The Most Arbitrary Wizard
Chapter 428 201: "Do you want revenge?
"Mr. Blake is actually short on money?"
That shouldn't have made any sense.
But with some people and some things, the less sense they made, the more sense they made.
"Are you stupid?!"
"Mr. Blake has been gone for so many years. Now that he's back, the times have changed, and the Holy Sanctuary is gone. How could he still have any money?"
"But with Mr. Blake's power, wouldn't it be easy for him to get money? He could just rob a bank..."
"Yes, but don't forget, Mr. Blake is the most elegant man in the world."
"A gentleman acquires wealth through proper means, understand?"
"How could Mr. Blake do something as undignified as robbing a bank?"
"The way I see it, this is actually a test from Mr. Blake. He wants to see if the Holy Sanctuary still has a place in our hearts."
"That makes sense!"
The Wizards chattered among themselves and finally came to a conclusion—
Mr. Blake didn't care about money; this was just his way of testing them.
"I'll put up thirty Gold Coins!" a Wizard suddenly said, raising his hand.
The crowd immediately erupted in an uproar.
"Whoa, you're that rich?"
Thirty Gold Coins was no small sum. Converted to outside currency, that would be three hundred thousand.
"I'll put up fifty Gold Coins!" another Wizard shouted.
"I'll give one hundred!"
"One-fifty!"
Anyone who didn't know better would have thought they were at an auction.
Sean could see it now. This group of Wizards might look stingy, but in reality, each one was richer than the last.
It made sense when he thought about it. The people who came to the church frequently went out on missions. While the reward for a single mission might not be high, they must have built up a considerable nest egg over time.
One Female Wizard even shouted excitedly, "I'll offer myself! I want to give myself to Mr. Blake!"
"From now on, I belong to Mr. Blake!"
Sean: "..."
The Wizards: "?"
"In your dreams."
"Pah, shameless!"
The "official" fundraising was very fast.
In just one afternoon, the donation box made for the occasion was stuffed full, overflowing with Gold and Silver Coins. The sight was both amusing and a little touching to Sean. Honestly, he never expected that after several hundred years, the Holy Sanctuary—now reduced to ruins—could still command such loyalty.
Sean was quite curious. 'What on earth did I do back then to become this popular?'
「At the same time.」
「Hesinra Palace.」
Diana had also received the news.
"Your Highness, Mr. Blake appeared in the Underground City last night."
"Oh?"
"He specifically requested to see a man named Lauden, who claims to be the son of a Horseman. He gave him some tasks, and then this afternoon, Blake City began raising money."
"Raising money?"
Diana let out a laugh.
She had a good idea of what Sean was planning.
'That guy is as prideful as ever. He'd rather go to all this trouble and risk exposing his identity by showing up "in person" than come and ask me for it.'
"I understand," Diana said. "Have your people contribute some money as well. Not too much, but not too little either."
"Yes," the Divine Servant replied, then added, "Your Highness, there is one more thing."
Diana lifted her teacup and took a light sip. "Speak."
The Divine Servant said, "That Wizard you instructed me to keep an eye on, the one named Sean, has also appeared in Blake City."
In truth, Carl Black's appearance meant Sean was there as well. The Divine Servant simply didn't know that Sean was the "Mr. Blake" he was referring to. Diana had no intention of explaining, so she just asked, "Did he get the Wine of Imagination?"
"He got it," the Divine Servant confirmed with a nod.
The so-called "reward left for Sean" was actually all arranged by Her Highness the Saintess. Otherwise, why would Lauden, a Tier Six Wizard, be rewarded with a Magic Potion that a Tier Six Wizard has no use for?
Lauden himself didn't know any of this, but he was a decent person—loyal, at the very least. He hadn't sold the Magic Potions for money, or he wouldn't be sitting in that office.
Diana trusted the people Sean trusted, but whether she could make use of them was a matter for her own consideration.
"Then he should be Tier Six by now?" Diana asked.
In the "New World" of the Wizards, one only had a certain degree of self-preservation capability after reaching Tier Six.
But the Divine Servant answered, "No."
This was also what he had wanted to report.
Diana frowned. "Why?"
'Don't tell me Sean's Talent wasn't enough.'
Carl Black was the most talented Wizard in the world, bar none. Not even she could compare.
"It seems he didn't drink it," the Divine Servant said. "My people told me his aura hasn't changed at all; it doesn't look like he consumed the Wine of Imagination. Also, a woman came to Blake City with Sean this time. Sean was out and about for a while today, but this woman didn't join him... I suspect Sean might have given the Magic Potion to her."
Diana: "?"
"What is this woman's name?"
'It shouldn't be Elvire.'
Daeli's sister was already Tier Six; she had no need for the Wine of Imagination.
"Her name seems to be Elise," the Divine Servant answered truthfully. "She's said to be Sean's wife."
Wife??
CRACK.
The teacup fell to the floor.
Diana narrowed her eyes. "She's Sean's what?"
"Say that again?"
