Chapter 3306: Day of Drowning
Chapter 3306: Day of Drowning
RUMBLE!!!!!
The world shook as Rui’s Martial Embodiment spread across all of Genora.
One moment, the light elves were simply waking up to a new day.
One that was as ordinary as any other.
The very next moment, they were consumed by a titanic tsunami that spread across the entirety of the forests.
“AAHHHHH!”
“WHAT IS THIS?”
“WHERE IS THIS WATER COMING FROM?”
It was an apocalypse unlike anything they had ever experienced, involving the entirety of the elven population as it drowned everybody and everything in the entire continent. Not all Mothers of Nature of East Genora had participated in the operation, but now each and every single one of them had been alerted to the consequences that their actions had brought about.
’What is this wave of information?!’
’It must be from the demon that our sisters sought to ambush…!’
’Tsk, those fools are jeopardizing our entire civilization! Quick, hurry to their aid and kill the source of this phantom apocalypse!’
They would be lying if they had said that they weren’t shocked to their very bones.
They knew that the demon that their sisters had sought to kill was strong, having bested Supreme Commander Anthea in a battle.
But they couldn’t have imagined that he harbored such astronomical power.
The same was even more true for the dark elves of the West Genora, who found themselves in a similar panic. The dark elf population had been set into a frenzy across the entirety of the West Genora.
“HELP! I’M DROWNING!”
“WHAT HAPPENED TO THE ANTI-TSUNAMI AND ANTI-FLOODING MECHANISMS?”
“THE SYSTEMS ARE NOT REACTING TO THE WATER FOR SOME REASON!”
The dark elves found themselves to be in just as intense a panic as the light elves of East Genora, completely befuddled by the absurdity of a phantom tsunami consuming the entire world. The water felt extremely real to the touch, to their vision, to their sense of smell, sound, and even taste.
And yet, they didn’t drown.
Not a single person died.
It was beyond anything in their experience as elves.
The only ones who recognized what was happening were the dark elves of the Forest of War, who had seen his Martial Embodiment when he activated his Martial Mind in his mock battle with them.
As well as the Mothers of Nature.
’This…’ Mother Alicia found herself shocked, frozen. ’What… what is this power? How can one person have this kind of power?’
When she saw Rui using all his Realms of power to create the Nature Interfacer and the Tapestry of Nature, she thought she had gained a pretty good understanding of just how strong Rui was. That, along with the fact that his battle with Supreme Commander Anthea appeared to be somewhat close, made it easy to feel confident that she understood his limits.
And yet, when she felt the unfathomable surge of power that swept across the entire continent and beyond, she understood that she knew nothing.
She understood how foolish she was to think she understood his limits.
He was unfathomable.
Even as she felt the surge of water spreading across Gaia, she struggled to even parse how he was possibly achieving such an incredible state of power.
Only one person on the continent had a good understanding of what was happening.
“Rui…!” Amare’s expression was one of hope, relief, and anxiety all at once. “You are alive… And you… couldn’t hold back anymore.”
Her words drew Mother Alicia’s attention.
’Amare, do you know what this is?’ she asked with an urgent tone. ’What is this madness? What is this power?’
Amare nodded slowly. “This is Gigabrain. His greatest trump card. It is him at his very strongest. But he doesn’t like using it because it has… side effects and consequences.”
She was wise enough not to reveal the shortcomings of his power, for she understood that these could be used against him. Just the fact that he was in a trance-like state where he uncontrollably adaptively evolved to everything around him was something that could be used against him if someone was extremely clever.
Then the fact that the somewhat recent discovery that the prolonged disconnect from his body after he was knocked out harmed his muscle memory was also bad. He also didn’t like sleeping for too long because it made him feel a bit rusty, even if from his perspective it was over in the blink of an eye.
She also knew that he didn’t like using it because he didn’t feel in control of his power. Even if the person was still him, his subconscious mind, he still didn’t like it the lack of agency that came with the power that robbed him of a sense of achievement and satisfaction.
That was why she knew that he only used it if he had absolutely no choice.
’…with that kind of power, he may not need our help anymore,’ Mother Alicia realized. ’His Martial Embodiment is causing enough trouble to the light elves to force them to redirect their attention to their own struggling people. The Martial Embodiment will force them to have to redirect much of their attention and resources towards lowering its intensity so that their people won’t suffer as much due to it. We will have to do the same for our citizens. I cannot bear to see our people suffer.’
“I’m sure Rui wouldn’t either,” Amare replied with a small, anxious smile. “Please tend to your people and… have faith that he will emerge victorious and return to us alive and well.”
The Continent of Genora has been drowned in a flood of information across its entirety, spreading much chaos and anguish among the people.
And yet, the Martial Embodiment wasn’t merely limited to Genora.
It spread far beyond, eclipsing the other continents of the true world as well as the Panama Continent, as almost each and every lifeform in the world obtained the opportunity to feel his power for themselves.
The experience was so impactful that historians of the true world would look back on it as the Day of Drowning.
A day that would have a profound impact on the development of geopolitics in the true world.
