item Boxes are part of Spatial Magic, aren’t they? I had forgotten since I cannot use Spatial Magic myself."

With that, Viktor explained that the capacity of an Item Box would automatically increase as its skill level rose.

Qiu Nuoya had never used Spatial Magic before, so naturally, his Spatial Magic skill had remained at Level 1. That was why his Item Box had such limited capacity as well.

"If I’d known there was such a convenient magic skill, I would have made much better use of it before now!"

Viktor gave Qiu Nuoya a slightly exasperated look.

Qiu Nuoya knew exactly what he was thinking. He had known that he possessed the Spatial Magic skill, yet he had never bothered to make use of it. He had simply neglected to learn much about that branch of magic. If he had started studying Spatial Magic sooner, he would never have made such a foolish remark now.

Ugh, what a blunder!

"The spell you used on this room is Spatial Expansion. Depending on how you use it, Spatial Magic can be applied in all sorts of ways. For example, if you prepare a small box here and expand the space inside it without changing the box’s external dimensions, you could create a storage space similar to a storeroom."

Oh!?

If that was possible, then perhaps Qiu Nuoya could store things inside the small box, put the box itself into his Item Box, and effectively have almost unlimited storage space for his belongings.

"By the way, would the inside of such a box function like a Magic Bag?"

"What do you mean?"

"For example, if I stored vegetables inside it, they wouldn’t spoil inside a Magic Bag because time seems to be stopped within it. Would the same thing happen inside the expanded space I created?"

"Well, I am not an expert in Spatial Magic myself, so I cannot say for certain. Why don’t you try it and see?"

That was certainly true. Following Viktor’s advice, Qiu Nuoya expanded the space inside a small box until it created a space roughly one meter on each side.

Next, he took some fresh vegetables out of his Magic Bag and placed them inside the box. He also stored some vegetables in his Item Box for comparison.

He would check on them after two or three days. If the vegetables had not spoiled, he could confirm that the space he had created functioned in the same way as a Magic Bag.

"That should do it!"

"Even so, Nuoya really is incredibly talented. You have other magic skills you can use as well, don’t you?"

"Um, yes. The only magic skill I haven’t used yet is Dark Magic."

"Dark Magic..." Viktor furrowed his brow slightly before telling Qiu Nuoya, "I think it would be better if you didn’t use it."
