THE GOD EATER

In its confusion, the will of Oceania said, "What do you mean?"

Money Body replied, saying, "I can save you from the fate of death and enslavement."

The will of Oceania didn’t believe him at all. After all, the words of an evil invader should be expected to be full of deceit and trickery.

The will of Oceania still remembered how the invaders had pretended that this shiny person was the strongest one, while the actual strongest followed behind the three other invaders like a servant.

It was just recently that it was fooled, so it wasn’t going to fall for this trick. So it sneered and said, "If you want to save me, destroy the usurper."

Money Body nodded as he said, "I will destroy the usurper, and I will do more to set you free. But I need something from you first."

When the will of Oceania heard the last sentence, it laughed bitterly as it said, "So this is just an attempt to cheat me. What I don’t understand is why you’re doing this at all. You’re stronger than I, and my fate is in your hands. You don’t need to play tricks like this to force me to do something for you."

This made Money Body chuckle and say, "It seems you don’t trust me. That’s understandable."

"You’re right to say that there is no need for me to try to trick you into getting something from you. But I am not trying to trick you. I am very sincere with you."

Then he paused to sigh. After sighing, he said, "You might not know this, but I am a slave. I was forced to come to this world to invade and enslave you."

"But I don’t want a part of it anymore. I want to be free. I want to break my shackles, and you can help me with it. This is why I have come to offer you a deal."

"I know that you don’t trust me, but when you hear my offer and see what you have to gain from helping me, I’m sure that you will be convinced. Besides, you have nothing left to lose. I can just kill you with a wave of my hand if you refuse to help me."

That last sentence was the most convincing thing that Money Body had said so far. It was a fact that the will of Oceania had nothing left to use to preserve its life. So even if it didn’t believe Money Body, it was willing to listen to his so-called offer.

The two of them spoke for a while. During their conversation, the outpost core finally reached the milestone of 30% control of Oceania.

So the sect sent a message to Loki that said, "Congratulations. You have completed the outpost mission of Oceania. You have been rewarded with 5,760 divine merit points for your efforts."

"You are to remain behind to protect the outpost core until reinforcement arrives to relieve you. You will be paid for your services during this process. Every enemy you kill will earn you divine merit points, and you will be paid a daily salary until the reinforcement arrives."

"Take note that you have no choice in this matter. You have to stay and guard the outpost core. If the outpost core is destroyed, you will be penalized heavily."

"The next stage is to construct a branch of the sect in this world. Are you interested in taking up this mission?"

Loki couldn’t be bothered to read the rest of the message after reading the first part. When he saw that he had no choice but to guard the outpost core, he sneered in disdain.

As he sneered, he said, "We will see about that."

Then he wasted no time in taking out his sect token and navigating to the part to request a promotion. When he reached the section, he immediately paid the price of 1,000 divine merit points to advance.

As soon as he paid the divine merit points, the Supreme Metac at the center of the constellation went into action. The Supreme Metac sent some cryptic instructions to the four Divine Positions in his Life Fire.

The hidden and obscure instructions seemed to unlock something within his Life Fire. His Life Fire became bigger and burned more fiercely. This signified that he had become stronger.

Loki felt himself become stronger, but even though the feeling was great, he was kind of disappointed by how it was happening.

His voice was full of disbelief as he said, "Is that it? I expected something more tangible and special."

Then he snorted and thought to himself, ’In fact, I didn’t break through at all. Nothing has changed about me. My Divine Metacs and Divine Positions are still the same. It is simply the Supreme Metac making me stronger.’

’This is even worse than my time as a mortal when the Supreme Metac would actively raise my Dao Status. This time, the Supreme Metac is only passively increasing the power of my Life Fire. So it can take back its enhancement at any moment.’

This made his thoughts full of worry as he thought, ’Can Fenrir eat this? Can it take back this kind of enhancement into the past?’

The more he thought about the way he had advanced, the more worried he became that all of his efforts to earn divine merit points would go to waste. The fact that Fenrir didn’t seem interested in his four Divine Positions only reinforced this suspicion.

At the end of the day, he could only sigh and think, ’I can only try and see if it will work. Not that I have much of a choice in the matter.’

Then his eyes focused on the only thing that Fenrir was interested in eating. This was the black crystal with multicolored veins spreading from it to the world around it like roots.

By now, the outpost core looked like a tumor on the world, draining energy and vitality from the world. But he wasn’t disgusted by this. He still wanted to eat it.
