Chapter 310 - Girl Over Friend!
At the same time, Javier was present in the headmistress's office.
Sitting inside of the office, he stared at the lady with relaxation present in his eyes. The setting was absolutely relaxed, showing no discomfort or the guilt of missing his exam.
In contrast to her expressions, the headmistress was tense. Her eyes looked at the screen, then shifted to see Javier. "You missed your exam.."
"I did. How was I supposed to attend when I'm sitting in your office from the early morning.'' Javier answered, with a clear not minding tone.
The headmistress adjusted her glasses, to keep her hands over the table and stare at the arrogant man for her, "What are you playing to do, Mr. Johnson?"
"I already gave you my letter of what I want." Javier's words weren't liked by the headmistress but the sparkles in his eyes were hard to miss.
There wasn't even a tinge of unhappiness in him for missing his exam today. Even though he prepared it well, it was all a waste when his intent was never to give this paper ever!
"So, you want me to fail you this year and... make you stay in the second semester itself. Mr. Javier Johnson, this isn't any of your schools but a university. It has to run as per the no-" the headmistress's words are cut very badly when Javier laughed.
His chuckle was hard by her when his smile winded, almost reaching his own eyes, "Which norms? Aren't your norms saying that if a child fails to appear for his exam, he will have to repeat the year with the upcoming batch? I'm all ready for that."
"But why are you trying to do that? Neither will your uncle, nor your brother will like this. If they ask me the reason, it will be hard to tell them any lies." The headmistress wasn't a mere head.
This entire university lies in the hands of no one else but Javier Johnsons' s maternal family. His information is directly sent to his uncle or his brother.
What makes her worried is, if this information travels to their ears, they will demand an answer from her!
Because this wasn't any joke that Javier johnson is already in good studies. Failing? This would be hard representing on the papers of hers.
Javier nodded his agreement, "This will be difficult for you to answer then. Just Say, Javier was sick this time and wasn't in the condition to give papers. I believe it will be enough for you to make it up?"
The headmaster stared at her students, with her eyes breaching in anger, "You are asking me to lie.."
"I'm asking you to allow me to repeat my class. This isn't too much to ask. I'm not giving the exam, you have all the rights to make me repeat this year as well."
For a while, there was no quiet answer from either side. They both stayed in thick silence. But this silence was met with hundreds of suspicious glances from the headmaster. However, Javier held himself and his emotions within himself as well.
After a while, letting out a tired sigh, Headmistress unwillingly nodded her head. "Alright. If that is what you want. I will do as you asked me but remember. This is the first and the last time, I'm making any big changes for you, Mr. Johnson."
A bright smile curved amidst his frosty expressions. His eyes turned into a crystal stone on showing how happier he was "Thank you so much. I will head out now."
He stood on his toes when he exited. His aura and demeanor changed automatically, as there wasn't any major setback he has gone through.
The glow and cheerfulness expressed over his lips was nowhere else to be found.
Who can say that this is his expression of repeating one more year?
On his way back to his own dorm, he came across two people. They were no one else but Frick and Ryan who had long awaited his arrival. On his appearance, they rushed by his side to stare at his fine face.
"Where were you the entire morning? Why did you not give your exams?" Instead of beating around, the bush anymore Frick came on the major and the promising question, to which Javier just kept this hand on his shoulders, "You don't have to worry about that."
"Javier...you were seen in the headmistress's office. Tell me, have you done something?" Ryan asked, with the slight suspicious glint that was at the bay of his eyes.
Frick held the same seriousness in this tone, where Javier realized that he had to tell the truth. After explaining to them what he had passed and did today, both of them were already shocked.
To their non-existence belief, this action of Javier was the most unexpected and unrelated one they have seen!
The first person to react among them was Frick, who almost lost his own control over this, "YOU are saying that you failed this exam intentionally so that you can...repeat your class!?"
"ARE YOU FUCKING OUT OF YOUR MIND JAVIER?!'' The yelling was loud, making the people close by to even look at them. Javier's eyes averted to see people around when he signaled Frick, 'Keep calm-"
"Don't tell me to keep calm!? You have seriously done nothing but a blunder. A true blunder Javier!" The Frick wasn't in anyone's control and there was no hidden fact.
Noting how much anger he rested in his actions, both Ryan and Javier asked him to come into the open space where they all three were alone.
In The ground where no one showed up, the three of them faced each other. The most infuriated one is none other than Frick, who never started to pop up on his hand. "For a mere girl, you are literally bent on preparing your classes!?"
"Frick, this was the only way. I told you guys I wish to know about her! You weren't ready to help and-"
"So you thought to just go in the same batch as her!? Are you an idiot? You are wasting your one year all because of that mere person! The girl whom you don't even know, who doesn't even know your name!" Frick's hand traveled towards his head where he felt frustrated.
The frustration level was very much high, showing how much he hated the part of this conversation. Not only that, the frown and the deep lines over his forehead were a clear indication that this wasn't how he wanted things to be.
Ryan, who had earlier decided to stay quiet, lifted his eyes to look at Javier. "I gave you this option months ago. Only if I knew you would take this seriously."
A tired expression plastered on Javier's face when he reasoned out, "This isn't that. Guys, why are you misunderstanding ky intentions!?"
"Intention? When we can see that this act of lie will only hurt you!" Frick came closer and held Javier's collar, out of nowhere. This alerted not only Javier but Ryan who held Frick's hand, trying to get his hand away from Javier's shirt. "Leave him, Frick'"
"Javier! We have seen you going through things. This isn't how I would like you to end your life. She is a Smith!"
"Isn't a smith brother, but from their land." Javier corrected without breaking eye contact. At this stage, he understood that nothing can make Frick understand, not even himself.
The bloodshot gaze of his was hard to let it unseen. Ryan was worried that Frick might start a physical fight now or then. To avoid the same, he pushed Frick away from Javier and stood in between them. "FRICK, control yourself."
"Me?" A chuckle left from Frick's lips when he looked at Javier with his furious gazes, "This man broke the friendship goals... He is going for Smith girl..."
"I'm not ten years old, people are sick. Stop treating me like this. Yes, I might have come through things but I have the right to make decisions on my own!" Javier finally lashed and spoke the words that revolted in his mind.
No one can deny that this world was harsh, even Ryan had to turn around and stare at the furious Javier who was earlier calm. But his calmness faded within time.
What replaced was anger, the frustration of being read wrong.
Neither did Frick move but stared at Javier with a mocking smirk, "I don't know this new Javier then."
No reply from either side but Frick continued. "You aren't ten years old anymore and have the rights to make decisions… so true. My mistake..I.. leave it."
He brought his hand over his head. Ruffling through his hair, he laughed slightly before he gave Javier the ultimate words of his.
"You chose her, in between our friendships and your life. Make your own decision Javier… because the old Javier Johnson I knew is already dead."
With this, Frick took a few steps back without tearing his gaze away. But thereafter, he turned around to leave the ground for once and all.
Ryan called his name a hundred times, but it was no use since neither did Frick stop in his walks, nor Javier asks him to stop.
Ryan stared at the torn expression of Javier. His chin had tightened around but he knew that he was hurt. "Javier.."
"Let him go. If he can, get to understand me... I'm better off without him." Javier answered when he lifted the cap of his black hoodie to wear on his head. "This is.. how.. sometimes friendship turns into a sour one, Ryan. A sour and bitter one..."
