The Last Paragon in the Apocalypse

Chapter 1776: Return of the Asura Race (3)

  • Next Chapter

After the Ancient Battlefield, Asura went to see the Burning Angel for a special mission. This mission was, of course, at the Chaos Cave.

Just like how Anna asked what they would do if a Primordial-Level Beast showed up, Asura also had that same thought in his mind, and so he went to the only person he knew could handle such a threat.

He wanted someone who isn’t quite a primordial but can fight one. This way, if the primordial were to use Primordial Qi, the heavens would punish them, which would work to their advantage.

The Burning Angel had been working around the clock to finally step into the ranks of a Primordial for the past couple of months.

Klaus had given him his blood, and that had helped him tremendously. However, the Burning Angel is an overachiever, so instead of breaking through, he has been working to strengthen his foundation.

Atomic and Icon had already fixed all flaws in his body, so he was able to do more than he could before.

After 6 months, his foundation is as strong as ever. Klaus knew that, with his strength now, taking on a Primordial wouldn’t in any way pose a much greater threat to him.

So while Queenie led her team into battle, he, alongside the Burning Angel, would be taking on the Primordial.

So even before he invited her over, he was already prepared to go into full combat mode.

It took a few seconds, but eventually, the void exploded open, and the classic void gateway that all Primordials use opened. Then, from its open maw, a silver-haired beauty with wolf-like ears stepped out, her expression showing neither hostility nor friendliness.

This instantly made Asura start channeling energy.

In his opinion, if they show hostility, you know they want to kill you, but if they show a friendly expression, you are safe. This lady showed neither, which clearly didn’t reveal her emotional state.

But while inwardly he was prepared for combat, outwardly he seemed calm and even wore a smile...

"My name is Asura. These three are the Burning Angel, Nyrela and Lord Victor," Asura introduced themselves and then asked, "May we know senior is."

The silver-haired wolf lady said nothing and casually walked toward them until she was 5 meters away from them. She scanned their faces, and then she sighed...

"I am the Grand Alpha Chaos Wolf, Khana, the guardian of the Silver Moon Chaos Wolf Pack." She still showed no hostility nor friendliness. "I would like to understand why you are attacking my domain without my permission."

Instead of answering the question outright, Asura first took a sip of his tea and said, "The fact that you are not attacking us clearly shows you don’t care what happens to these Chaos Beasts.

"From what I know from my many life experiences, these beasts annoy you just as much as they do us.

"Since that is the case, why don’t you tell us what is really happening here, and then we can talk? You are an intelligent beast, so I know you know that if we are to fight, you won’t win. You may be able to walk away alive, but what then happens to your pack?"

This time, the wolf lady let a frown appear on her otherwise beautiful face.

However, it didn’t last long...

"Your deduction skills aren’t too bad. And yes, the beasts here aren’t all under my protection. West of here, my Silver Moon Chaos Wolf Pack is my only duty as a guardian to protect, and so you can say what happens to these beasts is none of my problem."

Asura smiled and asked, "So if we leave the Silver Moon Chaos Wolf Pack alone, you won’t have any issue with us killing the other beasts. Is that what you are telling us?"

"That is precisely what I said."

"Then you have nothing to worry about. My team and I will not touch the Silver Moon Chaos Wolf Pack."

Khana nodded, and then she vanished from sight, finally allowing Asura and his friends to breathe a sigh of relief...

"Primordials are indeed scary. I do hope I won’t have to face them until after I reach the Supreme stage or even the Celestial stage."

Somehow, he doubted that would be the case. But since he had managed to escape the wrath of one, he would work around the clock to avoid more of their kind in the future.

Asura informed Queenie, who passed the information to the rest of her team, that they should avoid the western part of the Chaos Cave.

The campaign to clear the other regions, however, continued, and from what Klaus had observed so far, the Beast Legion was moving with practical ease.

They had, in the past, been one of the deadliest legions to walk the face of the universe.

While the battle that happened during the latter parts of the Star Monarch’s life had claimed over 500,000 of them, they took down close to twice that number, making it one of the greatest losses the Heavens Court had sustained after the Blood War.

So watching them move with lethal precision told Klaus what he needed to know... "They are much stronger and well-coordinated than before."

He smiled and continued to watch.

Meanwhile, flanking Queenie and her team as they journeyed due north, where the gateway was, Asha and Nadia had unleashed their legions on the Chaos Beasts.

To the left, Asha had summoned 50,000 God-tier insect warriors. The weakest of them was at the God Emperor stage, but with the aura of a Universe God.

She also summoned 5,000 Supreme-tier insect warriors, who, looking at how they moved, were clearly well-coordinated and determined to impress their Queen.

Then there were a whopping 1,000 Celestial-tier insect warriors who even Asura couldn’t help but be wary of.

A long time ago, the Senior who used to live in his soul once told him a day would come when the Hive Queen would become a threat that even Klaus himself could not handle easily.

Perhaps that time had come, for the kind of line-up Asha had unleashed was terrifying.

What even shocked Klaus was the fact that aside from the God, Supreme and Celestial-tier insect warriors, she also had 10 Pseudo-Primordial-tier insect warriors, and that excluded Jinx and Linx.
