Chapter 520: Power Over Lifespan.

Rather than eat the world for some lifespan and law fragments, he believes that it is a better idea to assimilate the world and use it to increase the size of his Cave Heaven. This is mainly because having more lifespan right now won’t increase his power in any way, while a larger Cave Heaven would lead to an immediate increase.

When he reached the heavenly city, he lay low for a couple of months. To be exact, he stayed there for three months.

In those three months, he did three things. The first thing he did was to earn money to pay off his debts.

At this point, energy stones are useless to him, but he still needs to earn them to pay the sect for all the lives that he took and the properties he destroyed in the process of becoming the new Gold Body.

The process of earning all of this money was gambling on the betting platform, so it was easy for him to do. It just took time and paying careful attention to the bets.

He could have easily paid off the money without wasting any time by selling the rank 5 guardians in his Cave Heaven. But he decided not to do something so wasteful, no matter how easy it would make his life.

The second thing he did was to buy lots of Metacs to eat them. He bought Branch Metacs of every kind to devour them for the law fragment that they contained.

This was an idea he got when Hammock told him that Branch Metacs contained law fragments. This idea was further reinforced when Hammock said that Branch Metacs were made with spirit creatures, which are creatures of pure law fragments.

As it turned out, this idea was very good. He was able to earn a lot of law fragments by buying every law fragment in the market.

Unfortunately, the benefits from eating Branch Metacs dwindled after the first day. This was because there were no more Branch Metacs in the market to buy.

Branch Metacs could still come from all around the world, but they would take time to come. And since they are ultimately limited in quantity, the price of the Branch Metacs would only continue to increase until they run out completely.

After one week of his extravagant buying of Branch Metacs, the market dried up. The scarcity of Branch Metacs was all because of him, so he couldn’t really blame anyone. But he was still frustrated by this.

The use of Branch Metac to gain law fragments is not an efficient use of their time because the efficiency of their law fragments is not high at all.

A Life Fire created from a 90-unit Energy Well will have an efficiency of 8.26%. That is usually the highest level of efficiency among divine beings. But this kind of efficiency will only provide 1.23 law fragments from one rank 5 Branch Metac that contains 15 law fragments.

So even if they clear out the entire market of Branch Metacs, they will only gain a pittance for their effort. This is on top of the fact that it is cheaper to acquire spirit creatures directly than to buy Branch Metacs.

After all, Branch Metacs are created from spirit creatures and spirit objects. So the spirit creatures will be cheaper to acquire and more efficient to use.

There is also the fact that the market doesn’t contain an unlimited amount of Branch Metacs, while the second heaven has an unlimited amount of spirit creatures. So they can gain more spirit creatures more quickly and more cheaply than they can gain Branch Metacs.

All of these reasons make it clear why divine beings have made their decisions. Even he, with a lot of money on his hands to spend, has an efficiency of devouring of 100%, finds the use of Branch Metacs to earn law fragments to be too slow.

At the end of the day, he decided that it was a must for him to go to the second heaven, where he would be able to let loose. In the meantime, he continued to buy Branch Metacs while listening to the cries of complaint of the mortals about the lack of Branch Metacs.

When he heard their complaints, he chuckled and said to himself, ’I could stop buying Branch Metacs and start eating you lot to gain my law fragments. I’m sure that there are a lot of law fragments in your bodies.’
