THE GOD EATER

Money Body was shouting with righteous anger befitting one who had just been betrayed. But Money Armor shouted back, "You’re the one who betrayed me. I was there protecting your property when I was attacked, but instead of coming to help me, you left me to die."

Money Body refused to argue with him. He said, "So be it. You could have died a hero, but you have chosen to die a traitor."

While he was speaking, he snuffed out Money Armor’s Life Fire. So the channel that just opened up was shut down.

Money Armor had died, but Money Body was still angry with him. He kept complaining, saying, "What a blind fool. He couldn’t see the big picture. He was only concerned with the short-term benefits."

"He was only thinking about himself. He knew that what he was doing could jeopardize everything we built and cause untold cost in resources and manpower, but he did it anyway. How can anyone be so selfish?"

The other five listeners also spoke up to denounce Money Armor. They had mixed feelings about everything that had happened and were sure that they would have done the same thing if they were in Money Armor’s place, but they still complained bitterly about Money Armor’s supposed selfishness.

Even though Money Body looked angry, he was only pretending to be angry. Inwardly, he was happy with the way things had turned out.

He smiled inwardly when he saw how the rest of the alliance were supporting him. Then he thought, ’It is good that they voted to kill him like that. That way, all of us killed him, not just me.’

’It is even better that he betrayed the alliance like that. Thanks to his bitterness, he became a traitor, not a martyr. Now, no matter what these fools think about what happened, they have to condemn him for putting all of us in danger.’

As he was praising himself, he looked towards the Money Armor Metac. Since the Life Fire had gone out, the Divine Position had separated, so only the dim Divine Metac remained.

The sight of the empty Divine Metac made him think to himself, ’I can find a replacement for this. I’m sure that there are many mortals who would want to become the new Money Armor.’

’I can even take it for myself as my fourth Divine Position. Anyway, Money Armor won’t be missed.’

It had only been two seconds since Money Armor died, but Money Body was already planning what to do with the Divine Metac. However, he had to stop his scheming when he noticed something wrong about the Divine Metac.

He noticed that the Divine Metac had become black. This shouldn’t be the case because the Money Armor Metac should be gold in color.

He was curious to know what was going on, so he probed the Divine Metac with his Insight Stat. What he discovered was that the Divine Metac was inactive.

To his senses, the Money Armor Metac looked dead. It was as if he was looking at a piece of dead rock on the side of the road, not some object of great power.

What he sensed made him realize that something had gone terribly wrong. At the very least, he can forget about finding a replacement for the Divine Metac or even using it himself.

In the worst-case scenario, the Divine Metac might become unable to support his Cave Heaven. So the portion of his Cave Heaven that Money Armor used to support will break away, which will reduce the size of his Cave Heaven and weaken him.

So his heart sank as he thought, ’What kind of being did Money Armor fight?’

As he asked himself this question, the worst-case scenario began to happen. The 97 million square kilometers that Money Armor brought to the alliance when he was forced to surrender began to break away.

This shouldn’t be happening at all. The death of a member of an alliance should only stop the host of the alliance from being able to use the Divine Metac of the dead member. The increase in the size of the Cave Heaven should remain as long as the Divine Metac remains in the Cave Heaven.

The Money Armor Divine Metac is still in the Cave Heaven. Yet, for some reason, it can’t continue to support the size of Cave Heaven.

When Money Body felt his Cave Heaven breaking, he felt a stabbing pain in his heart. But he quickly consoled himself, saying, "It is only 97 million square kilometers. It is only 3.412%. It is less than 5%, so it is nearly insignificant.’

As someone who needed all of the power and resources he could get for his upcoming plan, this 3.412% loss in the size of his Cave Heaven is not as insignificant as he made it out to be. But he refused to admit that the loss of Money Armor was impactful, and he refused to consider that maybe he should have gone to save Money Armor.

On the other side, Loki was still rushing to the Blessed Heaven World. He had Money Armor’s head in his hand when the head suddenly collapsed and turned into a golden flame.

His eyes widened when this happened. But before he could take advantage of the opportunity, the golden flame also collapsed and disappeared.

This made him shrug and say, "I’m busy anyway. I don’t have time for it."

This change didn’t affect his plan in any way. He was still in a hurry to reach the Blessed Heaven World and find Slav.

Money Armor’s death had only reduced the amount of time he could spend beating a member of the Thorn House of Commerce and reduced the amount of lifespan that he could make Money Body lose.

These two things meant that he couldn’t enjoy hurting Money Body and the Thorn House of Commerce for much longer. But since this was only temporary, he was willing to suffer the loss.
