Chapter 280: The Sight Of Heaven.

For now, his main goal is to become a rank 5 being. But beyond that is his goal to become a divine being. And even further after that is to become the founder of a sect.

But he doesn’t plan to stop yet. He plans to go beyond the level of a founder and achieve even greater things. The fact that he doesn’t know what comes after being a founder of a sect is not going to be a limitation on how far he can aim for.

And even if there is nothing after becoming the founder of a sect, he plans to create the next milestone, achieve it, and raise the bar higher for the future generation.

The thought of this made him curl his lips and say, “To infinity and beyond. That is my motto.”

For the rest of the trip, his thoughts were full of grand ambition and his hopes and dreams for the future. These things kept him company across his journey to the heavens.

But he didn’t just daydream about his ambitions. He also gave a lot of thought to how to achieve them.

One thing that he thought about was how he would fare in a fight with Lady Red. He thought a lot about this because she is the only rank 5 forger that he knows, and also the only one who he knows with certainty has World Heart Fragment.

In all of his mental fights with her, he couldn’t beat her. This is mostly because he doesn’t know what Metacs and tools she has in her possession.

There is also the glaring fact that he doesn’t know exactly what a rank 5 is capable of and how strong they are. So he couldn’t determine for sure that he could defeat her.

Of course, he could try to make her weaker so that he could beat her in his mental fights. But that would be of no help to him.

Making her weaker intentionally might even make him overconfident when he eventually confronts her, which would be a detriment to him.

So it is best that he admits that she is unfathomable. At least that way, he will treat her with caution and will be more open to learning more about her strength rather than getting cocky about his chances of defeating her.

He was still thinking about this when he reached the limit of the sky. It didn’t feel like a limit, though. At least, he didn’t feel that it was a limit when he encountered it.

One moment, he was passing through a sea of clouds. His vision was obscured by the clouds, so he couldn’t see anything around him. All he knew was that he was rising.

Then suddenly, the world brightened, the seal of cloud fell away, and he found himself standing above white ground. The ground was solid enough for him to stand on, but it was also bouncy and soft enough that he believed that he could break through it with his foot if he used too much force.

The ground looked sandy and loose like the sands of a desert. But the sand was white and looked like crystals, not soil. This intrigued him, so he bent down to touch the soil.

When he touched the soil, he was able to confirm that the sand was indeed white crystals. But the crystal was brittle and was easy to crush in his hands. So it felt like glass, not stone.

After checking the loose soil beneath his feet, he stood up and looked around him. As far as he could see, he saw an ocean of white, glassy sand.

The large expanse of white, glassy sand also acted like a mirror with a surface that was twinkling like stars and was bouncing and refracting light in various weird ways. He even saw a rainbow cast into the sky by the light reflecting from the surface of the ground.

What made his eyes widen in surprise was that there was vegetation in heaven. He saw small shrubby trees scattered everywhere in the ocean of sandy glass. These trees were blue, not green like the ones below. And they appeared to be made of glass.

To be exact, they appeared to be sculpted out of glass. This was because their edges were sharp and they weren’t moving at all. They were still and stiff as a sculpture would be.

Then there were the birds, rodents, deer, and other animals frolicking in the glassy desert. Above was a black veil covering the whole world, and in between this black veil and the white sandy ground is the sun shining with light and heat. It was all quite a sight.

This made him say, “So this is heaven. How wonderful.”

He became intrigued by all of the things he was seeing, so he went around looking at various things. The first thing he did was to catch some yellow fur rabbits and look at their small, single unicorn horns with interest.

Then he went to see if the flying birds truly have two heads or only looked like they have two heads because of the trick of the light. Of course, he had to catch them to be sure if they had two heads or not.

After doing that, he went to see if the frogs lounging on the blue trees really had four eyes and six limbs. But before he could catch one, it croaked with a voice as loud as a jet engine taking off right in front of him.

The loud sound caught him off guard and caused his ears to ring. But this didn’t deter him. It made him want to inspect the six-legged spotted frogs even more. So he rushed at the frog.

These are just a few of the things he did. He spent more than an hour satisfying his curiosity and did even more outrageous things, like eating the two-headed birds to see what they tasted like.
