Chapter 324: Source Of Confidence.

But no matter how she looked at him, she could only see a rank 4 cultivator with a cultivation at the peak of rank 4 and a mind protected by a shield. She couldn’t see anything that could be dangerous about him.

He looked harmless to her. But then she remembered that he seemed to have used the abilities of a Mind Hunter earlier, but his body appears to be forged with metal. This made her wary of him.

She doesn’t think he has two pathways. That can’t be her first guess at all. What she thought was that he was a deceiver.

A deceiver can appear to be on different pathways with such skill that they can deceive even her. A deceiver would also be able to fool her Core Metac.

When combined with the fact that she had been lured here and that a rank 5 deceiver can make themselves appear to be at rank 4, she believed that she might be in trouble. So she flew back to create some distance between them.

She she asked him, saying, “What is going on? What are you planning?”

Loki was a little confused by her behavior as he didn’t expect her to back down so easily. But he didn’t think much about it.

He decided to go along with his plan, so he said, “Here I thought you were rash and proud. But it seems I had overestimated your capabilities.”

She didn’t become angry because of his words. But she did say with indignation, “What exactly is your source of confidence?”

She wasn’t looking at him when she asked that question. She was looking around her warily to make sure that she wasn’t about to be surrounded by invisible enemies.

Not that she can see invisible enemies. But she can see changes in the light intensity in the surrounding area and the movement of air around her to determine if there is someone beside her that she can’t see.

However, when Loki said, “Check this out.”

Before he made a red lightning appear in his hands, all three of her eyes snapped to him and focused on his hand with intense focus. She looked at his hand as if it were the only thing in the world.

As the red lightning left traces in the air where space seemed to have been sliced through, the multiple pupils in her third eye ground and smashed against each other, trying to make sense of what they were seeing.

During this process, her mouth was wide open in shock, and her two normal eyes were wide open with clear disbelief written all over her face.

She even said, “How is this happening? Am I seeing things?”

“How can you have the Forging Pathway and Killing Pathway, and how can you make them together? Is this fake? Is this an illusion?”

In response, Loki snorted and said, “It is the real deal. The fact that you can’t do it doesn’t mean someone else can’t.”

His words made her sneer and say with confidence, “That was true before. But not anymore because you’re not the only one who can do it.”

As she said this, she also produced red lightning in her hand. The red lightning that she produced was also more powerful.

Her lightning was cracking and popping louder than Loki’s lightning. This made her smile triumphantly and look down on him with scorn.

She curled her lips as she said, “What else do you have? Do everything you are capable of and watch me do it better than you.”

Since her skin was already splitting apart, Loki had already accomplished his goal and didn’t need to do anything anymore. So he deactivated the Lightning Engine Metac and the Splitting Edge Metac.

Then he clapped and said, “I’m done. That’s everything I have for you.”

Her eyes were full of scorn as she said, “If that is so and this is all that you’re capable of, then you are done for.”

She still didn’t notice that she was cracking like porcelain. She kept toying with the red lightning in her hands with joy while trying to edge him on to do something new.

But Loki wasn’t riled up by her words. Instead of showing off to her like she wanted, he was more concerned about why she was dying.

As he looked at her breaking figure, he said to himself, ’It can’t be because the power was too much for her to handle. I only used two Metacs, not six like last time, but she is still cracking. So it has to be because of the conflict between the two pathways.’

’This means that Fenrir is special. After all, I use more than one pathway without dying.’

He already knows that Fenrir is special. But what makes it more special here is that her Life Ability should be able to copy the effect of any Metac, but it can’t copy Fenrir’s capability without experiencing terrible consequences.

This has made him gain a newfound appreciation for Fenrir. Even if he was stupid, the sight of someone who tried to copy him dying before his very eyes is enough to drive home the fact that Fenrir is very special to him. After all, seeing is believing.

As he thought of this, he nodded his head and said, ’Fenrir might even be more special than Divine Metacs. After all, she can copy the effects of Divine Metacs and multiple ones at that, but she can’t withstand Fenrir’s combination of pathways.’

While he was thinking to himself, the cracks on her body had deepened enough to draw blood. With blood leaking all over her body, even though she still didn’t feel pain, she was finally noticing that something was wrong with her.

Her face was full of confusion as she looked at her arm and said, “What is happening to me?”

Loki was quick to reply, “I can save you.”

His words made her glare at him and say, “What did you do to me?”

In response, he shook his head and said, “That’s not important right now. What’s important is that I can save your life.”

But she didn’t believe him.
