"The Singularity of Chaos... It really is the Singularity of Chaos!"

Luminus’s excited exclamation caught Evalyn by surprise.

"T-The Singularity of Chaos?"

Evalyn took another close look at the avatar.

The black cloak and demonic mask he wore did indeed resemble the figure of the Singularity of Chaos who had appeared in the capital back then.

"How did you manage to contact the Singularity of Chaos, Evalyn!? Tell me! How did you do it!?"

The sword floated excitedly around her.

Evalyn fell silent.

How was she supposed to know?

She had absolutely no connection to the Singularity of Chaos. She had never even spoken to him, let alone interacted with him directly.

She really had no idea.

"I’m sorry, but I don’t know."

Evalyn shook her head honestly.

"Really?"

Luminus sounded doubtful.

"It’s true! You’re always with me, aren’t you? How could I possibly lie to you?"

Evalyn’s reasonable explanation left Luminus silent for quite a while.

"Then how on earth did you gain his protection?"

Evalyn rolled her eyes.

"I don’t know either! Why are you even asking me?" she snapped irritably.

While the two were still arguing, the sky darkened once more.

Golden and black lightning flashed across the sky again, but this time, the force behind it was far more terrifying.

"It’s coming... It’s coming again!" Luminus cried out in panic.

Evalyn tensed. She tried to get to her feet, but her body was still too weak to move properly.

Whoosh!

A terrifying slash of light shot past at an unimaginable speed. The surrounding space trembled, and the air itself seemed to distort under the immense pressure.

It happened so fast that Evalyn didn’t even have time to react.

Boom!

The slash exploded right in front of her, bursting into fiery sparks that scattered in every direction.

Evalyn took a deep breath. Her already disheveled face had grown even paler.

"W-What kind of attack was that...? I couldn’t even see it!" she muttered in fear.

If the Avatar of the Singularity of Chaos hadn’t been protecting her from behind, she might have already been split in two.

Luminus was just as terrified. The sword hovered behind Evalyn, staring in the direction the slash of light had come from.

Whoosh!

Four more slashes appeared, darting from side to side at a speed faster than the blink of an eye.

The Avatar of the Singularity of Chaos raised his hand. Instantly, the space around them trembled and tightened.

The four slashes came to an abrupt halt before shattering into pieces.

But the attack didn’t stop there. Seven more blazing slashes appeared one after another.

The ground and grass around Evalyn were torn apart and scorched by the relentless attacks.

However, the Avatar of the Singularity of Chaos effortlessly shattered every incoming slash.

Evalyn slowly began to relax.

She had been worried that the Avatar of the Singularity of Light’s attacks might break through the defenses of the Avatar of the Singularity of Chaos behind her, but luckily, that hadn’t happened.

A few minutes later, the attacks began to lose their intensity.

Evalyn blinked in confusion.

"Has the Singularity of Light given up?"

"Hmm..."

Luminus floated in front of her.

"It doesn’t look like it. The Singularity of Light is way too arrogant to admit defeat that easily."

Just as Luminus finished speaking, the dark clouds above them suddenly began swirling wildly.

The next moment, black and golden lightning intertwined, forming a gigantic, five-meter-tall figure.

"Singularity of Chaos! Why do you always get in my way!?" he shouted, his voice booming across the battlefield.

The imperial soldiers and the soldiers of Valtanir hurriedly covered their ears, but the sheer force of his voice still shook their bodies.

Their heads spun, and their hearts pounded wildly.

Freya, who was in the middle of stabbing a soldier from the Holy Empire of Valtanir, turned toward the giant figure of the Singularity of Light in the distance.

Her calm expression changed drastically.

"Singularity... of Light..." she growled through gritted teeth.

He was the true enemy of the Great Velmora Empire. If not for his existence, the empire would have already launched an attack on the border of the Eldrath Mountains.

She hadn’t expected him to appear here.

"But..." Her eyebrows furrowed. "Did he just mention the Singularity of Chaos? Could the Singularity of Chaos be here too?"

She scanned her surroundings, trying to spot the figure, but found no trace of him.

Freya wasn’t the only one confused. The soldiers on both sides also began searching for the Singularity of Chaos, but he was nowhere to be seen.

"T-The Singularity of Light! Oh no, he’s really here!"

Luminus panicked and flew around Evalyn.

"What should we do!? We can’t defeat someone as powerful as him!"

"Calm down!"

Evalyn gripped the sword’s hilt tightly.

"He’s not the real Singularity of Light, just an avatar! Besides, the Singularity of Chaos is right behind me. What’s there to be afraid of?"

Her words managed to calm Luminus down, though the sword was still visibly nervous.

Meanwhile, the Avatar of the Singularity of Chaos looked up at the giant figure of the Singularity of Light, formed from lightning in the sky.

"Why? Are you afraid?"

The Singularity of Light narrowed his eyes.

"Afraid? Hahaha! Are you kidding me?"

"Then why do you look so angry when you see me?"

"You’re getting in my way!" the Singularity of Light growled, his golden eyes fixed on Evalyn. "She killed my disciple, and I’ll avenge him no matter what!"

Evalyn’s skin crawled, and the hairs on the back of her neck stood on end. His gaze was so piercing that it felt as though it were stabbing straight into her soul.

At that moment, all her pride as a descendant of the Hero of Light seemed to crumble into a million pieces.

"Your disciple lost because he was weak. Is that really so hard to accept?"

The Singularity of Chaos’s words were like gasoline poured onto a raging fire.

"Are you insulting me!?" the Singularity of Light snapped.

"So what? What are you going to do about it? Want to fight? Come on, who’s afraid?"

"Good! Very good!"

The Singularity of Light grinned coldly.

"Since you insist on protecting her, don’t blame me for taking action against you!"

The Singularity of Chaos responded with a mocking smile.

His avatar slowly rose into the sky before disappearing into the dark clouds above the battlefield.

Boom!

Hundreds of lightning bolts crackled in every direction. A second later, the Singularity of Light vanished as well.

Evalyn stared blankly at the sky where they had disappeared.

"Is this... okay?" she muttered.
