THE GOD EATER

As for his fear of death, that is something he will have to work on for now. In fact, he is not sure if his fear of death is a bad thing. After all, it compels him to think things through and not be reckless.

When he thought about the fear of death like this, he asked himself, ’If I am not afraid of death, what else should I be afraid of?’

The answer to this question came to him immediately. It took him no time to decide that being a slave with no hope of freedom was worse than or on par with death.

At the end of his thinking, he came to this conclusion, ’If I keep getting stronger, the chances of dying and the chances of being enslaved will reduce. And as long as I can keep fighting, I will never be truly enslaved. So I should focus on getting stronger and fighting for my freedom.’

After coming to this conclusion, he waited for Muni to wake up. While he was waiting, he activated the Nanite Metac to change his appearance. So he stopped looking like a dragon.

As soon as Muni woke up, he saw a divine being in the awakening room. This divine being was someone he had never seen before.

But the fact that he had never seen this divine being didn’t matter for anything. What mattered the most was what this divine being came here for and whether they would kill him or not.

So as soon as he saw the golden flame burning on their heads and recognized them for who they were, he bowed his head. He made sure to bow his head very low so as not to offend the divine being by being insincere in expressing his respect.

Then he said, "What can I do for you, your lordship?"

But he didn’t get a reply. Instead, he was grabbed by the neck and carried away into the air.

This frightened him to the extent that his soul nearly flew out of his body. He thought he was going to die, so he screamed in panic.

Just as his mouth opened to scream, he was slapped in the face. The slap stunned him into silence.

As his ears began to ring, he heard a stern voice that said, "Don’t make a sound if you don’t want to die."

Muni wanted to nod to indicate that he heard the instruction, understood it, and was very willing to abide by it. But the hand gripping his neck prevented him from nodding. So he could only remain silent while lamenting his faith.

Loki could sense Muni’s thoughts through the Insight Stat. Since Muni didn’t have a Mind Palace, his thoughts were open for perusal by any divine being. This was how he knew Muni was about to scream, so he was able to shut Muni up before the rank 3 cultivator could scream.

He had heard Muni’s thoughts many times over many timelines since he became a divine being. At first, the experience was novel, and he enjoyed it. But now, he didn’t care much about the thoughts of some mortal.

In fact, Muni’s thought felt like incessant noise to him. The unending chatter made him tempted to kill Muni to silence his thoughts. If not for the fact that he needed Muni for something, he might have ended Muni’s life.

Actually, he had thought about not registering as a member of the Four Directions Sect. This was to avoid the notice of the sect and stay out of the field of view of a Dao Lord for as long as possible.

Because of the force organ, it appeared that he didn’t need the sect to help him advance. So he thought that he should forgo joining the sect. But he remembered that he might need 8 Divine Positions to advance to rank 9.

Since he would need to be a member of the Four Directions Sect before he could become a divine being with any of their five pathways, he decided to join the sect. But when Muni began to cry in his mind, Loki began to consider whether joining the sect was worth it at all.

At the end of the day, he didn’t kill Muni. After Muni helped him register, he left the mentally sobbing rank 3 cultivator in the sect grounds and entered the third dimension.

From the third dimension, he left the Blessed Heaven World. He left to visit all of the small worlds that he knew. His goal for this trip is to gain the lifespan that he needs to advance to rank 8.

So once he gets to the small worlds, he plans to eat all of the living beings in them after assimilating them. And if the living beings don’t give him enough lifespan, he plans to make up for it by eating the hearts of the small worlds.

This trip took over a month to complete. In that time, he visited the small world that he learned from Lady Red, the small world with Hammock in it, the small world with the Viper World King, the four small worlds that he learned through the divine constellation, and the five small worlds that he had bought in the auction.

The only small worlds that he didn’t visit were the four small worlds that the Thorn House of Commerce would give him in their deal with him. He didn’t go there to take it because he didn’t need to take it yet, and because he wanted to give the Thorn House of Commerce a surprise.

After his month-long trip to the twelve small worlds, he decided to go to the four small worlds. On his way there, he began eating the living things in his Cave Heaven to gain a lot of lifespan.

He activated the Devouring Ability and let the black force field roam through his Cave Heaven, eating living things. To the inhabitants of his Cave Heaven, it looked like a black ocean fell from the sun and swept through the world.
