June woke up with a loud ringing in her ears. She plung her right index finger in her ears and blew out nothing.

Her morning sickness had gradually reduced, but now she was plunge with a different illness - if she would call it that. She was now always hungry.

She rolled herself from the bed as she felt like staying in bed.

It had been a week since she had that discussion with Andy, and she had thought about it.

She was willing to give it a chance, maybe after she had given birth or something. But right now, her child is her priority. She had another appointment with the doctor, and somehow she dread going.

The last time she went, he had asked about her husband, and she had to lie he was on a trip.

She couldn’t tell her doctor that she and her baby had been abandoned by her husband.

"Good morning, my darling goddaughter." Ellie said, talking directly to her stomach while openly ignoring her.

June rolled her eyes.

Evelyn was perched at there favourite side at the window, tuning her radio. "Good morning, June." She said before murmuring more about the insecurity in the state.

Evelyn early morning exercises was listening to the news and cursing everything that was said in it.

The table was filled with rice, garnished chicken, sweet potato and vegetables. Then in a side there was apple and watermelon.

June darted her eyes round, sitting herself down she dished the rice into the plate, while her eyes moved to the potato.

Before she could pull the potato, Ellie pulled it.

"Ellie..." June shouted. "Come on. You know I have been craving potatoes and that was why granny made it."

Ellie only pulled the plate closer. "When are we going there?"

"Where?" June asked in irritation. She was only trying to pretend she wasn’t getting angry by the minute.

"You know. To the address Chris gave to you."

June rolled her eyes. "Do you want to go there because of me or because of Chris?"

Ellie blinked. "You don’t have to make me choose. You know both are important."

"Even if Chris turns out to be some evil man maltreating my mother, you still want to be with him."

Ellie thought about it for a while, then she shook her head. "Chris can’t be evil. Someone as handsome as that, can be anything but evil."

June rolled her eyes again. "And there you go judging a book by it’s cover."

Ellie shrugged. "What’s wrong with that? A book cover is a very good representation of what the book will contains."

June sighed. It was useless trying to win a point against Ellie. There was only one way she could make Ellie return the food with submitting to her.

Suddenly, June clutched her stomach. "Ooh..." She screamed, gaining both Ellie’s and Evelyn’s attention.

Ellie forgo the plate in front of her and ran to her side, but before she could console June, she already pulled the plate and started eating.

Evelyn who was just about to run towards her, sat back. She only smiled at the women before going back to her radio.

Once June was done with the delicious meal, she picked one of the apple and waved at Ellie.

Her mood that morning had improved greatly due to the fact that she had ate what she was craving, and to make it better, she had outsmarted Ellie.

It was all she could think of until she got to the front of the clinic.

The first odd thing was the car in front of the clinic. It wasn’t strange seeing an expensive car at the clinic, but it was odd because it looked familiar. Then she got to her front and there he was again.

This time with his dog in his hand.

June frowned at him, but the moment she saw the dog, she smiled.

Milo barked at her while wiggling her tail.

She smiled at the door. His leg seemed to have healed completely.

"At least you’re glad to see one of us, that’s good news." He said.

Finally, June turned her attention to him. She didn’t want to come off as rude, so she asked. "Did you bring Milo for his check up?"

Chris shook his head. "Milo is just as the excuse. I came to check on you."

"Ooh." Then she turned her attention back to the door. After opening the clinic’s door, she turned back to him. "Well, as you can see I am fine. Excellent."

And before he could say another word, she closed the door on his face.

Chris stood at the door, blinking at the door.

It was a first.

No one had ever reacted to him that way before. Not ever.

His smile only got wider at it.

Fiesty.

He loved it.

The few things his assistant had told him was that June was new in New Central State and was living with her friend.

Most of her other informations were off record.

He had no idea why she had relocated to New Central State. Neither does he have information about her family.

But Chris didn’t mind at all.

After leaving the Mafia Queen house, Rauf returned to the hotel to see an anxious looking Henson waiting for him at his door.

"What’s the problem?" He asked, unlocking the door.

Now that he had enlisted the help of the Junox empire, he had a feeling he was going to find June soon. And they would be back at home.

Then he could confront his mother and also punish Amie for trying to play him.

"Sir, Samir had arrived at New Central State and his having issues with Tim Mafia."

"So?" Rauf asked with no interest. "What had that got to do with us?"

Henson shifted in his foot. "The Junox Mafia hates gang war in their city. And if they discover that Samir is your father-in-law, they wouldn’t want to help with finding Miss June."

Rauf hadn’t thought about it in that way.

He frowned. "Get Samir here as soon as you can. And I need you to find out about the Mafia queen marriage back at Kansas."

Henson nodded.

Back at the clinic, June was done arranging everything she had to, and Chris was still waiting outside the clinic. If he didn’t leave soon, Andy would find him there and act strange again.

June sighed, pulling the door open. "Fine, come in."

Chris didn’t have to be told twice.

He walked into the clinic dropping Milo on the stood. His eyes moved around as if he had interest in the objects in front of him.

June’s eyes trailed after her. Her heart thumping as she remembered the address on the card. Maybe it was a mistake.

But she needed to know.

Now that he was here, she would just have to ask him.

June cleared her throat noisily, dragging his attention back to her.

"So, your name is Chris Vassari?"

Chris stopped right in front of her, looking down at her with so much interest. "You kept the card." He sounded surprised. "Then why haven’t you visited."

She ignored the him. "Hmmm. I wanted to ask if you have slaves in your house."

Chris smiled. "Salves? Not really. We have workers but not slave."

Then as if he could read something in her face, he continued. "Why do you ask?"

Now that she already spoke about it, June shrugged. Maybe she should just ask. "I’m searching for my mother. She has the same home address as yours."

Chris stopped upright. "Your mother?"

She nodded.

"What’s her name?"

June blinked.

She couldn’t believe she was so stupid not to have asked of her mother’s name. She had just he so excited to finally get something about her mother.

And the name wasn’t in the letter.

"I don’t know her name."

Chris leaned back. "Sorry about that, but I can assure that everyone in my service is of free will. If your mother is with us, she should find you soon."

June nodded. She also hope to find her mother soon.
