AN: I am so sorry for the delay. This is the best I can muster in my current state. Hopefully, I can go back to my regular upload schedule soon. Happy reading.

Yu Wen was determined to win Li Jun’s heart, so he woke up early and prepared breakfast for him. He knew what Li Jun liked to eat, so he joined the chef who was making breakfast for the base.

In the corner of the busy kitchen, Yu Wen prepared some fluffy souffle pancakes. The chef held his hand in his heart, watching him butcher what should have been an easy recipe. He had never wanted to curse someone out of his kitchen this badly.

There were several victims, and each time he wasted ingredients, the chef’s heart dropped. He just wanted to throw him out and ban him so he wouldn’t commit such atrocious acts ever again. His lips were twitching in anger, but he still restrained himself. This was his superior after all.

Only three came out looking acceptable. As for the taste, well, only the person who was going to have the honor to eat it could tell. He was just so happy that Yu Wen didn’t volunteer to make other things as well. The general just asked him to add other dishes to the tray for him.

This was the breakfast Li Jun woke up to. He washed up, and when he came back, Yu Wen had already set up. He was patiently waiting for him. "Wow, this looks delicious," he said as Yu Wen pulled the chair for him.

"Sit," he said with a smile, eager for Li Jun to try out what he had made. Li Jun sat down, and his chair was pushed forward. Yu Wen brought the plate of pancakes in front of him. He didn’t show it, but he was so eager for him to try it. He hoped Li Jun would like it and possibly praise him.

Seeing the impossibly fluffy, golden clouds stacked high on the plate he smiled excitedly. Li Jun shook the plate, and the stack wobbled delicately, looking so ethereal. Yu Wen sat down next to him and asked, "Do you like it?"

Li Jun said, "Isn’t the answer obvious? You already know that I like them. That’s the reason why you brought them, right?"

Yu Wen could have told him that he also made them, but he didn’t. What if they were bad? What if Li Jun hated them? Wouldn’t that be embarrassing?

Li Jun cut through the fluffy stack and took a bite. His eyes closed, savoring the taste. It was lightly sweet and airy, melting on the tongue with a custard-like softness that felt closer to eating sweetened foam than a traditional pancake.

The entire time, Yu Wen was staring at him, waiting anxiously for his feedback. His anxiety heightened with each passing second. When Li Jun finally opened his eyes, he let out a groan in satisfaction.

"Mm, this is really good. Did sister Jia make it?" he asked before taking another bite.

Yu Wen could barely contain his smile. He picked up his cutlery while replying, "No... I made it."

Li Jun spun his head sharply towards him, almost breaking his neck. Yu Wen had his head lowered, taking a bite of his scallion egg pancake. "Are you trying to get me to fall in love with you?" he asked.

Yu Wen turned to look at him, and with a slight smile he asked, "Is it working?" Their gazes locked, sparks flying between them. Li Jun felt like there were invisible hooks pulling him closer to Yu Wen.

Breaking away from the spell, he looked away and said, "Keep trying." He could feel Yu Wen’s gaze burning through his skin, but he didn’t look at him again. He ate his pancakes happily.

When that intense gaze disappeared, Li Jun turned around and brought the fork to Yu Wen’s lips. Yu Wen didn’t refuse. He leaned towards him and accepted the offer. He wasn’t really a fan of pancakes, but he would eat anything li Jun gave to him.

As he chewed, Li Jun’s gaze trailed down to his lips. He bit his lower lip slightly as though contemplating something. He suddenly leaned forward and kissed Yu Wen. Yu Wen, however, wasn’t expecting such a reward.

Li Jun’s lips carried a faint sweetness, with a creamy, milky undertone. He tasted like warm vanilla mingled with butter. The scent was soft and comforting, making him yearn for more. Before he could thoroughly indulge himself, Li Jun pulled back.

He licked his lip before continuing to eat like he hadn’t just provoked Yu Wen just now. Yu Wen kept staring at the man’s handsome side profile. His heart was racing. He just loved this man so much and wanted nothing more than to make him his forever. The urge was so strong that it was hard to conceal.

He reached over, wrapping his arm around Li Jun’s waist. Li Jun’s muscles stiffened slightly. He turned his gaze to the man who was resting on his shoulder. In an intimate whisper, Yu Wen asked, "After this is over, can we go on a vacation together? Just the two of us."

Li Jun’s gaze focused on the man’s long eyelashes, flattering as he blinked. His expression looked so pitiful as though begging him with his eyes. Li Jun knew that when all of this was over, he would be incredibly busy.

Ever since he decided to take back what once belonged to him, he knew his relaxed and chilled life would come to an end. He would have to take on the great responsibility his father had trained him all his life for. He was the only one with the surname Li who had the right intentions for the people of Aurelia. That fact had already been made clear ever since he faked his death.

He wanted to accept Yu Wen’s offer, but he knew that he would only be deceiving him. "When this is over, I will probably be busy," he answered honestly.

Yu Wen had never asked Li Jun what he wanted to do. That’s because too many things were happening at the same time. Now that Li Jun had brought it up, he asked, "Do you want to take back that position?"

Li Jun didn’t expect him to ask. He smirked with a glint of mischief in his eyes. "Why? Are you going to snitch on me?"
