THE GOD EATER

Chapter 716: Taken Seriously.

The plan was to make the inhabitants of the world wear the invaders down. But that wasn’t going to work if the invaders continued to stay out of the ocean. So the will of the world got to work fixing that problem.

The will of the world made large dark clouds appear in the sky. The dark clouds were so large that they covered the entire world. This caused the world to become shrouded in darkness.

The large dark clouds blocked out the light of the sun. Then they began unloading the large amount of moisture within them.

As rain fell over Oceania, the water level began to rise. The island they were standing on was slowly being submerged in water.

Even if they left the island and flew high into the sky, the will of the world was so hell-bent on bringing them into the ocean that it would make the rain continue to fall until the water level rose to reach the sky.

This endeavor to bring the invaders face-to-face with the inhabitants of this world required a massive investment in energy, but the will of the world was willing to make the investment. Plus, the energy needed to achieve this wasn’t lifespan.

Most importantly, by forcing the invaders into the water, the invaders will have to fight on a battlefield that was favorable to dragons. Since the dragons could fight better in the water, if the dragons had to fight the invaders, they would have a considerable advantage.

So the will of the world believed that making lots and lots of rain fall was a better investment than having the dragon king confront one of the invaders while the other three invaders lay in wait for an ambush.

When rain began to fall, Loki looked around with a look of bewilderment on his face and said to himself, ’Where are the tsunamis targeting us? Is it that the dragon king isn’t angry enough, or did the dragon king give up on the tsunamis because it knows that they can’t defeat us?’

He was bewildered because at this point in time in the previous timelines, the dragon king and the other dragons had attacked them with tsunamis. Money Body had to turn the waves of water into walls of gold in order to prevent them from destroying the island.

But this time around, there were no tsunamis. There was only a slow and boring rain falling on them. This made him question the determination of the dragon king to get rid of them.

As the rain fell, the four invaders began to feel the pressure. Water slowly encroached on the territory of dry land and brought the invaders closer within reach of the inhabitants of the world, who had been riled up by the will of the world to tear them apart.

At first, the water only reached their feet. But it didn’t take much time for the water to reach their ankles.

Because the storm was pouring water down faster and faster, it took even less time for the water to rise to the level of their knees. Then the water level reached their waist.

By the time the water reached their waist, the aquatic inhabitants of the world had reached them. They ranged from fish to crabs and from shrimps to molluscs.

As the water level rose, more and more aquatic creatures were able to reach them. The size of these aquatic creatures also became bigger as the storm grew and the water rose. So the fish and crab army gave way for an army of large aquatic snakes, giant eels, and fearsome crocodiles.

However, this was just the start of the fight. There were still sharks and whales out there in the ocean waiting for the water level to rise enough for them to reach the invaders.

In order to defend themselves, the invaders deployed troops. Nether Flame deployed skeletons while Loki deployed ant drones.

Nether Flame summoned about 1,000,000 rank 5 skeletons and 10 rank 6 skeletons. On the other side, Loki deployed over 700 rank 6 ant drones.

During his first attack on Oceania, he had first produced 100 rank 6 ant drones. It was later that he summoned another batch of 200 rank 6 ant drones.

But this time, he had fewer qualms about exposing his strength, so he produced 700 rank 6 ants right from the start. This was also because he had more rank 6 ant drones ready to be deployed than last time. After all, he spent 11 years preparing for the mission compared to the three years he spent preparing for the previous ones.

These 700 rank 6 ant drones are close to the limit of what he could summon. He can actually summon 200 more as he is in possession of a total of 931 ant drones. But he chose to summon 700 rank 6 ant drones for now so that he could have some left in reserve to deal with unexpected circumstances.

As for Blood Blade, she didn’t summon any creature or artifact to fight for her. But she wasn’t the odd one out here. Loki was deemed the odd one out.

Money Body also didn’t summon any creature to fight for him. So Blood Blade’s inability to bring out anything to fight for her wasn’t anything surprising. What was surprising was that Loki was in possession of 700 rank 6 ant drones.

His ant drones are supposed to be weaker than normal divine beings. So it is possible that each of them could be destroyed with a single punch.

But even if a divine being managed to destroy each one with a single activation of their rank 6 Divine Metac, it would still cost them 6 years of their lifespan to destroy a single ant drone. So, in order to destroy all 700 rank 6 drones, a divine being might need to spend up to 4,200 years of their lifespan.

With this kind of expenditure at stake, the 700 rank 6 ant drones had to be taken seriously. After all, they would wear an enemy down and make them die by running out of lifespan.
