Chapter 362: Yellow Flash.

His guns failed to kill her, so he left the city and is going towards the next city. But the world guardian of light didn’t let him go. She decided to pursue him and kill him at all costs.

The world guardian is a bird person with yellow feathers. But when the world guardian starts moving, it stops looking like a living thing and becomes nearly impossible to actually see.

The world rushed at him in the form of a ray of light. She was so fast that she truly appeared to be moving at the speed of light. Before he could react, she struck him in the back.

She punched him in the back, and all of her immense kinetic energy was transferred into his body through her punch. This discharge of energy caused an explosion of air at the point of contact.

The power of the punch was so great that the air expanded rapidly at the point of contact to form shockwaves. He was also thrown away by the force of the punch and smashed face-first into the ground.

Because of the force of the punch, he skid across the surface of the ground for a while as if the ground were ice. Then his body dug into the ground and went deeper until he was buried.

A few seconds later, he burst out of the ground, looking around warily for the world guardian. There was a dent in his back from where she punched him. But the dent was healing slowly over time.

As he looked around for her, he said to himself in frustration, ’Too fast. Simply too fast.’

’Maybe that’s why Fenrir wants to eat her so badly. Or maybe Fenrir wants to eat her because she is a world guardian.’

’The latter is highly possible. After all, she is the first world guardian that I will be coming across. So it is possible that every world guardian is appetizing to Fenrir.’

There are very few occasions that Fenrir has indicated hunger ever since Fenrir became full with five pathways. Each time this feeling of hunger assailed him, it had something to do with a Divine Metac or a Divine Being.

He doesn’t know why Fenrir has taken a liking to this bird person, but he is taking Fenrir’s interest in her very seriously. He wants to give Fenrir what it wants and help Fenrir satisfy its cravings, but this prey is one tough nut to crack.

He has already placed a tracking mark on her, so he should be able to tell where she is. The problem is that she doesn’t stay in one location for too long and is always moving. So he can’t get a lock on her.

Since he couldn’t catch even a glimpse of her, he decided to ignore her and continue on his journey. She took that as an opportunity to stab him in the back again.

He sensed it as she approached his back. But before he could do anything, she had already struck him.

Before the Shifting Armor could grow spears in his back to make her impale herself, her punch already struck his back and withdrew. The result was another explosion and a shockwave.

But this time, he wasn’t sent flying by the force of the punch. He was only pushed forward slightly. This was because the Vengeful Bones Metac had taken effect.

His body was more sturdy than before, so when she struck him, she faced greater opposition than before. This great opposition caused the fist she used to punch him to dislocate at the joint.

The pain also made her stop running away so much. So he was finally able to lock on to her position.

She was far away from him, so he used the Mental Stab Metac. But just as he produced the attack, she sensed it and disappeared in a flash.

Through the tracker, he sensed that she had gone far away from him. This made him shake his head and say, “It seems I scared her away. What a pity.”

He couldn’t keep up with her at all, so he could only let her go. It was regretful, but life had to go on.

After lamenting the situation for a while, he picked a direction to go.

He had scanned the minds of many bird people, so he knew a lot about this world. He is now familiar with their geography, cultivation system, and culture. So he knows where to go next that might have a world guardian.

He had gone to the last city because it was said to be the home of the guardian of light. As it turned out, he was right to go there.

When he thought of what he found in that city, he chuckled to himself as he said, ’It wasn’t so pleasant, but I am sure that the next one will be better. After all, not everyone can be fast enough to be called the Yellow Flash.’

With this encouraging thought on his mind, he moved closer to the city that is said to be the base of another world guardian. But he hadn’t gone more than a kilometer when he sensed her fast approaching.

He sensed her coming from afar, so he had time to prepare his defense. He was able to turn his back into the back of a porcupine just before she struck him.

But even with this level of preparation, she was still able to get away with stabbing him in the back because she wasn’t using her fist.

This time around, she is using a lance. The lance was very long, so even though there were ten-meter-long spears on his back, she could stab him while being safe.

There was another explosion because of the punch. But this explosion was greater than before because the lance also exploded.

The power of the attack was also stronger than before. It managed to push Loki to the ground despite the amplification of the Vengeful Bones Metac. But the attack couldn’t force Loki into the ground like the first one.
