The woman stood in the Hall of Unity like a figure from another time.

She was tall and ethereal, with silver hair that cascaded like moonlight and eyes that glowed with ancient power. Her robes were simple but elegant, woven from threads that seemed to shimmer with their own light. She carried no weapons, but the air around her crackled with energy that made James's golden fire stir with recognition.

"I am Elara," she said, her voice echoing with authority. "Keeper of the Dragonheart Legacy."

Kael stepped forward, his mismatched eyes wide with shock. "Elara? As in... Elara Shadowvale? My ancestor?"

The woman's eyes flickered with something ancient and sorrowful. "Yes. I am the one who betrayed your parents, James. I am the one who gave the Celestial Council the information they needed to destroy the rebellion."

James's golden fire blazed with cold fury. "You have a lot of nerve showing up here."

Elara met his gaze without flinching. "I know. But I didn't come here to ask for forgiveness. I came here to fulfill your parents' final request."

James's jaw tightened. "My parents' final request? They're dead. You killed them."

Elara shook her head slowly. "I betrayed them. I gave the Council information that led to their deaths. But I did it to protect something greater. Something your parents were willing to sacrifice everything for."

Serena stepped forward, her ice-blue eyes sharp. "What are you talking about?"

Elara raised her hand, and a vision formed in the air. It showed James's parents, standing in a hidden chamber, their faces filled with determination.

"If we fail," James's mother said, her voice echoing through the vision, "if the Council destroys us, we need someone to protect the Legacy. Someone who will ensure that the Dragonheart bloodline survives."

"Elara," James's father added, "we trust you. Even if you betray us to save the realms, we trust you to protect our son. To guide him when the time comes."

The vision faded, and Elara lowered her hand.

"I betrayed your parents," she said quietly. "But I also loved them. I made a promise to protect you, James. And I've kept that promise, even when it meant watching from the shadows."

James was silent for a long moment. The golden fire in his chest burned with a mix of rage and confusion.

"Why didn't you tell me this before? Why wait until now?"

Elara's ancient eyes met his. "Because you weren't ready. You needed to grow. To become strong enough to face the truth. And now, finally, you are."

Kael stepped forward, his mismatched eyes filled with conflicting emotions. "If you're truly the Keeper of the Dragonheart Legacy, then what is the Legacy? What did James's parents leave behind?"

Elara smiled—a gentle, sorrowful smile. "A gift. And a burden. The Legacy is the true power of the Dragonheart bloodline—the ability to reshape reality itself. Your parents wanted to use it to defeat the Council. But I believed it was too dangerous. I believed it would destroy everything."

James's golden fire blazed brighter. "And now? What do you believe now?"

Elara studied him for a long moment. "Now I believe that you are different from your parents. You have their strength, their courage, their vision. But you also have something they lacked. Wisdom. Compassion. A willingness to listen."

She stepped closer, her ancient eyes blazing with intensity.

"The Legacy is yours, James. It has always been yours. Your parents sealed it within your bloodline, waiting for the moment when you would be ready to claim it. That moment is now."

The Journey to the Heart

Elara led them through the Aetherwilds, to a place James had never seen.

The Heart of the Dragon was a massive cavern hidden beneath the Dragon's Rest. Its walls were covered in ancient symbols—the same symbols that blazed across James's skin. At its center stood a massive crystal, pulsing with golden light.

"The Legacy is sealed within this crystal," Elara explained. "Your parents placed it here to protect it from the Council. Only a Dragonheart can unlock its power."

James stepped forward, his golden fire blazing around him. "What will happen when I unlock it?"

Elara's expression was unreadable. "You will gain the full power of the Dragonheart bloodline. You will be able to reshape reality itself. But you must be careful. The power is immense. It can be used for good or for evil. It can create or destroy. It can heal or wound."

James placed his hand on the crystal, and the golden fire exploded from his body. The light was blinding, overwhelming, consuming. James felt the power surging through him—ancient, eternal, unstoppable.

And then, suddenly, it stopped.

The crystal shattered. The symbols on the walls blazed to life. And James stood at the center of the cavern, his body blazing with golden fire.

Elara's voice was barely a whisper. "It is done. The Legacy is yours."

James looked down at his hands. The golden fire pulsed gently, responsive to his thoughts. He felt connected to everything—to his ancestors, to the realms, to the very fabric of reality itself.

"What do I do now?" he asked.

Elara smiled—a genuine, heartfelt expression. "You build. You lead. You protect. You use your power to create a world where no one has to suffer as you did."

James nodded slowly, the golden fire in his chest blazing with fierce determination.

"Then let's get to work."

The New Threat

But peace was fragile.

As James emerged from the cavern, he found his allies waiting for him—but their faces were grim.

"James," Sage said, her scarred face troubled. "We've received word from the Earth Realm. There's a new threat. Something we've never seen before."

James's golden fire blazed. "What kind of threat?"

Sage's eyes were ancient and knowing. "A rift has opened near Ashford. Dark energy is pouring through it. Creatures are emerging—beings of pure shadow and chaos. They're attacking the villages. They're destroying everything in their path."

James's blood ran cold. "The Council's remnants?"

Sage shook her head slowly. "No. This is something else. Something older. Something that has been waiting for the Council's fall."

Elara stepped forward, her ancient eyes blazing. "The Void. It's a realm of pure chaos, sealed away centuries ago by the first Dragonheart. Now that the Council is gone, the seal is weakening."

James's fists clenched. "Then we seal it again. We stop the Void before it destroys everything."

Elara shook her head. "It's not that simple. The seal can only be strengthened by a Dragonheart. And it requires a sacrifice."

James met her gaze without flinching. "What kind of sacrifice?"

Elara's voice was barely a whisper. "The sacrifice of your power. The Legacy."
