Even as time slowed down in Rui’s eyes, the paralyzing fear shackled his heart with an unfathomable terror.

It came from nowhere.

He couldn’t sense any distinct source of the fear.

And yet… it was everywhere.

His attention shifted around him.

The bright dawn that cracked at the horizon.

The forests that exploded with power.

The ravaged land beneath his feet.

Despite the unfathomable amount of terror he felt, he was unable to understand.

He was unable to understand what he was feeling.

And yet, while he feared the fear, he also knew that it wasn’t acute.

It wasn’t going to kill immediately.

The attacks of the Mothers of Nature, on the other hand, had come pretty close to killing him in his unwillingness to admit ’defeat’ by using this power. A power that made him lose control of himself in a trance where he simply adaptively evolved to any and everything.

That was exactly what he was going to do now.

Even as time was slowed to a crawl, the blood-red Suns in his eyes shined brightly as Rui’s entranced attention returned to his immediate surroundings.

He was surrounded by a maelstrom of destruction.

His body was losing control of the gu as the mechanism he had created to keep it in check was starting to unravel. Both of these were the most imminent threats to his life and needed an immediate solution.

In particular, the former was extremely lethal and was already at the level where he wouldn’t be able to deal with it without some extremely difficult and extremely powerful solution.

And that was exactly what he did.

The world shook as Rui activated the Forge of Creation and the Angle of laplace. The latter allowed him to look into the past. Into his own past in the forest all the way back to when he was teleported by the Mother of Nature.

And even before that, to when she manipulated the very fabric of space and time.

An impossible feat for him in ordinary circumstances, but with Gigabrain, his astronomical cognition had reached unfathomable levels of intensity. Gigabrain synergetically empowered not just the Martial Mind but also the Martial Soul, making it extremely effective when he was a Martial Sage.

From just the tiniest of shifts caused by gravitational waves, he could understand exactly what Mother Mara had done.

And he could replicate it.

Not just replicate it, with Soul Retcon, he could temporarily master it.

The world shook as he bent the very fabric of space and time with incredible intensity, pushing it past the point of a simple singularity, allowing him to stress the very fabric of reality to its very elastic limit.

And beyond its elastic limit.

He triggered an infinitesimally minute tear in the very fabric of reality.

A wormhole.

He bent the very fabric of space and time as the wormhole consumed the matter and energy in the region around it, spitting it out on the other side, well above the forest and out of harm’s way.

Just like that, he was gone.

The unfathomable intensity of destruction that Mothers of Nature unleashed upon where he was standing just a moment prior was truly ferocious. The extraordinary explosion frayed the very fabric of space and time as well as the canvas of heaven and earth with its extraordinary intensity.

And yet, none of it reached him.

’Where did he go?!’

’Did we finally annihilate him?’

’No! His Martial Embodiment is still active and vastly more intense than it used to be! He’s still alive! And he’s somehow gotten much stronger!’

’No…’ Pure horror welled up as Mother Mara recognized the fluctuations in space that she had sensed. ’He… he replicated my wormhole technique! That demon teleported out of there in the very final moment!’

A profoundly deep sense of terror gripped her heart.

One moment, he was on the verge of death.

Moments away from destruction.

The very next moment, he had not only figured out her teleportation but had replicated it with his own power and used it to escape from the attack.

’There he is!’ another Mother of Nature snarled. ’Above the forest! He somehow teleported there!’

Mother Mara’s attention shifted as she beheld the figure of Rui.

His outer flesh was eviscerated.

His body was bleeding.

And yet, she couldn’t help but experience a raw, bone-chilling terror unlike anything she had ever felt when she gazed into the blood-red Suns shining with blinding brightness.

She felt unfathomable, astronomical power, unlike almost anything she had ever felt in her life.

The maelstrom of power that lingered within his eyes.

The otherworldly intensity of his Martial Embodiment swept the entire continent and beyond. If not for the fact that the forest had been designed to contain his Martial Embodiment with cutting-edge anti-surveillance technology meant to keep all information from exiting the forest, his extraordinary Martial Embodiment would have already genocided all light elves by then.

The very notion of it evoked raw, palpable terror in her.

In that moment, she understood.

’If we don’t kill him here, we will never be able to kill him again. No…’

Her emotions grew grim.

’We may lose our chance to survive.’

The air grew heavy with tension as the other Mothers of Nature understood the gravity of the situation.

The atmosphere grew electric with peril as the Mothers shifted.

They had shifted in demeanor and attitude.

No longer were they engaging in a righteous and just exorcism of a demon of death.

They were fighting for survival just as he was.

’We must kill him no matter what.’

A fierce resolution formed as the Mothers of Nature grew ferociously motivated.

The kind of motivation that didn’t come until one’s life was on the line.

’Attack. Unleash everything. We must see to his destruction right here and right now before he has a chance to recover from his critical wounds.’
