Chapter 1505: Banter with the Burning Angel
Chapter 1505: Banter with the Burning Angel
For a world that prided itself on having some of the strongest security measures in place to stop even a Celestial, the fact that none of those security measures were triggered when the Burning Angel appeared was shocking.
The Jade Queen is a Celestial King, someone who had already moved past the True Celestial stage, meaning she had comprehended at least 50% of her Dao.
Naturally, that makes her a terrifying opponent. However, inasmuch as one looked at it, even if all of her security measures failed, the mere fact that she herself didn't sense the presence of the Burning Angel told her how weak she is compared to this man.
But away from the Burning Angel, how the hell did Klaus notice the Burning Angel when she didn't? This question was asked by her, Lord Emerald, the six Celestial Elders seated in the hall, and everyone else, including Rory.
This question left them all looking at Klaus like he was some monster.
Even the Burning Angel was taken aback. He gestured for everyone to remain seated, since he hates being called all kinds of names.
"How did you even sense my presence," he asked after the portal closed behind him.
"Isn't it obvious?" Klaus pointed at his eyes, "Nothing escapes these eyes."
The Burning Angel furrowed his brow, realizing why Klaus was able to sense him or perhaps see him when others couldn't.
A couple of months back, when he pulled Klaus, Lord Victor, and Rory to the Burning Planet, he gave Klaus a technique called Seven Dominion Eye to learn as a test.
It was a technique meant for the eye. It allows one to see past several layers of reality. If mastered to a certain stage, knowing the strengths and weaknesses of your opponent is as simple as looking at them.
Klaus had already learned and cultivated the first three levels, which allow him to see into a person's soul and, to some extent, even their skills and techniques.
When they parted ways, Klaus couldn't even see into the first layer of the Burning Angel, so why then did he sense him now?
The answer is very simple. Instead of using just the Seven Dominion Eye, Klaus combined three different eye techniques.
He layered the Void Eyes, Calamity Eye, and Seven Dominion Eye, merging them to become one. This allowed him to see deep into the void, and that was how he sensed him.
"You really are a monster, aren't you,"
Klaus smiled, "Apparently, not as monstrous as the Paragon,"
"True," the Burning Angel said with a scoff before taking a seat on the side.
Klaus glared at him and smirked before turning back to the Jade Queen.
"Sorry for the interruption, My Queen, some people are just too rude, they can break into your world without offering an apology,"
"It is alright, Renegade Hunter, Senior Burning Angel is always welcome to Blue Jade Planet."
Klaus squinted his eyes a little, "No need to be polite, My Queen, if you are worried he would do anything drastic, then you have nothing to worry about. If he dares to make things difficult for you, I will just contact my family and tell them he bullied me. I am sure they would love to thrash him."
This time, even the Jade Queen widened her eyes. Naturally, it is perfectly normal for a True Immortal to be on friendly terms with even a god.
After all, gods in the grand scheme of things are merely foot soldiers. So being friends with them is normal.
However, being on a friendly tone with a Celestial sitting at the peak, that is where the line is drawn. Even a master and disciple cannot be that friendly.
So why then is Klaus that free with the Burning Angel to the point he can freely threaten him? That doesn't make any sense.
However, from the smirk on the Burning Angel's face, they can all tell he didn't mind. One could even see the amusement on his face.
"Senior Burning Angel, I apologize on the Renegade Hunter's behalf. He is still too young to understand the hierarchy," the Jade Queen apologized, then she shot Klaus a fierce gaze.
Before Klaus could say anything, the Burning Angel spoke, "No need, young lady. Klaus, here is someone I have recognized as an equal. I don't know how you see him, but if you can see what I did, then perhaps you would also adopt him as your friend or even a brother.
Trust me, I have been around for a long time and seen all kinds of prodigies, but this kid is one of a kind. He reminds me of my youth,"
Klaus chukled, "Oh, please, let's not get ahead of ourselves. If you were anything like me in your youth, you wouldn't be alive by now."
The Burning Angel smirked, "Are you saying you will die before reaching my level,"
Klaus chuckled, "Isn't that obvious? Already, I have Supremes coming after me, and recently, while that bastard pisses me off, he pointed out even the Heavens Court wants me dead. Now, he has also set his sights on me. So tell me, if all of this danger were after you, would you have survived in your youth."
"If you put it that way, then maybe you actually would be dying soon. In any case, rest in peace in advance. I will be sure to spread your ashes in the River of Styx."
Klaus scoffed but said nothing.
Already, he could see the shocked look on everyone's face, so he knew if he continued to banter with the Burning Angel, some of them would start developing bleeding noses.
"My Queen, I apologize for that. I never expected Big Brother to appear here today. That said, while I cannot become your disciple, I can become something else. I happen to possess varieties of talents that you might find interesting."
It took the Jade Queen ten full minutes to reply, "I will take you up on that offer. In any case, I brought you here because Senior Burning Angel asked me to."
Klaus nodded and turned to the Burning Angel. "Big bro, why did you ask for us to be brought here?"
"Victor called me and said you were in danger. He also said you had formed some alliance with the Jade Princess, so I figured, why not let her mother know."
"So in other words, you were too lazy to come and save us personally," Klaus narrowed his eyes at the Burning Angel, "What if a Supreme had appeared to attack us?"
"Thankfully, a Supreme didn't appear, so you can calm your heart down."
The Burning Angel smirked and turned to Lord Victor, "I want to take you somewhere. Get your affairs in order so we can leave,"
"Okay, Master,"
Lord Victor turned to Klaus, who nodded and retrieved three bottles of Immortal Essence Water. "Here you go,"
"Thank you, Klaus."
"No need. There is one more thing," Klaus stepped forward and pressed his index finger against Lord Victor's forehead, and transferred a technique to him.
"Master that technique before becoming a demigod. Trust me, once mastered, even as a demigod, true gods would cower before you,"
Lord Victor's eyes widened, his mind filled with the strongest soul technique he had ever seen. "Thank you, Klaus,"
"You are welcome."
Klaus turned back to the Burning Angel, "Thank you for coming through for us. I owe you one,"
"You better pay up soon before I come knocking." With a glance in the Jade Queen's direction, the Burning Angel stepped into the red flame portal, and Lord Victor followed.
*HAAA*
The moment it closed, everyone exhaled, their foreheads breaking into cold sweat.
Klaus smiled.
