The Martial Unity

Chapter 4640: Phenomenologically Uniforming Water

Amare’s words startled him. It was as if she was narrating a fiction she had invented, yet he knew that wasn’t the case. She was telling the truth. But it being the truth meant that he had underestimated the impacts of Gigabrain. He thought he would be able to resurrect everybody when the time came, but it didn’t sound like the time ever did come.

"Why didn’t Gigabrain deactivate when my metaphysical stamina depleted?" Rui wondered aloud with an engrossed tone. "That should have been a hard reset that would have allowed me to snap out of it. That was what I was relying on, in fact. The fact that Gigabrain would not pass on to my reincarnated vessel."

She shook her head. "...Your Gigabrain self didn’t need a vessel. I don’t know what you did, but you somehow managed to figure out how to replenish your phenomenological stamina indefinitely. That allowed you to use the power of Transcendence without limit. And that was what made you a menace."

Rui’s eyes widened at those words. He had suspected that it was likely theoretically possible to replenish phenomenological stamina, but he had no idea how he would even begin to go about it. It was impossible to even measure phenomenological stamina objectively, because it was, by definition, within a person’s subjectivity. It was a metaphysical quantity. Phenomenology was the field of philosophy that dealt with conscious experience itself. In other words, phenomenological stamina was some ineffable quantity inside his very experience and perception of the world.

Rui had always thought that even if it was possible to replenish this stamina theoretically, it was almost certainly absolutely impossible in practice.

But it appeared that his Gigabrain self had managed to figure out the secret.

In that moment, Rui would be lying if he said he wasn’t tempted to activate Gigabrain and figure out what the secret was. That was how attractive this ability was. It was even more miraculous than his integrated information transfer method, entirely flawless and without shortcomings.

In a way, he shouldn’t have been surprised. Gigabrain had always allowed him to do things that he would otherwise consider absolutely impossible. It was a shame that the price and the consequences of the ability were so profoundly extreme. Otherwise, he would have used it a lot more frequently.

From the way that Amare described him, it seemed that Gigabrain was even more powerful as a Transcendent. The fact that he could take down six Divine Mothers immediately spoke to just how unstoppable it made me. He suspected that this was because Gigabrain resonated well with his Martialverse, perhaps creating an effect similar to Verse amplification. That would explain why he became that dominant.

Then again, Gigabrain also allowed him to fight Martial Sages as a Martial Master. The way it enabled him to punch vastly above his weight-class was something to behold. When his clone had used Gigabrain against him, it bridged the gap between them caused by the Gene Realm and allowed the clone to create techniques like Etherea Corpa and Aqua Existentia that Rui still used even to this day because of how effective they were.

He turned towards her with an enthusiastic expression. "Tell me everything. In detail. Better yet, just share your memories with me."

She could sense his excitement, evoking a heavy expression from her.

"This is not fun, Rui."

Her voice was filled with reproach.

"I almost died. Do you even feel guilty about almost killing me? The woman that you love? What about human civilization? All the people you inadvertently genocided as you hunted the strongest things to adaptively evolve to?"

Those words gave him pause, tempering his enthusiasm, causing his expression to grow more serious. "Sorry, I did not mean to belittle your suffering. You are a hero, Amare. I don’t know how you did it, but you have saved everybody. You saved not only human civilization from me, but you saved me as well. And then again when you intervened in our battle against the Divine Mothers."

Her expression loosened a little at those words, even if she still maintained a heaviness in her eyes.

She nodded. "I’ll share with you everything."

She began to narrate the tale, weaving words and memories together.

"Originally, I didn’t break through until after the battle was already over," she began in a quiet voice. "I was still trying to fix the contradiction in the worldviews between my identity as Amare and as Esil. That was when your Martial Embodiment swept me. It was so powerful. More powerful than ever before."

Her words betrayed fear, and her memories helped him understand why. When he felt the Water she had experienced, he realized just how much more powerful it had been.

It was such an extraordinary density of information that it warped the information dimension itself. It was like he was looking at an ocean with the density of the information form of a singularity.

It was as if the information itself had become a physical force.

But that wasn’t what shocked Rui the most when he examined her memories of his Gigabrain-empowered Martial Embodiment. He made a shocking discovery that truly shook him where he sat.

’The information density of my Martial Embodiment is so high that... it’s forcibly uniforming the phenomenology of those whose minds were swept by it.’

After all, Martial Embodiments were essentially phenomenology that a person was forced to experience because of passive hypnosis. When Rui moved, he hypnotized normal people and fed their subconscious minds a large amount of information through nonverbal communication. This was basic knowledge. Martial Embodiments altered phenomenology to make it closer to that of the Martial Artists to whom the Embodiment belonged.

However, as a Transcendent, his phenomenology was uniform. Thus, when he made the phenomenology of the beholders close to his own, he was also making their phenomenology more uniform. Since his phenomenology was uniform and their phenomenology was being driven closer to his.

That alone was shocking.

With Gigabrain, however, the effect appeared to be magnified by an astronomical degree, so much so that if a normal person could survive his Martial Embodiment and actually process it, they may forcibly be made to achieve phenomenological uniformity.

In other words, his Martial Embodiment as a Gigabrain Transcendent may have reached a point where it could allow others to temporarily become Water Transcendents!
