So there was actually a slight chance that the dragon was a rank 9 being. But no one considered the possibility because it is common sense that no one can reach rank 9, especially not a dragon that is supposed to be extinct.

Because of this, no one believed that they had anything to fear. Even the rank 6 divine beings were eager for the hunt.

The fact that a lot of people joined the hunt only made them anxious about getting to the dragon first. No one was considering that the dragon could escape from them. In fact, many people were already trying to make sure that the dragon wouldn’t escape.

The trackers of the Seer Pathway got to work trying to locate the dragon. Once Star Divination joined, she was able to find the dragon’s location. So many people working together could surround the dragon to prevent it from escaping.

While this was going on, somewhere in the South Domain of the Blessed Heaven World, a talented boy had just performed the awakening ceremony in one of the sword mountains of the Sword Way Sect.

The young man’s eyes were full of youthful spirit and anticipation as he awakened. He was full of anticipation because his talent had been tested before he was allowed to awaken. The test showed that he had a potential of above 40 units.

A potential of 40 units is the minimum talent required to join the Sword Way Sect. With this talent, reaching rank 4 is nearly certain.

If he could have a little more and reach 50 units of potential, he would awaken an innate Metac. So how could he not be full of anticipation for the outcome of the awakening?

But after awakening, he realized that he had underestimated his capabilities. This was because he had awakened something that was beyond even his wildest dreams.

As it turned out, his talent was above 90 units, and he had an affinity for the Time Pathway. So he awakened the Future Self Divine Metac..

In every situation where a mortal awakens an Innate Metac, there would be a packet of information within the Metac that will tell the host the function and ability of the Metac. This was also the case for the Future Self Metac. But there was an extra benefit for this young man.

Because Time Traveler wasn’t the one who bore the entropy charge of sending the Future Self Metac into the past, Time Traveler was able to indulge himself by stuffing the Divine Metac full of memories and crucial information needed to ensure the survival of his future body.

So this young man got to receive a lot of information that many divine beings would kill for. There was just a slight price to pay for this.

Apparently, the memories in the Future Self Metac also contained the Will of a fallen Dao Lord. This Will also infected the mind of the young man and took over his free will. So even before he was officially possessed and used to reincarnate, he already believed himself to be the reincarnation of that fallen Dao Lord.

This change in identity was accompanied by a change in demeanor and outlook on life. The young man stopped being joyful and excited because of what he had awakened. Instead, he became quiet and solemn.

The youthful spirit in the eyes of the young man also died. It was quickly replaced with aged wisdom and shrewdness.

After Time Traveler’s Will took over the mind of the young man, he thought to himself, ’It seems my plan worked. That Ragnarok was truly a godsend. Now, what I need to do is increase my strength very quickly.’

When he thought of his unwilling helper, he couldn’t help but click his tongue in wonder and think, ’How did he get his hands on the Rewind Metac, though? I know I lost my Rewind Metac as soon as it was awakened in someone. Was he that person, or was he someone else who managed to steal the Rewind Metac from the person who awakened it?’

These questions made him shake his head inwardly as he thought, ’Both possibilities are unlikely. If he were the original person who awakened the Rewind Metac, there should be no way he could have gained independence. He should have become possessed by me after turning the Rewind Metac into his Core Metac.’

’The possibility that he snatched the Rewind Metac is more unlikely. Even as a rank 9 being, he shouldn’t have the power to steal the Rewind Metac from someone who can reverse time. Not unless the original owner of the Rewind Metac reached the limit of entropy and died of old age when they tried to reverse time one more time.’

After considering these questions for a while, he chuckled and thought, ’Anyway, I should have a lot of time before he reverses time again. I should have 9 years left of time. In that time, I must become a divine being. Then I will be able to increase my lifespan and use my Life Fire to purge myself of entropy.’

’I should find a way to reach out to Money Body. He will help me in exchange for information. With his help, I should be able to reach rank 6 quickly.’

’Once I am in the right condition to reverse time, I can take back my Rewind Metac. His name is Ragnarok, right? And I know what he looks like, so I should be able to find him.’

He is confident in the success of his plan because the current wielder of the Rewind Metac can’t reverse time any time soon. This is a judgment he made based on the fact that even he, a Dao Lord of the Time Pathway, can’t reverse time anyhow he wants.

From his experience, each time he reverses time, he must take some time and spend a lot of lifespan to purge the burden of entropy. The stronger he gets, the more time and lifespan he has to spend on preparing himself for the next time reversal.
