The Lord Demon King is Unfathomable!
Chapter 2113 Purging the Ranks_6
The enormous map was spread out on the table, marked with dense red lines and arrows.
Luo Yan stood by Edward's side, not speaking, but his gaze consistently lingered on several key points on the map.
The intelligence from the dwarves filled in the blanks for Campbell and Gutaf on the Ten Thousand Ridges Mountain Range's underground world.
With the help of these fellows who were born to dig, the upcoming war might progress much more smoothly.
"...The rats around Hot Spring Peak have mostly been cleared, but Mork the Soul Shatterer's subordinates haven't given up resistance. Their main forces have now retracted here—the Death Valley area."
Iron Beard pointed at a stretch of area on the map, his voice booming like a bell.
Everyone's eyes followed the direction of his index finger, focusing on the map's narrow ravine.
"According to our scouts, there's an extremely unusual magical fluctuation there. We suspect those damned rats have built a large teleportation array there, or at least some sort of evil altar... Whatever is there, we must take it."
Edward nodded, agreeing with Iron Beard's assessment.
"As it stands, Death Valley is the last natural barrier leading to the Rot Clan's heartland, the Blood and Flesh Royal Court. Once we capture it, victory will be within our grasp."
Ratmen aren't very cohesive creatures; most of the time, they're a scattered mess, only united under external forces.
Once the Three Races Alliance Army closes in on the Blood and Flesh Royal Court and successfully kills the Rot Clan's leader, the remaining ratmen won't even need them to act—the small rats will begin fighting amongst themselves, struggling endlessly for Mork's legacy.
"Leave it to me!"
A clear yet determined voice sounded.
Princess Erin stepped forward, her long silver hair glimmering in the candlelight. Her hand rested on the sword hilt, and fighting spirit burned in her emerald eyes.
"I am willing to lead Campbell's warriors to breach Death Valley's defenses. Since it's the most dangerous chokepoint, I believe it needs me."
Edward was about to speak, but Luo Yan interjected first.
"No rush."
Erin looked at Colin with surprise, her emerald eyes questioning why he would stop her.
Luo Yan didn't back down due to Erin's surprise; instead, he approached the map and shared his thoughts in a gentle voice.
"We know very little about Death Valley; the intelligence there is completely blank to us. Erin, I know your strength, but I don't want to expose our ace so soon..."
With that, he turned his head towards Sak Jifeng, who stood nearby.
"Sak, the warriors of Gutaf Kingdom act swiftly and react promptly. I suggest you lead a probing feint to assess what's there?"
All eyes fell on the tallest wind lizard in the cave, who was momentarily stunned, not expecting the Demon King to pass the ball to him, and immediately replied.
"Of course, Your Highness!"
Sak stepped forward, his right claw clenched into a fist and pounded his chest, producing a dull sound.
"The dictionary of Gutaf Kingdom does not include the word 'retreat'! Those blasphemous rats shall be crushed by our sharp claws! We will pave the way for the Three Races Alliance Army!"
In any case, it wasn't Gutaf's warriors tasked with tackling this hard bone.
Moreover, even if Gutaf's warriors were needed, he had no objections; after all, it's not the wind lizards' job.
Luo Yan nodded with a smile.
"Thank you... but there's no need to risk lives. I want to define this feint as an 'intrusive reconnaissance'; simply returning with the intelligence will count as a win."
He understood Erin's intentions clearly, wanting to use the power of the Light of Praise to minimize casualties in the Three Races Alliance Army.
He admitted her intentions were good, but realistically, that's impossible.
Even those possessing the Divine power of the Butterfly of All Things cannot replace mortals in every battle, and besides, he had to leave some game experience for his players.
After all, he couldn't have the entire expansion pack just displaying cutscene CG from beginning to end.
Iron Beard stroked his beard, his eyes turning as if he understood, yet not fully grasping.
This prince from the empire had some skills, always coming up with words he didn't understand, seemed like a formidable figure!
Definitely worth getting to know better!
Erin bit her lip somewhat reluctantly, but seeing the reassuring look from Luo Yan, she obediently stepped back.
Edward's face carried a smile as he spoke.
"Then today's military meeting is concluded, Sak Jifeng, if you need any support, don't hesitate to inform me!"
Sak Jifeng presented a stern and reliable expression to everyone.
"No need, the people of the Dragon God excel in duels; we view dueling as an honor. Just wait for our triumphant return from afar!"
