In fact, the circumference of the second layer was to be twice that of the first layer. So one Divine Position was never going to be enough to create it. Two Divine Positions had to be sacrificed to create the second layer of force.

That made a total of four Divine Positions used up for the core, the first layer of force, and the second layer of force. Since he didn’t have any more Divine Positions, no more layers of force could be created in the new organ.

Loki still couldn’t tell if this sacrifice would be of any use because he hadn’t felt any changes. He was just intrigued by what was going on within him.

His uncertainty continued until Fenrir finished digesting the heart of the large world. Unlike the previous timelines, the product of the digestion of the heart of Oceania went straight into the new organ.

This time, the heart of Oceania was converted into something called force units. He had eaten his Cave Heaven and everything within it before he reversed time. Unfortunately, that had only added to his lifespan in the previous timeline.

He couldn’t bring back the lifespan from the previous timeline to this timeline, so only the heart of Oceania could serve as a source of force units for him.

The heart of Oceania produced 171,000 force units a total of 171,000 force units. Then these force units filled in the space between the force layers.

The space between the core and the first force layer needed 1,000 force units to fill in the gap. As the gap was filled with force, the space crystallized into something resembling the crystal shield.

He thought that it resembled the crystal shield because it was made of many layers of vibrating strings. As someone who had seen those vibrating strings up close and had suffered under their ministerations, he could identify them at a glance.

There were a thousand vibrating strings in the first layer. Each one of them produced some sort of power, but they also needed energy to run. So they were more like an engine for converting energy into power.

While he was wondering what kind of power the vibrating strings were producing, the second layer was also filled with force units. 9,000 force units were used to fill in the area between the first force layer and the second force layer. This made a total of 10,000 force units that had been used so far.

Since he was observing the vibrating strings closely, he noticed it when they became stronger. The strings doubled in thickness, so even though they were still vibrating at the same frequency, they were producing twice the amount of power.

This change had happened when the second layer of force was filled with force units. But it wasn’t the only change that Loki noticed.

The second thing that he noticed was that even though he had created a Cave Heaven and was a divine being, he didn’t have a Life Fire. This reminded him of a group of powerful beings who could contend with divine beings but didn’t have any obvious Life Fires.

The third thing that he noticed was that the new organ was consuming his lifespan to run. He was taken aback when he noticed this.

At first, the rate of consumption of his lifespan had been too low for him to notice. But after the second layer of force was filled in, the consumption of lifespan jumped, which made it noticeable.

After recollecting his experience, he realized that the initial consumption rate was 1 year of lifespan for every year that he lived. So he was consuming one more second of lifespan for every second that the thousand strings vibrate.

That rate of consumption had doubled his normal consumption of lifespan. After all, he had to consume 2 years of lifespan for every year that he lived, instead of the normal one.

The extra year of consumption hadn’t been noticeable in the short term. But when the consumption rate quadrupled, and he now had to spend an extra four years of lifespan every year that he lived, he had to notice it, no matter how fascinated he was by the force layers.

Of course, he wasn’t happy that he now had to spend five years of his lifespan for every year that he lived. But when he also noticed that he had become stronger, he decided to hold off before casting judgment on the usefulness of the force layers.

Meanwhile, the digestion of food was still going on. He had only used 10,000 force units, so there were still 161,000 force units left to use.

Unfortunately, there was no third layer to fill up with force units. So the force units would have to go to waste. Or so he thought.

As it turned out, the force units didn’t go to waste because Fenrir sent them out like usual and converted the force units into lifespan for him to use. The force units were converted into lifespan at a rate of 100 to 1. So he gained 16,100,000 years of lifespan from it.

Normally, if he did nothing, these 16,100,000 years of lifespan would last him 16,100,000 years. But thanks to the new organ, he could only live up to 3,220,000 years with it. This made him skeptical of the usefulness of the new organ.

In order to determine if the loss of lifespan was worth it or not, he used the Power Identification Ability to check his attributes.
