The Goddess Made A Mistake Again
Chapter 547 - Valere Teammates
Everyone looked at the shameless Henry, who with his stoic look, kept standing his ideals (fingers) standing.
Ginny became silent, then her hands slowly clenched and her face blackened as the aura inside her surged like a tsunami wave ready to plunder. "You wretched bastard... Humiliating me like that, I will destroy your who-"
Knock! Knock!
Before the rage could unravel, everyone looked behind them, at the door. One of the servants attending to the event stood at the open door, his hand remaining in a knocking gesture.
"Sorry for intruding, esteemed sirs!" The man gave a brief bow first before getting to business, "You are all called for as the games are about to commence. Please be ready within 5 minutes."
Saying that, he turned to leave.
"Wait"
One of the teammates, a girl of average height with glasses and a long ponytail stopped him. "Is there anyone here who can lead us above?"
"Hm? Isn’t one of your teachers with you? They are generally instructed with the layout and schedule beforehand."
Hearing that, the girl, older than Henry snickered at their situation and looked away. The servant’s brow furrowed as he looked around for an answer.
Arthur stepped forward.
The year had been rough on this True MC. With the late Gekko’s father on his trail and losing a significant factor known as Lazarus, he had reached a block. Because of Gekko’s father’s chase, Arthur remained mostly inside the academy and instead of becoming Lazarus’s pupil, fate opened its door for him to became another’s. One equally as great as Lazarus, if not more in particular to his training.
That wasn’t all. Whenever someone needed help or a critical mission arrived for the brave adventurer, he stepped out. And even when Gekko’s father sent his lackey’s, Arthur defeated and overcame them as stepping stones to build his experience.
While the involvement through the year wouldn’t be overzealous, the change in his body from his tall stature and muscular yet slender build only attended to his achievements and also wooing countless young hearts (To his clueless mind).
Arthur chuckled, "Our Teacher had something im- important, so she had to leave immediately."
"Oh... that’s a problem." The servant frowned quietly. With the start of the Valere, it was hectic everywhere. There were a lot of work and not enough people. But then as if, slightly guided by the grace of the blue haired boy, he gave a restless sigh, "I will see that someone comes to guide you all."
Arthur gave a bright smile, "We appreciate your help."
Being just a civilian, it lightened the mind of the man. He gave a brief smile and closed the door, leaving.
Clap!
"Well," Henry clapped both hands. "It seems we don’t have time, let’s go out there and beat them all, what do you say, huh!"
’Seriously?’ Everyone thought, gazing at Henry.
Ginny had a deadpan look. Again, she raised her hand, about to reprimand this shameless guy but Rizer placed held her shoulder and shook his head.
"Unfortunately, he is right. We do not have time. You can settle this matter later."
"Ginny had a look like as if ’she’s been wronged’. Nonetheless, her expression turned 180° as she gazed at Rizer. "Al- alright... but, I will remember him grabbing my breasts!"
"Ah!... I poked them." Henry corrected her.
Rizer gave a blank look to Henry.
"...He is at fault, but you were also the one who started it." Rizer spoke faster before she could interject, "Settle later, we have the Valere to win. I need my replacement with me... of course, I can also do without."
Hearing his subtle anger, Ginny sighed. She turned around and made a fist towards Henry, "When you step out there, make sure to always keep an eye at your back!"
"We are on the same team."
"..." Ginny froze for a moment, "Regardless! I’ll keep mine on you!"
"I’ll keep my fingers upright for them."
She sniffed at him, keeping her underlying thoughts inaudible. Ginny slowly backed away with Rizer as others either snort, smirk or narrowed their eyes at the two.
Henry saw the pink gyaru walk away, her twin-tails twirling behind. He took a small glance at her back, nodded at the significant size and turned. As Ginny left another approached, it was Arthur.
Besides him was Xavier, lagging behind as if he didn’t want to be amongst them and also could not leave. The tension between them was palpable, but not so much. It seemed as if what happened the last time the two encountered each other didn’t seem to surface.
Without any anger or sharpness, Arthur’s awkward smile debriefed Henry, "Still up to your usual... ways?"
"You know it." Henry nodded, taking in the backside of Ginny again. "If there’s a beautiful woman that can be annoyed or hooked up with... reasonably, I’m there."
Ginny shuddered at his words and gave a ’Humph’ to him.
"The people at the academy missed your banter." Arthur said, severing the the complete opposite meaning.
’Is he making a joke or do people really miss me?’ Henry thought sillily.
He didn’t care much for the Leonidas High. The only ones he had connections with were Winona, Halos, Alex, Jennifer (Who just left because of his nonsense), Harold Graydol (His Instructor) and Arthur with his motley group (Not much friendly terms). Everyone else either had neutral or negative thoughts about him.
As he thought of those people, Henry stumped for a moment.
’If anything happened to Leonidas High, I believed my expression would be close to curiosity or something else. Yet, looking back... I have quite a few strings tugging me to the academy.’
Henry broke from his thoughts as Arthur started talking and somehow went to introducing the others to him.
"The first-year participants are I and Xavier."
"...just a substitute." Xavier muttered quietly as he crossed his arms.
"Alex didn’t make it? Not even Halos, Huh." Henry believed at least one of the two would have made the spot, but it seems plot takes the... spot?
"Yes... They were close." Arthur said, thinking of a fresh memory. Fighting for a place of the Valere was hard. The most difficult fight he had was with Halois Gradois. The fast and dangerous attacks from that sneaky fellow was not only unpredictable but also quite irritable.
Xavier also had a similar recollection. He, believed himself to be one of the greatest prodigies when it came to swordsmanship. And like him, there was one more, Alex Atreides. Who, ironically had been a remarkable opponent.
The battle against Alex... not only helped curb his arrogance but also brought him knowledge which would strengthen his path towards becoming a better swordsman. He was sure the fight had the same effect with Alex too.
The toughest fight may had been with Arthur, but it was with Alex that he resonated most with. That boy, young, just as him, showed him his flaws and battled on the same eye level. Xavier narrowly defeated the boy before finally succumbing to Arthur and couldn’t help but grumble.
’If it had been Alex... maybe, I would not have felt so vexed.’
"The Second-Years are numerically the 1st and 2nd ranking, Eliot Spencer and Elias Spencer." Arthur pointed to two boys of the same height and built, except one had black hair and the other green, twins.
The Twins being beckoned gave a curt nod to Henry.
"The Third-Year participant is Nylah Pole. You being her replacement." The girl from earlier looked at Henry with her hard-bookish personality and behind her rectangular black glasses, her eyes sharpened, believing her luck couldn’t dwindle any further down.
"And the Fourth-Years-" He stopped with his smile, "...You already know them."
