Chapter 384: Water And Lightning.

The purple bolts of lightning struck down with the literal fury of the world and the intent to destroy every invader. The anger contained within the lightning was for one of the invaders in particular.

When the bolts of lightning struck the wall of water, they sank harmlessly into the water and did nothing to the guardian of water within the cylinder of water. But when the purple bolts struck Loki, they exploded and tried to burn him alive.

Unfortunately for the purple bolts of lightning, they were too weak to break his defense. So they could only wander all over his body looking for a weak point to enter through.

They could only consume his energy as he resisted them. They couldn’t really harm him. This was the case no matter how much the guardian of lightning called lightning to strike him.

Again and again, lightning bolts fell on him. Again and again, they failed to stop him.

After seeing their pitiful state, he decided to give the lightning something useful to do. So he absorbed the lightning with the Lightning Engine Metac and redirected it into the four cannons he had prepared.

Right now, he has six arms. Two of them are real. The other four are just guns masquerading as arms.

He has been preparing his signature energy bombs ever since he noticed that the golden pillar of light had stopped moving. Even though he started so early, he had not been able to prepare all four cannons because the red balls of lightning require a lot of energy and time to create.

Now that he got some help, he was able to complete one cannon earlier than expected. So he directed that cannon downwards to the cylinder of water below him. Then he fired the cannon.

A ball of lightning was ejected out of the cannon in the direction of the rising column of water. When the ball of lightning struck the water, it exploded and discharged a lot of heat, which caused a lot of water to turn into steam instantly.

But aside from this, the red electricity didn’t seem to do anything else. It just spread across the surface of the water and continued to turn the water into steam.

This didn’t seem to have done a lot of damage to the water guardian. It was just that the red lightning refused to die down and continued to spread across the surface of the walls of water down the sides of the water column until it reached the ground.

The world guardian was still safe at the bottom of the water column, and the red lightning couldn’t reach her, so she thought everything was safe. She raised her hand to continue making walls and tentacles of water to grab Loki.

But she realized that something was wrong because anything that left the column of water quickly evaporated. The walls and the tentacles of water were all coated by the red lightning and quickly turned into steam. So she couldn’t grab Loki.

Then she noticed that the water column was no longer rising. In fact, the water column seemed to be falling in height and shrinking.

This was clearly because the water in the water cylinder was turning into steam faster than it could be replenished. She hadn’t noticed this early on because the effect wasn’t as obvious as the evaporation of the thin walls of water.

This made her roar in anger and shoot blades of highly pressurized water at Loki in the air. But as soon as these blades of water left the water column, they were destroyed by the red lightning and turned into steam.

Soon, it became too difficult to create any form of projectiles with water to launch at Loki. This was because all of her power was spent on trying to maintain the water column and not let it shrink until she was exposed.

This made her realize that her tactic to use an immense amount of water to prevent Loki from being able to do anything to her might be successful, but it is only for a while, and the success doesn’t mean that she will be able to attack him.

Meanwhile, the guardian of lightning had also realized that he was unable to harm Loki with his lightning bolts. Since the will of the world had told him about how effective the speed of the yellow flash had been against Loki, he turned himself into a bolt of lightning and rushed at Loki.

His speed as a bolt of lightning was very fast, and he covered the distance of a kilometer between them in the blink of an eye. He had also attacked from Loki’s back, so there was no way Loki would be able to block or evade his attack.

But just as he got close to Loki, he froze. His elemental fist made of lightning was poised for a punch, but instead of punching Loki, he froze and simply crashed headfirst into Loki’s back.

His eyes and thoughts remained frozen even after crashing into Loki, and he did nothing even though his elemental state was disrupted and he had reverted to his physical form, so Loki was able to grab his head easily.

As Loki grabbed his head, he made the part of his second skin that was holding the head grow into a drill. Then he made the drill spin and tunnel into the head in his grasp.

Throughout the process, the world guardian didn’t wake up. So the guardian of lightning did nothing to resist and was obedient as he was violently and ruthlessly lobotomized.

The guardian of lightning died just like that. With him dead, Loki held onto his corpse and began to extract his power core to devour it.

While he was doing this, he combined two cannons into one and compressed the energy within them even further. This converted the two bomb launchers into one laser cannon. Then he released the laser cannon in the direction he was looking.
