The Kitty Became a Cutie and Was Pampered in the 80s
Chapter 2410
Chapter 2410: Chapter 2410
"She’s pregnant with your child and even went out of her way to buy you clothes today. Where could you find a wife like that? You must truly cherish her, understand?"
Ma Yinyin genuinely likes Feng Nianian. She’s had only Jiang Xun as her child her whole life, and he was lost for a time in his early years. Although they later reunited and their relationship is harmonious now, there’s still a bit of a gap; they’re not that close.
Feng Nianian fills that gap, especially since she used to be fond of Jiaojiao. But because of Jiang Bin’s situation, the two families have since had no contact.
Feng Nianian somewhat resembles Jiaojiao—obedient, sensible, and filial. Now that she’s carrying her grandchild, Ma Yinyin naturally becomes more enamored and genuinely loves her dearly.
As for her son, Jiang Xun, she finds his behavior somewhat hard to tolerate. Clearly, Jiang Yuanlong wasn’t the type to be fickle, so she doesn’t know whom her son takes after.
Back then, she tried everything from beating to scolding him and even nearly severed their father-son relationship, but couldn’t change him. She’s grown older, her heart softens more easily, and now all she can do is shower more affection on Feng Nianian.
She usually seizes any opportunity to encourage the young couple, like now.
Jiang Xun is together with Feng Nianian out of a sense of responsibility, but there isn’t entirely a lack of affection. Remembering the call he’d just cut off, he responded and went to Duan Sishu’s place after work.
However, at that moment, Feng Nianian wasn’t home; Duan Sishu was the one who opened the door.
Seeing Duan Sishu open the door, Jiang Xun hesitated for a moment outside.
Duan Sishu inherited the good looks of the Duan Family, living comfortably over the years. Even after marrying Yuansu, she hadn’t suffered; thus, even in middle age, she maintained herself well, looking like she was just over thirty to those unaware.
But now, she seemed like a different person in just a month. She was still the same person, but had lost some weight, her complexion wasn’t good, with dark circles under her eyes and lips faintly purplish, giving the impression as if her vitality had been sucked away by some demon.
"Oh, it’s Xiaoxun! Please come in." Duan Sishu was quite satisfied with her son-in-law, welcoming him with a smile.
"Mom, are you feeling unwell?" Jiang Xun asked as he entered.
"Not really. Oh, I’ve been a bit anemic lately, but it’s nothing serious; Nianian makes sure someone helps me improve my blood every day."
Duan Sishu explained, touching her face as she spoke. Since she looks at it every day, her perception wasn’t as stark as Jiang Xun’s.
Jiang Xun wasn’t deeply concerned. Seeing she claimed it wasn’t serious, he didn’t ask further. He glanced around the room but didn’t see Feng Nianian, so he changed the subject: "Is Nianian not home?"
"She said she went out for something. Sit down, I’ll call her and ask her to come back soon."
Jiang Xun responded but didn’t say much more. He didn’t have much to chat about with Duan Sishu nor enjoy staying around there. He hoped Nianian would return quickly so he could leave sooner.
As Duan Sishu went to make the call, Jiang Xun sat on the sofa, casually scanning the furniture in the room. He rarely visits this place—almost countably few times. Even when he does, he doesn’t linger; he usually just picks up or drops off Feng Nianian. Today was the first time he sat in the living room and examined the furnishings seriously.
Soon his gaze was drawn to the three photo frames placed above the television.
He got up and walked over, frowning as he looked at those photos.
