Chapter 363: Barreled Rat.

Loki was truly impressed by her actions. He said to her as he stood up from the ground, “So that’s what you went to bring. You’re so dedicated to defending your world. How admirable.”

She didn’t say anything to him. When she saw that he was still fine, she rushed away again.

Loki sensed that she had run away through the tracking mark. But he didn’t dare think that it was out of fear.

He shook his head and said, “Just my bad luck.”

Then he took off in the direction of the next city.

He ran at full speed, but she was still able to catch up to him. She had gone to the last city to take another lance and rushed up to strike him with it.

This time, Loki didn’t try to defend himself. What he did was to activate the Mental Freeze Metac and create a domain around him that would freeze any mind that got close to him.

After activating the domain, he waited for her to enter it. But this still failed to catch her because she was able to sense the anomaly around him.

So instead of rushing up to smash into him, she threw the lance at him. This made it so that she avoided the domain entirely while simultaneously attacking him.

Unfortunately for her, the power of the lance was too weak without the momentum of her fast-moving body backing it up. So the lance shattered after it struck him. It didn’t move him at all.

This was also because the Vengeful Bones Metac had updated the power it saved with the first attack with the lance. That attack had been able to push him to the ground despite the amplification of the Vengeful Metac, so it had to be stronger than the first attack with her fist.

Since the amplification of the Vengeful Bones Metac is stronger now, even if she had replicated the first attack with the lance, the best she would have gotten was to push him some distance away.

This gave him the confidence to say, as he was dusting himself of the shards of the lance, “Is this the best that you can do? If this is the best, you are out of luck.”

She didn’t say anything and only glared at him. Then she disappeared.

This made Loki sigh and say to himself, ’What kind of trouble have I gotten myself into?’

Then he shrugged and said, “Whatever. I can only fight. Let’s see who can outlast whom.”

With his mind made up, he activated the Mind Network Metac. Then he created multiple threads around him like tentacles, which he can control to grab the mind of anything that comes near him.

The Mind Freeze Metac has the same maximum range as the Mind Network Metac. But it costs more energy to create a domain with a radius of 5,000 meters with the Mind Freeze Metac than it does to create one with the Mind Network Metac.

This is because the Mind Freeze Metac will create a sphere of influence around him, while a Mind Network will only create a mental construct that is a single line.

A single line is many times cheaper than a sphere. In fact, he can’t create a sphere that size, as the attempt to do so will drain his energy before he can accomplish it.

So he can only use the Mind Network Metac to create a mental influence with a large range that can threaten her. But he didn’t stop there. He also activated his guns for good measure.

As the two Gatling guns appeared on his shoulders, he said to himself with a grin, “Let us have another round with her.”

He has used his guns to try to bring her down before, but they failed spectacularly. No projectile of his could hit her. Not even his laser beam.

It was the failure of his laser beam to hit her that made him give up in the first place. When he saw someone move at a speed fast enough to dodge a laser, he decided to admit defeat. But she didn’t let him go.

However, things are different now. He is looking forward to trying out his guns with her again.

After making his preparations, he continued on towards his destination. A few seconds later, he sensed her approaching him.

But then she stopped. Instead of approaching him, she began running around him, looking for an opening.

So she didn’t enter the range of the Mind Network. It appeared that she was content running around the edge of the influence of the Mind Network.

When she sensed an opening, she dove and rushed towards him. She was very fast and couldn’t be tracked with the eyes unless she was approaching him in a straight line, and he was watching her coming at him.

In this case, where she was attacking from the side, it would be difficult to keep track of her with the eyes. But he had the Tracking Ability, so he didn’t need to look to see where she had attacked from.
