The Most Arbitrary Wizard
Chapter 423 - 199: Elise (2)
That is, until she met Elvire.
As the second daughter of the Archduke’s Blazing Angel Family and Daeli’s younger sister, Elvire was undoubtedly a true chosen one. Her background, Talent, and appearance were all impeccable. No other girl could compare to Elvire—at least, Elise had never met anyone like her.
And after Elvire, Elise met Sean.
This writer fellow was in a league of his own.
From awakening his Magic Power as an ordinary person and becoming a Novice Wizard to reaching Tier Three, he had taken less than two months. It was like he was using cheats—it defied all logic. Not even a rocket could move that fast.
If Sean had no real relationship with her, just a nodding acquaintance, then it would have been fine. As long as they didn’t meet often, she wouldn’t think about it so much.
But this Sean fellow just had to become good friends with them.
This made Elise feel immense pressure.
Many times, when she looked at Sean, she felt he was unreal.
’Good-looking, a fast cultivator, and possessing an extremely mysterious identity... Does a man who’s practically perfect in every way like this really exist?’
And it was precisely this surreal quality that made Sean so captivating to Elise.
The real reason she’d come to find Sean for Dual Cultivation was to raise her Tier faster.
Elise didn’t want to hold Elvire and Sean back.
But her Talent was truly limited.
Even though she had mocked Lauden yesterday for failing to break through with a Witch Blood Potion, she wasn’t certain she could succeed if she were in his shoes.
’Elise wanted to break through to Tier Five or Tier Six in a flash, too. She even had her Wizard title all picked out! But she just couldn’t do it. What was she supposed to do?’
"That’s why I say you’re not very smart."
Sean sighed.
"Didn’t I just say this afternoon? If you don’t have enough Talent, you make up for it with Magic Potions."
"SWISH!"
Sean waved his hand.
A soft glimmer of light flashed.
Over a hundred vials of Magic Potions immediately appeared on the coffee table.
This was the very "payment" Lauden had left for him.
"Take them and drink. Don’t be shy."
Elise: "?"
"Whoa, wait a minute..."
"What’s there to wait for?"
Sean waved dismissively. "How long have we been talking? You’ve hesitated several times already. No more waiting. I told you to drink, so drink. Stop making excuses."
Elise: "..."
’So intense.’
But she still had to ask, "Your friend left these for you. If I drink them, what will you do?"
"What do you think?" Sean said. "Then you can be the one to protect me."
He actually had his reasons for doing this.
First, he completely understood how Elise was feeling.
He’d felt something similar when he first met Elvire. At the time, she wouldn’t even tell him her name.
Second, these Magic Potions would be put to best use on Elise.
Because he had his own personal Alchemist—Lante. Lante had been trying to concoct new Magic Potions, and they should be ready by the time Sean returned from the New World. He could go directly back to the Farm World to make his breakthrough, so there was no need to use resources from the New World. Giving them to Elise was truly putting them to good use.
And as for the third reason...
As a friend, Sean didn’t want to see Elise upset, let alone fall behind.
And Elvire probably felt the same way.
Besides, since Elise had called him ’hubby,’ he might as well reluctantly take on the responsibility, right?
But Sean would never say any of this out loud.
He was never one for explanations.
"Remember what Lauden said: one vial every ten minutes. Don’t Meditate for too long each time. You’ll have to keep track of the time yourself."
Sean said, "Go on, drink. I’ll watch over you."
Elise: "..."
She suddenly felt a sting in her nose.
But as a mature woman, she would never break down and cry.
She would just express it in a different way.
"Mister Writer..."
"Hmm?"
"Thank you."
"You don’t have to—!!?"
Sean was about to say they were friends and there was no need for thanks, but Elise suddenly turned into a flash of lightning, appeared in front of him, and tackled him onto the sofa. Pinning his hands down, she dove in and kissed him on the lips before he could even react!
All of the long hair framing Elise’s face tumbled forward, the ends brushing against Sean’s neck, making it tingle and itch.
Sean: "Mmph...!"
"SQUISH, SQUISH..."
