The Mage's 5 Fated Alphas (BL)
Chapter 95: Soul search 1
Moon’s brows twitched hard as he watched the chaos.
"What are you guys even doing?" Moon asked again, louder this time.
All of a sudden, the entire frenzy froze upon hearing his voice. They didn’t even notice him coming inside.
The two pups suddenly saw Moon standing near the edge of the hall.
With a sudden hidden commitment, they forgot to tear at each other, and leaped through the air and jumped right into Moon’s arms, clinging to his cloak like two fluffy balls.
Moon staggered back two steps as he caught them against his chest.
Looking at the mess in the hall, he sighed and raised his head to look at the floating figure.
Lupine spun toward him.
"Your mongrels are destroying my vault! And these two trash still can’t hold a stance!"
Moon ignored the mess for now.
He needed to do something else before he went to the Lost Realm.
The five captive, black-clothed men were still inside the Lupine Palace.
He looked around and found none.
"Where are the five men I sent yesterday?" he asked Lupine.
"Heh! Now you remember? After sending such filthy shits inside my sacred palace. Don’t send them next time into my pristine, holy space."
As he talked, his long beard puffed up with mocking rage.
With a wave of his hand, suddenly the stone wall on the side moved apart, creating a path.
Moon looked at the path, his brows raised high. ’There seems to be a lot more than I know,’ he thought.
[Indeed, that old thug is a deceiver; he hides all things,] the Moon Goddess spoke up within his consciousness.
Moon scoffed, ’Aren’t you the same? Deceiving people?’ Moon mocked in response.
The other side fell silent.
And Moon, with the others, entered the newly opened path inside the vault.
The inside was not dark but also not illuminated like the Lupine Palace’s main hall.
It was like a big well.
Because the light falling here was from above, and it was natural sunlight.
As they entered, the path behind them closed, making it like they were in the deep well.
The entire rock wall was filled with jagged stones, and in a corner, the five unconscious bodies were thrown without care.
Moon clicked his tongue.
"You keep them like this? What if they die? I need them alive." He turned to Lupine.
"Don’t worry, they are alive. Werewolves have hard bones."
"You know werewolves?" Moon was surprised.
He thought Lupine came from another realm and was stuck here like him. What’s more, Lupine didn’t have the chance to mingle with people here like him.
"Of course I know them now. I am not ignorant like you. I have already beaten that iron husband of yours, and still, his bones aren’t broken... tsk tsk... so hard."
He scoffed with great disappointment.
Moon didn’t know if he should laugh or cry.
"He is different. Normal werewolves can break bones."
He said and poked one of the guards.
He was thinking about how to soul search them. His soul power increased with his pill refining.
And he had just refined one poison-removing pill, and hadn’t even refined any Spiritual-Grade pill, so his soul power was still that of a mortal grade.
’Seems like I have to focus on my own progress instead of running.’ Moon sighed inwardly.
Then he looked at Lupine and the others. "Does anyone know soul search?"
"We know," Axe replied.
Moon was surprised. They actually could soul search here.
"What’s with this shocked face? We werewolves have strong soul power, or else, how do you think my good father, Alpha Vaelis, can command a full pack?" Axe said smugly.
That was right.
How could he not have thought about that?
"So you can soul search?"
"No."
"..."
"Darling, don’t glare at me like that. I feel hard."
"Are you messing with me, Axe?" Moon snapped. "If you can’t, then why did you say we know?"
"I said we know, not me. We are defective," Axe laughed without humor.
Moon sighed and looked at Lupine.
"Master, can you do it?"
"I can, but I need to borrow a spiritual body," Lupine said. Then he added, "Lend me yours, and I will search for you."
"No way!"
"No way!"
Both Axe and Nox shouted in unison.
"Are you kidding me? Lending your body? Moon, don’t ever do that. This old ghost can take over you and never leave."
Moon scratched his neck hesitantly. He knew better than anyone what possession is. And it is definitely a high risk to lend a body to an old monster like Lupine.
His soul power must be hundreds of times better than his.
"Humph!" Lupine scoffed to the side.
"All foolish, idiotic, trash!" he grumbled, tugging at his own long beard.
"If I wanted to possess, couldn’t I have done it by now? Can this tiny, mere novice mage’s body even hold my soul? He will be burned to death. So will I. Ignorant mongrels. Foolish. All foolish."
He grumbled nonstop, as if he was hurt.
Moon rubbed his chin, then crossed his arms around his chest.
"Ask her," Lupine suddenly said to Moon.
"Her?"
"Who?"
Axe’s and Nox’s attention suddenly became sharp.
Who is this ’her’ that needs to be found first? They already had five rivals, and now there was another ’her’?
"You don’t need to know," Lupine smiled from ear to ear. He was happy to ignite some fire and chaos.
Moon felt he was having a headache.
’Can I trust him?’ Moon asked, though internally he felt conflicted. He didn’t even trust this "her" anymore.
But again, he only had the goddess to rely on.
[You can; he can’t possess. His soul is bound to his Nightmare.]
’Nightmare?’
[His sword’s name.]
Moon looked at Lupine with strange eyes.
A flicker of interest flashed through his eyes.
"I agree," he said.
He put down the two fur balls hanging onto him.
Lupine froze for a moment from his sulking. For a moment, Moon saw a little seriousness in his ruby eyes.
"Close your consciousness and let me in."
They ignored the two devastated brothers’ wide eyes, and soon Lupine’s phantom figure vanished.
And Moon’s red eyes snapped open.
