Chapter 355: No Way Out.

He used his Life Ability to divine the answer to that question. Then he said in reply, “You didn’t have a crush on anyone when you were four years old. In fact, you have never had any crush on anyone and have never loved your wife. The only thing you have feelings for and have ever loved is your calling.”

After he was done speaking, he became quiet and waited for a response. But there was no reply from the other side.

There was only silence between them. It was a pregnant silence that was carrying a heavy weight.

The silence continued for more than eleven seconds before the other person said, “How did you know?”

He curled his lips as he replied, saying, “I told you before. I am a truthsayer. I speak the truth, and the truth always comes to me. Only the truth can come out of my lips. You can think of it as a calling of mine.”

“It is how I know that you are preparing to attack me as soon as I appear before you. It is why I have decided not to show myself to you.”

The other person sighed before they asked, saying, “What do you want from me? Why have you been following me for two days now?”

But he didn’t answer the question. He had something else in mind as he said, “I know you care deeply about your world and want to die fighting to defend it. But you’re going to lose, and your world will fall. It is a fact, not my opinion.”

His words made the other person laugh in anger before they said, “So, is this all that you came here for? Just to tell me that my efforts will be in vain?”

“Or do you want to convince me not to fight and to surrender to you? Is that what you want? You want me to become a traitor to my world and to my people?”

His voice was full of anger and a determination to fight to the death. But most crucial was the fact that he didn’t deny the claim that his world would fall.

This indicated that no matter how tough he was on the outside, inwardly he already believed that he would fail to defend his world. Maybe he himself didn’t notice this, but the seer was quick to catch on.

So the seer pressed on by saying, “You should know how powerful your world king was. He was younger than you, but he was far more talented and more powerful than you.”

“That was even when he was a world guardian like you. He had surely become stronger as a world king.”

“Yet, such a powerful being was defeated and killed right in this world with the full support of the world’s will. He was the strongest being in this world, yet he was crushed, and his blood fell like rain upon the earth. Then the will of the world was silenced.”

After saying all of these, he ended his move with several questions, saying, “If such a powerful being could be defeated and killed, then what chance do you have? Or have you forgotten that the person who killed your world king is still alive and kicking?”

The world guardian didn’t know how to answer these questions. They could only say, “But that person promised that if we could resist for a month, we would be free.”

He nodded and said in agreement, “That is true. If you hold on for a month, that person will let you go. But he is not only such a powerful being in my world.”

“There are many such people who want to subdue your world. Once that person fulfills his promise to let you go and gives up, the others will step in to take you.”

“Don’t think that I am lying to you. You have one world king, but we have more than a hundred people who are as powerful as your world king. If all one hundred of them line up to take your world, how many of them do you think you can go through before your resistance falls?”

What he just said was all true. He didn’t say a single lie, as unbelievable as what he said was.

But if he hadn’t established that he never lies, this world guardian would never have believed him. Especially since the fact that a world could have many beings that are as powerful as a world king was so unbelievable.

His effort paid off, and the world guardian believed him. Because the world guardian believed him, the world guardian felt despair.

The world guardian, who was a bird person, slumped on the wall on the other side. His voice came out from his beak like the song of a bird as he said, “This can’t be. How are we to survive? Is there no salvation?”

The seer was quick to say, “There is indeed a solution. It is what I have come to offer.”

When the other person didn’t ask him what this solution was, he sighed and thought to himself, saying, ’What a tough nut to crack. Unfortunately, he is the easiest one I could find, and the others would rather blow themselves up than listen to me.”

Since the other person didn’t seem to be in a hurry, he kept quiet and kept his offer to himself. He decided that it would be counterproductive for him to be too eager to offer the solution.

After all, only when someone works for something will they appreciate it. So he sealed his lips and waited quietly.

After two minutes of thinking, the world guardian said, “You’re at most a world guardian like me. How can you have the power to subvert the will of world kings?”

In reply, he shook his head and laughed as he said, “I wish I were strong enough to mess with world kings. But I am not that strong. The solution I have to offer is merely taking advantage of a loophole.”
