The Hero Given to the Demon Queen
Chapter 3: The Sister’s Shadow
The Sister’s Shadow
Thirty minutes passed like a slow drowning.
Elara had managed to crawl onto the enormous bed, pulling the black silk sheets around her naked body as if they could somehow shield her. Her eyes were swollen, her throat raw. Every few moments a fresh tremor ran through her, and she pressed her face into the mattress to muffle the sounds that still escaped.
The lock clicked.
It was soft—almost polite—but in the heavy silence of the chamber it struck like a thunderclap. Elara’s head snapped up. The doors opened just wide enough for a slender figure to slip inside, then closed again with the same careful quiet.
Nyx.
The Queen’s younger sister stood with her back against the door for a moment, red eyes gleaming in the low crimson light. Her black hair was slightly disordered, as if she had come in haste. She lifted one finger to her lips.
“Shhh.”
Elara’s heart slammed against her ribs. She pushed herself up into a half-sitting position, clutching the sheets to her chest so tightly her knuckles whitened. Words tangled in her throat.
Nyx’s breathing was already uneven—deep, heavy, almost greedy. She did not speak. She only looked. Her gaze dragged slowly over every inch of exposed skin the sheets failed to cover: the curve of a bare shoulder, the pale line of a collarbone, the trembling hands. Her lips parted. A soft, shaky exhale left her.
Then she began to undress.
First the outer robe, shrugged from her shoulders and left to fall. Beneath it she wore little. She peeled the remaining fabric away without ceremony or shame, revealing a lean, dangerous body marked here and there with faint scars. Her red eyes never left Elara. When she was fully bare she stood for a moment longer, already flushed, the soft folds between her thighs visibly wet.
Elara’s voice finally broke free, thin and cracking.
“Don’t—don’t come closer. I’ll tell her. I’ll tell your sister. I swear it—”
Nyx paused, one knee already on the edge of the bed. For a moment pure hunger warred with something sharper across her face. Fear. The name of the Queen hung in the air between them like a blade.
She did not advance further.
Instead she sank back slightly, still naked, still breathing as though she had run a great distance. Her eyes locked onto Elara’s body with raw, unfiltered need. One of her hands slid down her own stomach. The other braced against the mattress. She spread her knees wider on the bed and began to touch herself openly, without a single word.
Two fingers parted her folds and pushed inside with a wet, open sound that filled the quiet room. She fucked herself in slow, deep strokes at first, then faster, the slick noise of it growing louder with every thrust. Her thumb found her clit and circled it hard. Clear wetness coated her knuckles and began to drip onto the black sheets in small, dark spots. Soft, broken breaths escaped her—half moans, half desperate little sounds she tried and failed to swallow.
Elara turned her face away, eyes squeezing shut, but it did not help. She could still hear it: the wet slide of fingers, the soft slap of skin, the way Nyx’s breathing kept catching and breaking. She could still feel that burning red gaze on her skin. She yanked the sheets higher, trying to bury herself beneath them, knees drawn up, shoulders shaking with fresh sobs.
Where have I fallen?
What is this place?
What are these creatures?
Nyx did not stop. She watched Elara the entire time—watched the tears, the futile attempts to cover herself, the way the girl’s golden hair clung to her wet cheeks. Her own hand moved faster, fingers plunging deeper, the wet sounds turning filthy and unmistakable. Minutes stretched. The only noises in the chamber were Nyx’s quiet, desperate efforts and Elara’s broken crying.
At last Nyx’s body arched hard. A choked, almost angry sound tore from her throat as she finished—thighs trembling, fingers buried to the knuckle, more wetness spilling onto the sheets in a warm pulse. For a few heartbeats she simply stayed there, chest heaving, eyes still fixed on the girl on the bed, her hand still slowly moving through the aftershocks.
Then reality seemed to return all at once.
Nyx stood quickly, almost clumsily. She snatched up her clothes and pulled them on with sharp, hurried motions, not bothering to wipe the slickness from her fingers. She did not look at Elara again. The moment she was covered she crossed to the door, slipped out, and locked it behind her with a decisive click. Footsteps retreated down the corridor at a near run.
Silence crashed back into the chamber.
Elara remained frozen for several seconds, sheets still clenched around her body. Then the full weight of what had just happened settled over her like a second skin.
A raw, jagged sound ripped from her chest. She curled forward until her forehead touched her knees, fingers digging into her own arms.
“This is madness,” she whispered, voice shredded. “I have to get out… I have to escape. They sold me. All of them. I’ll kill them. I’ll kill every last one of them if I have to—”
Her voice broke completely.
“God… please. Please don’t leave me here alone. Help me. I’m begging you… don’t leave me alone in this place.”
The crimson crystals continued to burn with their soft, indifferent light.
No answer came.
