The Mafia Lord Forgotten Bride
Chapter 25: Samir’s Plan
"Amie."
Rauf narrowed his eyes at Samir. Ever since he had known the man, he had always played some sort of game with him.
What if this was a lie?
"Are you saying Amie is the daughter you had with the Mafia Queen"
For a split second, he looked skeptical before nodding. "Of course." He sounded so sure. "How can I lie about a child I have with the mafia queen? I don’t have a death wish."
Samir heart was thumping fast.
He needed to leave here, soon, so that he could inform Amie about the new plan. There was no way Serena would recognize her daughter. She was a toddler when she left and had changed since then.
Rauf seemed to think about that. "True." After all, Samir didn’t even know the Mafia queen was blind.
Samir almost let out an invisible relief. But Rauf continued. "Amie would have to come to New Central state. She’ll be so happy to find her mother."
Samir forced himself to nod his head.
Who knew Serena was going to be the Mafia Queen? He shouldn’t have divorced and throw her out of the house. But, with Amie, he should be able to change her mind.
Glad that something useful had came out of this whole arrangement, Rauf released Samir. He was no longer in the mood of threatening him. "I’d advice you to stay far from the drug licensing deal, even Tim don’t have the power over it."
Samir nodded. The deal with Tim had took a backbench in his mind, not when he had to deal with this first.
Immediately he stepped out of the hotel, he picked up his phone and dialled Amie’s.
It rang at first and there was no response.
He tried again.
The second time too, not response. The number redirected to drop a voice note.
Angrily, Samir pinched the dial number again.
Where was she now?
It would be so annoying if Rauf gets hold of her first and she started spitting out stupid thing like her mother is her father’s wife now.
It would mess up everything.
This time the phone started ringing again. Just about time Samir thought it was going to drop to voice note again, she picked the call.
"Hello, daddy." Her voice sounded distance and she sounded like she was yawning.
"Amie, you need to come to New Central State." He said in place of hello.
Amie groaned. "What are you doing over there?" She asked.
If there was something Amie knew well about her father, he seeem to always walk to where danger was all by himself.
Then as if she realized something all of a sudden, she groaned. "Don’t tell me you actually went in pursuit of that deal, daddy? I already told you to calm down. I’m still searching for the best time to ask Rauf for the money. He seemed a bit angry this days"
Samir flashed back to how he had glared at him. If he were some novice, he would have piss on himself.
But right now he only calmed himself down before speaking. "I know. I just left his hotel here."
That seemed to jerk Amie fully awake. "You were with Rauf?"
"That was just what I said." He hissed at her.
"Listen Amie, something huge just happened right now."
But Amie was no longer paying attention to her father. "Did you think Rauf found out something and that was why he left Kansas?"
Annoyed, Samir screamed into the phone. "Will you shut up and listen to me." That earned him few glances from onlookers, but it did the job of keeping Amie’s mouth perfectly shut.
"What father?"
"Look, I just discovered something huge. Way bigger then Rauf schemed. Do you want to achieve whatever you want? Don’t you want that designer bags and clothes anymore? What about changing your cars the way you like?" He knew exactly the kind of things that made Amie tickled. And listing those things got all of Amie’s attention.
"Of course, I do, daddy." She sounded pissed off. "I just haven’t been able to get enough from Rauf. I don’t think he now trust me."
Samir let out a curse. "Curse Rauf and curse whatever he had. I’m not talking about him here. I’m talking about something way bigger then him."
"Okay, daddy. I’m all ears." He could detect doubts in her voice, but he knew when she heard him she would be excited.
So he explained how Rauf had suddenly asked him about June’s mother
"Did you think he found out June was his wife?" She interrupted. "Maybe that was why he was searching for her mother."
Again Samir hissed. "Will you keep quiet and actually listen to me?"
"Okay."
Then he told her June’s mother was the Mafia Queen, and how she had been actively searching for her daughter. But the best news was, she had no idea what June looked like.
Samir had kept them serperated since after the divorce and he had somehow made him impossible for her to come new to his daughter.
"Now, all I need you to do is take her position as the daughter of the Mafia Queen."
Silence.
There was absolute silence at the other side of the phone, then an excited burst. "Daddy. You’re simply a genius. But do you think she wouldn’t know. June and I look so different. I mean, I am way beautiful than her."
"Have you been listening to me? I told you she had no idea what June looks like. They were something she left behind for her daughter. She had begged me to give it to her as recognition, but I had since ignored it. You’ll need to go to the house and pick them up before coming over here."
"Okay, daddy."
"I need you to dress the part and remember your mother is your step mother. Don’t ever make the mistake of calling her mother. You’re Serena’s daughter from now on."
Amie laughed at the other side of the phone. "I’m the Mafia Queen’s daughter." Then as if she just remembered something important. "What about Rauf, daddy?"
"Do this first and you can think about him later? As the daughter of the Mafia Queen, you can have whatever you want in this world."
"Whatever, daddy?" She asked again.
"Yes, Amie. Whatever."
"Including Rauf Salvador?" She asked.
Amie’s laughter rang in his ear. "Let’s do this, father."
