Chapter 291: Many Swords.

Loki sensed that the enemy had died immediately the attack struck. This was because his tracking mark had disappeared. He also sensed that the Sealing Ability couldn’t take effect.

After sensing that the mark on the seer had disappeared, his lips twitched, and he said, “The bad news is that the body was so thoroughly destroyed that the Sealing Ability couldn’t take effect, and there was nothing to salvage. The good news is that I earned grade 5 merit points.”

The sect had also noticed that he killed an enemy. The enemy he killed was a rank 4 seer cultivator with Level 4 Dao Status, so he was given 4 grade 5 merit points.

This amount wasn’t a surprise to him because he knew how this mission was going to reward them. He knew that if the enemy had possessed Level 5 Dao Status, he would have been given 5 grade 5 merit points.

But if the enemy had been a rank 5 cultivator with Level 4 Dao Status, he would have been given 8 grade 5 merit points. This is because rank 5 cultivators are worth twice as much as their rank 4 counterparts.

Since the price of Level 5 Dao Status is 20 grade 5 merit, this means that he only needs to kill 4 more enemies like the one he just killed. This put a smile on his face.

As he smiled, he said, “With a Level 5 Dao Status, I will be one step closer to achieving the most useful soldier for the Four Directions Sect.”

“For now, I should stay away from rank 5 cultivators. As long as I don’t meet any rank 5 cultivator, everything should be fine.”

In order to have someone protect him from rank 5 enemies, he decided to meet up with one of the cultivators of his sect. So he looked around for their signal.

As he looked around the battlefield, he saw large manifestations of Life Abilities high up in the sky in the distance. He saw a golden cloud made of coins, a large black crow with a single eye, and a large black hammer in the sky.

There were also other manifestations of the Life Abilities of the rank 5 cultivators of the other sects, like stars in the sky. But he recognizes those three as the ones from his sect.

The large black hammer was the closest to his position, so he decided to meet up with her. He picked her direction before falling back to the earth. Then he began moving towards her direction.

He fell to the ground because he didn’t want to reveal his position to everyone around him. It is especially prudent to be stealthy when there are seers around.

On his way to the rank 5 cultivator, he sighed in relief and said, “Fortunately, she is close to me and doesn’t have a Life Ability similar to mine.”

He chuckled and said, “If she were using the Armored Shell Life Ability, I would be running away from her right now.”

On the other side, the rank 5 cultivator that he was trying to meet was currently mired with a sword cultivator. This black-haired woman with a hammer in her right hand was confronting a red-robed sword cultivator.

The sword cultivator held a black saber with his two hands. The black saber was curved and had a red edge as if this sharp part of the sword had just cut into flesh recently.

He said to her, “One sword.”

Then he swung the sword at her.

He was far away from her when he swung the sword, so it didn’t look like the sword could reach her. But a red light shot out of the sword in her direction.

It was an energy blade of great power, so she didn’t dare to underestimate it even though it wasn’t a real sword. She swung her black hammer at the red crescent energy blade with all of her might.

The hammer and the red energy blade struck each other, which led to the creation of sparks followed by an explosion of energy. The red energy blade was destroyed by the hammer, but this was only the beginning.

The swordsman said to her, “Two swords.”

Then he swung his sword again. This time, two red crescent blades were created by the sword in his hands, and they shot towards her.

The two blades came at her from the right and left sides. So she was at the center where they would both converge. This arrangement meant that it would be difficult to deal with both of them at the same time.

But even before she dealt with these two attacks, the swordsman said, “Three swords.”

Then he produced three more blades, which he shot at her.

He continued to produce more and more energy blades from a safe distance, while she had to run around dealing with his attack. This was not a good arrangement for her, so she tried to get close to him to bring the fight to him and stop him from producing more energy blades.

But he would always keep his distance from her. He kept backing up whenever she tried to get close, so there was always distance between them that he was able to use to maintain his advantage.

Since she couldn’t get close to him, she threw her hammer at him. She didn’t wait to see the result, though. She chose to run away while her hammer distracted him.

The hammer sailed through the air in the direction of the swordsman, and even though he dodged to avoid the hammer, the hammer kept following him like a dog on the scent of prey. The hammer went back and forth each time it missed him, trying to catch him.

Because the hammer was chasing him, he had to constantly evade the hammer or face it head-on. Whichever one he chooses to do, he won’t be able to continue attacking her.

The worst part is that the hammer is increasing the gravitational field around it, which is increasing the gravity of everything within a certain area around it. This increase in gravity will make everything heavier and pull it towards the ground.
