Chapter 283: Burst Of Refinement.

As he operated the Sky-raising Giant refining technique, the technique flowed faster than before, and the image of the giant in his mind became clearer faster than ever. It felt like an engine that he just oiled.

The sudden push was caused by his recent experiences. He could feel that the memories of the things he had just done were driving the technique and making his Dao Heart stronger than before.

With the refining technique running at full speed, memories of all the birds that he ate and the memories of all of the unicorn rabbits that he dissected to see if they had the same internal organs as normal rabbits pulsated in his mind and pushed his Dao Heart to ever greater heights.

Already, his Dao Heart has improved by 1% in just one day. This is blindly fast because the fastest speed he has ever achieved since he started refining his rank 5 Dao Heart is 1% every month.

Of course, this sudden surge in the improvement of his Dao Heart is short-lived. The speed of his Dao Heart will still be faster than it was, but it won’t be as exaggerated as this after today.

This made him nod his head in satisfaction, “This is good. New experiences, whether good or bad, are always good for the Dao Heart.”

“This growth spurt isn’t as impressive as that time I saw a large hand descend from the sky and crush the world, but it is still good. At least, it is better than nothing.”

“At this rate, my Dao Heart might reach rank 6 in a year. So it is very good.”

That large hand and the subsequent had given him a whole 50% increase in the refinement of his rank 5 Dao Heart. But it had also been a dangerous event that could have led to his permanent death. Compared to the carefree and enjoyable experience he has had since he arrived in heaven, the two experiences are like white and black.

After dwelling on that encounter some more, he returned his attention to refining his Dao Heart. He didn’t have anything else to do in the meantime, so he spent the rest of his time doing this.

He was busy doing this when he heard a loud roar of anger. This roar of anger was so loud it shattered glass, shook the floating city, and caused it to sway, and finally caused his head to buzz.

This was despite the fact that he was constantly using the Shifting Armor as his second skin, so he was always armored and on the defensive. Not many people were as prepared as he was to deal with a surprise attack.

Most people on the floating city were caught off guard by that attack, so a lot of people were injured. Their injuries ranged from burst eardrums to bleeding through their ears and nose.

Since he was relatively intact, he was able to stand and walk towards the window to see what was going on. But even before he could get there, another sonic attack came out of nowhere and struck him.

He heard a loud, piercing scream of sadness, saying, “Nooooooo!”

The scream shattered the fragments of the shattered glass from before and caused the world to sway beneath him. He would have staggered or even fallen down if not for the fact that he could levitate.

So his Mind Palace helped to anchor him and keep him upright while the city swayed like a leaf in a storm. He was able to keep walking to reach the window.

As soon as he got to the window and looked out from it, he saw a large crystal ball descend from the black veil in the sky. This crystal ball was as large as a country, so it was many times bigger than the floating city.

He was sure about this because he could see a large continent as large as a country within the crystal. In fact, he could see an entire world within the crystal.

There was also a sky and a sun in the large crystal. This made the crystal look like a snow globe with an entire world inside of it.

After looking at the large crystal, he saw that there were golden chains binding it. These chains were invisible most of the time. But they flared into existence anytime the large crystal tried to disengage and return to the area beyond the black veil.

Loki didn’t know much about what was going on, but he doubted it was a good thing for the large crystal world. He quickly became sure that the crystal world was in a bad situation when he saw someone with a golden fire burning on top of their head appear and enter the crystal world.

As soon as that happened, a voice of anger came from the crystal world, saying, “Get out. Get out now.”

But the person who entered the small world didn’t get out. What came was a loud bang that shook the entire crystal world.

Then Loki heard another scream, saying, “Die for me. Die! Die! Die!”

This was said as a scream, so the voice was loud. In fact, the voice sounded and looked like an explosion. Loki could see the air around the crystal world expand and explode just before the sound waves struck the floating city and caused it to sway.

The ground began to shake beneath his feet again, but Loki wasn’t paying it any attention. He was too busy looking at the struggle in the sky to care about anything else.

His eyes were bright as he said, “So that’s where the sonic attacks are coming from. How powerful!”

He didn’t take his eyes off the spectacle in the sky, so he saw that there was something or someone in the crystal world that was resisting the large hand. Their resistance was causing intense flashes of light like the solar flares on the surface of the sun.
