THE GOD EATER

Chapter 827: Can’t Be Rank 9.

While Loki was planning how to inflict pain on Money Body while also maximizing his chances of getting some benefits from Money Body’s, such as his Supreme Metac, his Divine Spark had blazed to life within him. After it blazed to life, it set his lifespan aflame in a bid to upgrade his weak existence.

Right now, he is a mortal with most of his stats below 1 unit, with only his Mind and Soul stats at 1.5 units, and he doesn’t have an Insight Stat. This kind of vessel is unworthy for him, so his Divine Spark decided to change his vessel for something better.

This upgrade will need 10 million years of lifespan, though. This is an amount he doesn’t have. Even if he sold his kidneys, heart, and lungs, he still wouldn’t be able to afford to pay for this upgrade.

Fortunately, he still had Fenrir. Even though he didn’t bring Fenrir with him from the future, he still awakened Fenrir in the past, so he still had the Devouring Ability.

With the Devouring Ability, he can gain the lifespan he needs from the generous donation of the people of the world. He decided to do so now.

He had done something like this in the previous timeline. But things were a little bit different this time because instead of trying not to waste time, he took wasting time to the next level by slowing down his eating more.

Halfway through eating the city for the last time, he had decided not to waste time by slowly eating the people of the city. But this time, he allowed the inhabitants of the city to make noise and call for help as much as they wanted.

He didn’t wrap things up until he sensed mounting danger through the Danger Sense. It was then that he cleaned up the city.

Another thing he did differently was that he took everything and everyone at the same time. He didn’t spare anyone as he did last time. Even Slav was eaten, and his Danger Sense Metac was taken.

He also didn’t spare the infrastructure of the city. He directly leveled everything. The only place he didn’t touch was the sect grounds.

As soon as his body was completely reformed and upgraded by the Divine Spark, he entered the second dimension. This time, he went to the second heaven. As he ascended into the sky, he felt danger hot on his heels.

If his feeding had been fast or faster than that of the previous timeline, his actions would have been long gone before they were noticed. Only the sect would be able to easily notice what he had done.

But he had been slow, so a lot of people in the Central Domain, including the Four Directions Sect, noticed him and his actions. The sect sent someone to apprehend him and make him pay for his crime. But many more people decided to join the hunt.

When divine beings finally noticed the disappearance of a city, including everyone within the city, many of them were interested to find out what had happened. Some of these people were curious enough to use the divine constellation to investigate the demise of so many people.

For those who used the divine constellation, they saw a giant golden-scaled beast. This beast could only be called a giant because it was over 4 meters tall. He was even taller than the room in which he appeared.

The beast was also humanoid, not that anyone was fooled into thinking he was a human. After all, it had a large, scaled tail similar to that of a crocodile, golden horns on its head, and golden hexagonal eyes. In fact, most of the divine beings who saw him thought he was a dragon.

Since he was a dragon, it meant that his heart could be used to raise the conversion rate of their Life Fire. So everyone who saw him was interested in killing him and securing his heart.

Very soon, word of the presence of a dragon in the Blessed Heaven World was passed around the divine beings. Many divine beings who heard this news began forming hunting parties. Of all of them, the people from the Martial Body Sect and the Thorn House of Commerce were the most interested in killing the dragon.

The warriors of the Martial Body Sect wanted to kill the dragon for his heart and also for the feat of defeating a dragon, which would increase their reputation. So they had two reasons to kill the dragon.

The money cultivators of the Thorn House of Commerce didn’t need the reputation of killing a dragon, but they still wanted to kill the dragon for his heart and for retribution for the destruction of one of their cities. So they, too, had two reasons to kill the dragon.

They couldn’t tell exactly what cultivation the dragon had from the record in the divine constellation, but they could easily determine that the dragon was at least a rank 6 divine being because it was aware of the extra dimensions and could enter them.

As for whether the dragon would be stronger, no one was sure. They were willing to accept that the dragon could be at rank 7, but they all thought it was unlikely that the dragon would be at rank 8.

This was because they believed that the dragon was a scout of some large world foolish enough to consider invading the Blessed Heaven World.

It is common sense that the dragon would be at rank 6. But even if it turned out that they were wrong about this estimate, they couldn’t be wrong to say that the dragon couldn’t be at rank 9 because the Blessed Heaven World didn’t sound the alarm.

The Blessed Heaven World would surely sound an alarm to every divine being and every living being in the world if a rank 9 invader came visiting. Of course, if the rank 9 being was a native of this world, the Blessed Heaven World wouldn’t take them as an enemy so quickly.
