Chapter 409: Manifestation Of Gluttony.

With just a single thought, he was able to deactivate the Vengeful Bones Metac. This also forced the energy chamber that had fused with the Vengeful Bones Metac to shut down, too. His body didn’t shrink, but he became noticeably weaker.

So he had to cut off 20% of his energy, 20% of the boost from his energy well, and 50% of his passive strength from the boost of the Vengeful Bones Metac to his body, all in order to remove the passive effect of the Vengeful Bones Metac. But this still made him happy.

He smiled as he said, ’To think I can now shut down one of my energy chambers. How crazy is this?’

’Fortunately, I can activate it again, or this would be too much of a loss. Since I can deactivate it and activate it any time I want, I should be able to get past the divine beings. So it seems the option to hunt at the Heavenly Battlefield can be brought back to the table.’

He was genuinely happy about this development, but Fenrir wasn’t because Fenrir had been looking forward to attacking a city and eating a bunch of people.

Fenrir expressed its displeasure by shaking Loki’s Power Core. This caused his stomach to growl as if he were hungry.

This made him pat his stomach and laugh as he said, ’Don’t worry about food because there will always be something to eat at the Heavenly Battlefield. You only need to wait three months.’

But Fenrir was not convinced. It wanted to eat something here and now.

So he said with exasperation, ’Fine. Suit yourself.’

As he said this, he activated his Life Ability and made it manifest outside of his body as a spiritually connected, but separate body. Because of this activation, his second skin became riled up and grew a tumor on its surface.

The tumor grew on his chest and started out as a small ball the size of an egg. In fact, it was completely white, so it looked like a real egg. Then it grew into a bigger tumor the size of his head.

After a few seconds, the tumor detached from him and fell from his chest to the ground. Once it gained its freedom, it shifted and morphed into a white hairy dog with a black snake for a tail.

The white hairy dog was actually a puppy. It sat on its haunches and looked at him with pitiful puppy eyes.

Then it opened its mouth wide and cried out, begging for food. It didn’t speak, but Loki heard its intent, saying, “Feed me.”

But he wasn’t moved. He said to it through their mental connection, ’Didn’t you claim that I was limiting your potential? Now that you can move around, why don’t you show me what exactly I am limiting?’

Seeing that Loki was intent on being a wicked tyrant, the puppy stopped being pitiful and bared its black teeth at him in displeasure. Then it stood up and walked away from him.

Loki saw him walk over to Amelia’s corpse and take a bite out of it. But Amelia’s body was refined tungsten and was too strong for his teeth, so Fenrir could only leave shallow scratches all over her skin.

Loki snorted in disdain, but he didn’t say anything. However, he didn’t need to say anything for Fenrir to know that he was mocking it.

So Fenrir huffed and puffed in anger for a while. Then it made use of Loki’s memories to find a solution to its current problem.

After thinking for a while, it came up with a solution. The solution it came up with made it glance at Loki with a cocky gaze full of pride.

Loki already knew what solution it had come up with, and he wasn’t impressed by it, so he just rolled his eyes at Fenrir’s antics. But Fenrir wasn’t discouraged. It walked over to the wall of the cave, opened its mouth wide, and bit into the wall.

Fenrir’s mouth had opened far beyond what the small head of a puppy should allow. Its jaw opened down to its neck to reveal a mouth of black teeth that were rotating around its mouth like the blades in a grinding machine.

All of this firepower in its mouth was directed at the wall of soil. This time, there was no resistance. The wall was loose, so it easily came apart and fell into Fenrir’s mouth.

As Loki watched, he saw Fenrir swallow chunks of sand as if it were a delicacy. Tons of sand entered Fenrir’s body, only to increase Fenrir’s size by a little.

This made him face-palm and say, “How long will it take you to eat enough sand to become strong enough to eat that corpse?”

Fenrir didn’t answer him. This was mostly because it was still cross with him, but also because Fenrir itself didn’t know the answer to that question.

However, Fenrir couldn’t be blamed for not knowing the answer to that question since Fenrir isn’t actually an intelligent being. It is not that Fenrir is stupid. It is just that Fenrir isn’t meant to be capable of independent critical thinking.

This Fenrir is a manifestation of his will through his Life Ability. So it is similar to the black crow of the rank 5 death cultivator that he encountered in the Heavenly Battlefield.

That black crow was the will of the death cultivator to kill everyone and recruit them into the death cultivator’s undead army, while this white puppy is his will to eat everyone and everything as a means to gain power.

So it can be said that this puppy, as innocent as it looks, is the distillation of his hunger for power. This means that this puppy isn’t actually a living thing. It can only exist because he has become powerful enough to make his hunger for power manifest.

This is why the puppy can’t be expected to be intelligent and why he can’t rely on it to achieve complicated things.
